Unlike the other question on here, I do not lose any of the extensions or associated settings when this happens, the only thing affected is the appearance of the list itself. I have verified that this happens every time I boot Firefox after a PC restart. I followed the advice given on another questions to delete extensions.json and entensions.ini (the only ones present in my profile folder), unfortunately this only temporarily resolves the problem until it repeats. It started happening a few days after added Greasemonkey, I tried disabling it to see if that would fix it, but no luck! Thanks for reading.

Cannot access Chase.com I can see page, can enter password, but directs me to a page where it asks me to enable Javascript. Its already enabled. This is instead of taking me into the accounts. This is new since 47.0.1 ff version.

Contacted bank, and their 'technical solution' was to have me delete the site from my favorites/bookmarks and re-make !! Didnt work (big surprise). Contacting... here.

i reverted from w10 to 8.1 for reliability reasons. (start and taskbar would stop working.) now that i'm back to 8.1 i have a problem i didn't used to have before i upgrade to 10. most of the times, the pages i have open or will open, will render black. refreshing won't help, neither clearing the cache. i must exit the browser and open it again for it to load them correctly. this is an example, it happens on every website.

the OS rollback was from a complete clean installation. i didn't use the rollback feature in w10. also i created the FF profile from the beginning.

3. ran memtest86+ on the RAM and found lots of errors. Replaced RAM and that seemed to do the trick for about a week. Crashes began again today. I ran memtest86+ again and found no errors (the same as after I replaced all RAM).

4. ran a couple of virus/malware checkers and found nothing

5. I am running fully updated windows XP pro

It seems Mozilla has not included a Trash folder in Bookmarks. Or is it somewhere else? It is so easy to accidentally delete a folder (that could contain thousands of bookmarks accumulated over several years). Why not have a Trash folder there? We've got the useless Unsorted Bookmarks, Bookmarks Toolbar but not Trash? Restoring is an option but a really dumb one as you may have done so much work since the previous day. A Trash folder is the intelligent way to go. Maybe its somewhere else. But who would hide it? Is there an extension I wonder if Mozilla has deemed us unworthy for a Trash folder? That would work.

This is probably the future of software. The main program is offered in a very basic, stripped down version. Then developers see what it needs and offer add-ons for it. When there is a demand for something it would be filled. Very democratic.

FIRST: I was just reading about personalizing a "new tab," which I have wanted to do. But the "new tab" that I get when I click on the + sign (I have the tab bar down the side — which I REALLY like, incidentally! — the + is at the very top.) doesn't have that gear thingy on it; it appears to be a different browser or something (I'm guessing), though I have set, time and again, FF as my default/preferred/only browser! It might be a Google page, though it doesn't have the Google look either.

ATTACHED: Is this the "new tab"? It does have a "gear" at the bottom of the page. OR, is there another place I should be looking for the "new tab" button?

SECOND: Every time I open FF, the Bookmarks Sidebar is there. I close it, but when I reopen, it's there again. This has been happening for just a few days, but it IS annoying.

I have every CODEX and FFmpeg in my computer, there is no such thing as a video I can't play, none, except on Howcast. Starting about a week ago, I've experienced about half my bookmarks disappearing every day. Every time, I go back to the previous backup and restore them. I have turned off Firefox's syncing of bookmarks and use Xmarks. Whenever I restore my bookmarks, I force a sync with Xmarks, and the bookmarks hold for the day, but the next morning, half of them are gone again. I can't tell whether Firefox is corrupting them or Xmarks is, so I'm asking in both places.

After messing with some add-ons today, I tried to load up a page only to have flash instantly crash. I reloaded and it did the same thing again. I tried other pages, yet the same problem. I closed Firefox, loaded it back up and still the same thing.

I tried loading up Google Chrome and it worked fine so I thought Firefox was just being wonky, I restarted my computer and nothing changed. I updated flash and still the same. I restarted in safe mode with all add -ons disabled and the same thing. I even uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled (I don't know if this matters, but when I reinstalled it and it started up all the tabs that I previously had open when I uninstalled came back up; I thought that was a bit strange, if anyone could shed light on that I'd appreciate it.)

I have no clue what's going on. I tried the Mozilla troubleshooting, everything listed except disabling hardware acceleration (I couldn't figure out how to do that, it told me to right click on something on the page, but that was flash and it immediately crashed and I didn't see anything in the settings for Adobe Flash about hardware acceleration.)

If anyone could help I'd appreciate it.

