For several months my firefox (now 76) will not print webpages. It use to work perfectly. However, for the last 4 - 5 months I get the error "an error occurred while printing." I have "refreshed" firefox; done a restore point for Windows 10; reinstalled firefoxe; checked firefox safe mode; done the config:about and deleted print_printer to no avail; done the pres.js recommendations; and followed everything firefox has suggested over the last few months and nothing has fixed the printing error/issue. I use firefox and then have to use Opera to print my page. If I can't resolve, I'll be making Opera my default and I don't want to do that. Any other clues or suggestions?

I received one reply that suggested I do the above, which doesn't solve the problem. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. I need this to start working.

When I go to print menu and select print, I get a box that shows me two options to print. One from Microsoft XPS Doc Writer and one from OneNote for Windows 10. My default printer isn't even shown. When I go to find printer, I get an icon with a computer that says USER-PC. I have gone in and selected my printer to be the default. It won't even show up. However, when I go to print from Explorer or any other area besides Firefox, which I love, it shows up and works perfectly. How do I get Firefox to default to that printer. I don't even know what XPS Doc Writer is or OneNote. I am not a tech person, so if you have a solution, could you please give me a step-by-step that even an idiot could understand? Your wisdom and kindness are appreciated greatly. If you would like to communicate with me privately, that is great. I just don't want my email out there for the world, as you may already have guessed. Thank you in advance for you patient understanding. P.S. I do have the current version of FF.

Printing is damaged. All margins are set to zero. When you look at the print preview, you can see that the width of the document must be smaller and the height must be larger. With the red boxes, I made sure that it was A4. It is displayed correctly in other browsers, but not in Firefox. See the screenshot. What can I do?

I would like to print cooking recepies from the ESSEN und TRINKEN which I can show on my screen of my dell xps15 using the hp cl 281fdw printer. When I start the printing, there is just a message "peparing print" but nothing happens even after 15 minutes. On the other side using google the print is no problem at all. So I would like to ask how I can get the same results using firefox

Hi,

I have a problem with using a Web-based application.

Before the last FF update to version 76.0, I was able to by-pass the Print Dialog tab after clicking "generate report" link, and instead of automate printing it - save it to PDF file in "download folder" (when I clicked "cancel" button in Print Dialog tab, the <<<yellow stripe>>> appeared at the top of webpage, with the option "save file").

Now, after the 75.0 ==> 76.0 update, the <<<yellow stripe>>> doesn't appear anymore, and I can print the report only by Print Dialog tabl., without ability to save it to my disk drive.

Can I have my "yellow stripe" back? Or do I have to reinstall FF back to version 75.0?

Printing Webpages Using Firefox: Issue Resolved

Version 73.0.1

When printing a webpage from Firefox (Open Menu->Print), the print preview mode is displayed. On most websites with multiple pages, each page displays the full text in order.

However, on some websites with multiple pages, the first page displays text but the second page only shows the header in the top left and the website in the top right but the page is blank. On other webpages, full webpage text is displayed but it is out of order.

When using Opera, the webpages that showed blank text or out of order text in Firefox are displayed completely and in the correct order.

Is it a website browser compatibility and configuration issue (the webpage is only configured correctly for certain browsers) or Is this a known Firefox glitch that causes some pages not to be displayed correctly in print preview mode?

I hope that my question is clear.

Not always, but often enough to be very annoying, Firefox crashes when I click File>Print Preview or File>Print when trying to print a webpage. I have not noticed anything systematic about the crashes. I did Internet searches for this problem and scoured the help on the Support site, but could find not recent mentions of this problem and no real solutions when this problem was discussed in connection with early versions of Firefox. Anyone else having this problem? I hope someone can suggest some solutions. By the way, my printer is a Brother MFC-L2700DW and I connect with it via USB. I've also tried reinstalling/updating the printer drivers, but no joy. My computer is a Dell N5110 running Win 7. I'm not too savvy about capturing Firefox error logs, but will read up on it and have some info available if anyone asks. Thanks.

I've been looking for a new job, and I like to print out the job descriptions to pdf to save for later reference. However, I've noticed that Firefox does not always print out the full web page. It will often cut off text, or only print the first page. It's more noticeable when the website uses frames.

I've tried using "print selection", but it still seems to cut off the text, or still tries to print the full site/page and not my selection.

When I print in Chrome, I do not have any issues.

Anyone else notice this and maybe have a resolution?

Thanks.

I come from using google chrome and have never had any issues printing a pdf from gmail preview. When trying to do the same thing on firefox a new tab opens normally and the pdf appears to load (as shown by the progress highlight in the taskbar icon) but all I get is a blank page in the new tab. Is there any way for the pdf to load in the page and print?

TIA

I was examining a Wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compartmental_models_in_epidemiology. On the left pane, there is a link for `Printable version`. If I click on it, it doesn't open the printable version of the page. It opens up Firefox's print dialogue window. In order to get a printable version of the page as a webpage in Firefox, I have to right-click the link, select `Copy Link Location`, then paste it into the address bar of a new tab.

can I get Firefox to open the printable version as a webpage by clicking the link, without having to copy and paste the underlying URL?

I am using Firefox version 75.0 (32-bit) on Windows 10 64-bit.

Half the time when I need to print websites to PDF, using print to pdf function, Firefox does not print the webpage properly. I know that I can probably go in the printing setting to change it for that page and that might fix the problem. But for my project, I need to do this nearly 150 websites everyday. So fiddling around with every other website and Firefox print setting is not an option. I have attached a sample print to PDF to show the problem. When I print, half the content is hidden. In contrast, whenever I use Google Chrome, I never have this issue. The default printing settings just work, every single time in Chrome. I don't want to switch to Chrome because I want to support the Mozilla/Firefox mission. But the minor issues in Firefox are frustrating.

Between the lack of a translation tool that can translate the webpage and the poor default printing setting, I am nearly ready to switch. Firefox developers, if you're reading this, please fix this printing issue. While you're at it, please add an inbuilt webpage translation tool. Nobody want to copy and past webpages to translate them. I really want to stick with Mozilla, but you have to improve these little features within the browser.

Actually never mind, cannot attach the pdf to show the issue in this forum. FANTASTIC (sarcasm)! Here is a sample screen shot instead. It shows what the print out looks like when "print to pdf" file is saved.
