I have clicked the 'always ask where to save download' box, but the save files to downloads is still active. How do I get it to ask me where to download to every time?

I recently installed Firefox on my new laptop. During install I recall seeing a pop up for McAfee. I think I clicked that I didn't want it. After using Firefox for a little while, a McAfee pop up appeared about being on a dangerous site. (This is one that I have been on numerous times before and my preferred virus protection has not had an issue with it.) Does Firefox automatically install McAfee even when we don't want it? I searched through my apps and found a McAfee Webmaster app and uninstalled it. I have inadvertently had McAfee added on other computers and have had nothing but problems with it. If Firefox wants to associate itself with McAfee, I am having my doubts about what else is being added to my computer. Should I be concerned?

I just bought a new laptop, and I can't figure out how to import my old bookmarks. I have them in an html file, but the import data option displays only the choice of importing from Edge (a horrible browser), not from file.

I can't even swear that I am seeing bookmarks. The bookmarks line at top is showing only the most recent (very old) searchs in Edge I also am not seeing the option to clear history on exit. What's wrong, and what can I do?

My PC-Windows 10 crash, I have to reinstall Windows 10 on another partition of HDD. The old windows 10 partition still there with firefox files on that, how can I restore as much as possible from that ?

I am trying to install 32 version of Firefox on a VM running RHEL8.6.

I sourced the installer from https://download-installer.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/firefox/releases/115.1.0esr/linux-i686/en-US/firefox-115.1.0esr.tar.bz2 here and i followed the installation instructions mentioned here .

After the installation is done, whenever I try to run Firefox, I get the following error

-bash: /usr/local/bin/firefox: No such file or directory

I checked the environment variable and it was et correctly.

Please let me know where I am going wrong.

Each time Firefox forces me to update, when it comes back, it says it need me to input my Mac password to authorize the installation of a "Helper" tool. I do so but then Firefox will hang. I need to Force Quit it. If I cancel out of putting in my password, it won't start.

The only way to fix is to delete Firefox.app from Applications then download a new DMG and reinstall. I'm getting sick of having to do that every time. I've been a Firefox user for well over a decade and don't want to move to Chrome or Safari but this is getting bad.

I don't even know what "Helper Tool" it wants to install. I use the Dashlane and Gmail Reverse Conversations as the only 2 Extensions I have in the browser.

Please help me figure out how I can avoid having to delete and download Firefox everytime I'm forced to update it.

I just checked to see if there were an update to Firefox, for my secondary laptop. But for some reason it wants to update from "Version 115.0.3 (64-bit)" to "115.1esr".

I have never used ESR in my life, so why does it want to update to ESR?

Is this expected, or is there a problem with this? It is intentional that I use my Windows 7 64-bit laptop.

I want the version (which i assume is the ESR one) OFF my computer. I have downloaded a "regular version" (116.0.3) and have followed all instructions I have found on this site. It gets to a point and says it can't find the file. There is no README or Install file in the download so I am stuck. Please help me because I want the ESR version GONE!!! Thanks for any help! R

I have Mac OS 10.14.6, so Firefox stopped working with its latest update. So I downloaded Firefox ESR. I want my passwords, history, and browser data from my original firefox, but when I go to the Import Browser Data function, my original firefox is not listed as an option to import from. And I can't launch my old firefox in order to export the data to an html file. So what can I do? Thanks!

I had to switch to a new Windows 11 laptop. I installed firefox my favorite browser. It has been a disaster. after 1 week of trying different settings I have been unable to log into Facebook, Ally Bank, Netflix and others. I have changed the delegated credentials from true to false and it doesn't work at either setting. I am either getting SSL errors, "Pardon the Interruption" on netflix and some sites just say "Unable to log you on". Please note that I can successfully log on all the apps on Edge.

I have had Firefox for three days now, and I was trying to watch some videos on Netflix, but I got this error that the DRM was not installed. I did not have any plugins installed or VPN on either. I was looking for steps to solve this but came to a dead end. I tried looking into the console, and it gave me errors with turning off/on the DRM. I would like to get some help with this.

Hello, For me, there is no substitute for browsing with Firefox. But for some time now I've been getting notices that I'm not using the current browser version, for example in my email program and the banking application. However, Firefox info in the menu says that I am using the current version and there are no updates available. Here is the Firefox version shown to me: 78.15.0esr (64-bit) I work with an iMac of the following version: iMac (21.5 inch, from 2010) - OS X El Capitan version 10.11.6 (15G22010); - Processor: 3.06GHz Intel Core i3; - Memory: 4GB 1333MHz DDR3; - Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 4670 256MB Maybe my computer is too old for the latest version, but why does Firefox Info show me that the browser is up to date and there are no updates? Can't update to latest version, or access any Mozilla site. Instead I get an Unable to Connect -- try again message. No other websites affected, just Mozilla. Tried running Firefox in recovery mode, same result. Also tried to download an installation package using Chrome. Again, the same error. I'm asking for help on my phone, since doing so on my laptop is denied. Would appreciate assistance.

I want to uninistall my firefox application, but unfortunately the folder in C:/Users/XXX/AppData/Local/Mozialla Firefox/ is empty, so I cannot uninstall it. I tried downloading again and then uninstalling, but did not help. Can I manually add the .../uninstall/helper.exe in order to completely remove the application from my Windows Computer?

I takes up a lot of space on my memory disk, so I want to remove it, but can't.