For the last 4 months, I've had problems with FireFox crashing on my desktop computer. I get a crash report every time. I'm running a dual-boot with Windows 7 and Ubuntu 14.04 (both 64-bit); see below for hardware details. Frequency is erratic, but can happen in 5 minutes or take 12 hours, and can happen with 2 tabs open or with 40 tabs open. I was having problems in both Windows and Linux and only on my desktop (I have a dual-boot laptop with no issues), so one way or another, I'm pretty sure it's a hardware problem.

Troubleshooting I've done so far:

Ran a memory test; test declared the RAM to be good.

Unchecked "Use hardware acceleration when available".

Disabled all add-on's.

Replaced video card (old card was a GeForce GT430; new card is a GeForce GTX970).

Performed a clean re-install of FireFox; it would crash before installing any add-on's.

And, finally, reformatted and repartitioned the hard drive and re-installed Windows (I haven't re-installed the Linux side yet).

All system updates and video card updates are installed.

These steps have made no change, leading me to suspect that either MemTest isn't detecting a memory problem, or I have a hardware problem elsewhere. I'm getting ready to replace the motherboard, processor, and RAM, but thought I would check here first to see if I'm missing anything. I should note that I've also had problems with Google Chrome and Opera, but FireFox is my first choice, so I came here first.

Here are the only five crash reports I have available at the moment (these crashes occurred in the 72 hours or so since I got Windows 7 re-installed):

If anyone has any ideas or recommendations, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

I created an account for the Firefox Testpilot feature (as it sounds really interesting). After signing in i then proceed to install the Test Pilot add on. After successfuill installation i then click "Choose Your Features". This then brings me back to a page asking me to install the Test Pilot add on again. It then becomes a continous loop of installing/reinstalling.

For a few weeks I have been trying to fix an extremely slow Firefox, with slow respose to keys and to mouse, and some websites have taked a minute or more to connect (also trying to move the window with the mouse is jerky). It's unusable and I've had to resort to Internet Explorer, which has kept up to speed, as has everything else on the computer.

I've tried many supposed remedies found by internet search and on the Firefox support pages, including malware scans (all clean, apparently), safe mode, creating a new profile, etc.. And done a registry clean. I did find that after a System Restore it ran fast, but the next day (i.e. on restarting the computer) it ran slow again. Anyway, system restore is not a practical solution.

Finally I think the best situation to report is this. - if I run msconfig and tick Normal Startup, and then restart (without switching off), then firefox runs fast and everything is as it should be; this is true also with restored bookmarks and passwords, and all the add-ons and plug-ins allowed. - but if I restart after machine switchoff (and today just a menu restart without doing the msconfig thing), then Firefox reverts to slow again.

I can't make head or tail of why this is so. Can you advise? John Kilpatrick - Windows 10, HP desktop, Trend Micro Internet Security.

I use an Asus RT-AC68U router with my home network. "View List" in the web GUI doesn't work in Firefox (it's up to date). The number of clients is listed, but clicking "View List" brings up only the headers for "All" and "By Interface"--neither option lists the clients. "Client Status" also reveals no listings, even after hitting "Refresh." This works perfectly in Chrome.

So far, I've ensured that all the MAC addresses of my devices are in capital letters (no lower case letters). I've tried clearing nvram. I've also separately both powered down/powered up the router and rebooted the router. I've downloaded and applied the latest firmware and reset the router several times. Each time I do that, "View List" works the first time I try it. Then it stops working again. I've tried it with the firewall off and with my antivirus off, to no avail.

If this were a firewall problem, I'm guessing Chrome wouldn't work, either, so I'm counting out a firewall issue. I've tried it in Firefox with all my add-ons disabled and it still doesn't work. The funny thing is that on my laptop, viewing the client list works in Firefox--but not in Firefox on my desktop. I'm guessing I should focus on Firefox on my desktop.

Could there be a Firefox setting I need to enable--or disable?

Re: TABS - Warn me when closing multiple tabs

"Warn me when closing multiple tabs" - IS UNCHECKED - yet I am CONSTANTLY presented with the warning whenever I attempt to "Close Tabs to the Right or "Close Other Tabs".

How do I make this WORK ? - instead of constantly badgering me with the unwanted warnings from the option which I have CHOSEN (by selection) to manage appropriately - (AS offered by Firefox. TABS - Warn me when closing multiple tabs). It is UN-checked, yet it STILL presents the warnings.
