I know I can right click on a Tab and pin it to the tab bar as a no text tab. My question is can I pin it to my windows taskbar? Reasons for asking. I want to know when new messages are posted to a bulletin board site. The pinned tab shows the number of new messages but that only works when my browser if open. I would really like it to work when my browser is not open Suggestions?

I used to have any link open in a new tab, but stay focused on the current one. DuckDuckGo search results opened new tabs but stayed on the search results page. I can no longer do that and can't figure out what changed or how to return it to this behavior.

There are a number of threads/articles on this, such as: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1341031
They don't include that if "Clear History when Firefox is Closed" is checked, that even though settings are set to open previous tabs, everything is lost. There are options for that setting but it has wiped out my previous sessions a few times with no recovery available. I have always forgotten which setting does that even when it happens, so am hoping the threads/articles will be updated to include it for fixing the problem. It seems these settings are in conflict though and not clear. If Open Previous Windows and Tabs is set to on, I think it should override wiping people's tabs out in other settings that are buried or not as intuitive.

I turned on my laptop today and Firefox would not load. I restarted several times and same results so I clicked on "refresh firefox."
The browser opened after that. However, the tabs are on the top of the browser. I've had Firefox for probably close to twenty years now with no changes to how my browser is laid out.
I am also missing the search box and the "home website" bookmark shaped like a house that was on each side of the browser bar.
How do I fix this without hacking into the code that some suggest??
I cannot believe that Firefox would do such drastic changes without an option to change it back or opt out.
Please help. I've been on this browser configured exactly to my needs for almost two decades now and it is VERY frustrating.
Thank you in advance.
Hi. My pinned tabs disappeared. I need to individually search them in History? Or there's another way to find them?
tabs will not shrink, forcing me to scroll left or right to see my opened tabs - I prefer it to shrink the tabs like edge and crome
I don't want tabs to close when shutting down. WHy is it happening tody

in firefox windows: I don't know the technical terms for this, so don't assume I'm using "reload" correctly - or anything else. every time i switch back and forth between tabs, the tab i return to suddenly goes blank and reloads. It can take 1-15 seconds every time I switch tabs, but sometimes I can switch back and the tab is the same as I left it without blinking out and into existence. On certain sites, this makes whatever I was reading get lost in the feed, but it's always distracting and frustrating. I work fast between lots and lots of tabs and this eats a lot of time and makes me lose focus, and adds massive friction to my workflow. How do i make it keep tabs loaded and looking as they did when i switched out of them, instead of pretending I just typed in the url and loading that from scratch every time? I'm not the best with technical terms if anybody knows this can you explain it like I'm five please? Pictured: a tab I switched out of a little while ago but needed to copy something off - it went blank and slowly re-loaded when I switched back over to it

If I got to this website https://www.endesaclientes.pt/uPortal2/MyEndesa/index.html#/login, right now, it is in maintenance mode. It's tab label shows up as "Em manutenção..." when it should display "Em manutenção". In case this text field munges my text, see image of the tab, and the letters between "uten" and the final "o" are supposed to be a c with a cedilla and an a with a tilde.
Do I need to change my configuration to add the proper font in tabs?
Firefox sometimes log me out of all my open tabs.

Warum? Wie muss die Adresse genau aussehen? *.jpg, *.png? etc. Alles versucht. Bitte Beispiel! Ggf. Einstellungen? PC-Einstellungen? Meine Firefox-Version ist aktuell und 110.0.1. (64 Bit)
Was ist da los? Bitte um Ihre Hilfe Klaus Stärk

However, this all appears in a single text box. This is inconvenient whenever I want to change anything here. Is there any way to instead have each page appear in its own unique text box so that I can have an easier time editing any of them? Thank you.

I am using a Linux based system for my Laptop but still need to access and edit some files from a OneDrive Cloud. Whenever I try to clean up my files I open them to see if they can be deleted which will open a session in a separate tab. The problem is when I close that tab Firefox seems to keep that session active which will render me unable to delete a file because OneDrive sees, that it is still opened. (See attached Screenshot) Is this a problem with Firefox not closing sessions properly when closing tabs?
