When I select a line of text, normally it would get deleted/overwritten when typing a new line of text, but when I select text in Firefox and begin typing again, it simply deletes the first word in the selection and keeps the rest. Is there a setting to have ALL text selected deleted/overwritten when new text is entered? Selecting one word overwrites the whole word but when an entire line to be deleted is selected, only the first word is deleted and typing begins where that word ends.

I need to disable the "command I" keystroke because it is causing alot of problems when I hit it. I am on a Mac and use a Protooarc EK01+ keyboard, This keyboard has a "settings" key and when I peess it by accident, it dislays the Ihfo dialog screen (and erases what I've already typed. Can you help me, please?

This might be quite "old man yells at cloud" of me, but oh my god I am so fed up of everything putting AI in as a "feature" for no reason.

1) No one asked for this. 2) It is bad at doing whatever it is designed to do. (It's not helpful, it's not even neutrally unhelpful, it's ANTI-HELPFUL.) 3) It is always on by default, or worse, impossible to turn off.

At the very least AI features need to be off by default, because it's rubbish.

Firefox is meant to be a bastion of sanity and safety in a world of exploitative techbros trying to steal our data and trick us into making money for them. So-called "AI" goes against this. Please, Firefox, be better.

As of 20th Nov 2025, here's how to turn off AI features. Go into about:config and set all of these to false (yes, you’ll have to copy and paste them one by one):

in addition to nuking AI, it’ll also speed up your browsing

I am interested in Firefox View, but I do not see that button on my toolbar (see attached image). When I search extensions I don't see that come up as an option. How do I add Firefox View?

Firefox suddenly has an AI assistant that pops up on a tool bar on the left side of the screen with a green dot beside it. I want to turn this off and make it disappear, if possible. Please tell me how to do that.

Mozilla changed the longstanding "Copy Link Address" hotkey from "A" to "L" in Firefox 88.

They have decided to not consider reverting this change, even though "L" is far less accessible than "A" and brings it out of sync with accessibility keys across other browsers.

Firefox broke copy link address right click context menu hotkey "A" again in Firefox 142 by adding "Ask an AI Chatbot" and this time I'm not sure I can get around it with an extension https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/link-copy/

Can this context menu option be made optional or something please?

I am happy Firefox released a way to change system shortcuts in the most recent version. But a shortcut I've wanted to change for awhile was not present.

Cmd+K (Jump to OmniBar)

Is there anyway to change this shortcut? If so, how?

When my internet goes out and I check if it's back up by opening Firefox, if it's not back up then all the tabs from the previous session get lost if I close the browser. None of my other browsers do this; they all open with the previous session. This is a major issue, because I lose hours of work each time.

Hey friends, n00b questions - how do I allow pop ups on a website again?

I accidentally clicked too fast and clicked to not allow pop ups again on a site I need a window to pop up.

I went to settings to make an exception for the website, but it still does not work.

Any help please?

Hi It isn't really a question, but it get to know and learn how to use Firefox efficiently before I converted from Safari to Firefox. I knew much more in Safari than in Firefox. Once I know more about Firefox, Firefox will be a default browser in my desktop,mac. Thanks Ted

how can i restore control of my device? I keep receiving this: "someone else, like a parent or administrator, controls settings on the network, browser or device that you’re using", but it is my device and I am a 41 year old adult.
