For years I've used Firefox and the AllAboutBirds.com website with no trouble. A few weeks ago Firefox started freezing up whenever I used the website. The website is for bird identification and has videos, sound clips, comparative photos, etc. FIrefox usually doesn't freeze up immediately when the website opens, only after I've clicked a link or two -- but it doesn't seem to matter which links. I just updated Adobe Flash and that does not help. As noted above, I can use the website with Safari, but I prefer to use Firefox. This does not happen on any other website I've visited.
Any suggestions welcome. Thanks!

48.0.2 on Mountain Lion 10.8.5. Fullscreen video on the CNN site plays initially, then stops with a circling round arrow. Lately it has started to do this with that video on the side as you scroll down the screen, as well. Very maddening. No problems on other sites. If I cannot fix this quickly and simply I will have to go to Chrome. Updated flash yesterday, no joy. Suggestions welcome. Thank you

My MacPro (note: not MacBookPro) is 10.7.5. Therefore, (according to your instructions where I first started to try updating my Firefox) I cannot update my Firefox (because updating is not available for 10.7.5 but only for 10.9 and up) but must install (I quote) " a secure version of Firefox." Unfortunately, your instructions do not tell me where I can find a secure version of Firefox. I'll keep looking but a hint would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

When dragging files from download manager to the desktop (or other folder) the files dont end up there. Instead it creates a .txt file with the name and some linking. Inside the file is a link to the file (in this case file:///home/magnus/Dokument/new_identity-logo-firefox.png). It was not like this before, dragging have been working like expected (moving the file) but now stopped working. The problem is the same if i press "Show all downloads" and try dragging from that windows ("Library").

After my laptop is discharged, when the browser is turned on, I discovered that all my saved passwords are lost. Hallo I use Firefox 48.0.1 on a MacBook with OS 10.11.6
Since some versions of Firefox, I don't know exactly since when, each time, I open the bookmark library or even if I set or change an existing bookmark, Firefox stops, the spinning wheel is visible and after about 20 seconds Firefox continues to be usable. This issue continues each time I do something with my bookmarks. I found that it is related to Firefox Sync. If I disable Sync, no problems at all. How can I fix this? Firefox is nearly unusable like this, because I depend strongly on the bookmarks. I have around 4000 Bookmarks. I already exported them, deleted all and imported again, no change. On my PC (Windows 8.1 - 64 Bit) I have not at all this problem.
Thanks
frank
PS.: I had to use a Proxy Server from US to get to this support page. I am in germany and there is no real german support page. Only a link to a user forum, where nobody can help if there are real bugs in Firefox like this, e.g. Is there another, maybe easier way, to get to this very support page than to cheat with proxy? Thanks

At random (apparently...) times, the "plug-in Container for Firefox (32 bit)" will either go into what appears (to this experienced programmer...) to be an infinite loop, or crash altogether. The website being displayed apparently doesn't matter, as long as it uses Flash or JAVA. I've had the problem with: Xfinity E-mail, Flickr, and this very support website. This is frustrating as all get-out, and is forcing me to consider going to Chrome as my primary Web-reader, when I've been a dedicated Firefox user since the single-digit versions...

Hi, FireFox is the only browser compatible with ZoomText (other browsers display blurred/pixelated fonts). A recent update of FireFox made it display blurred fonts in ZoomText as in the other browsers. 1. "use hardware acceleration when available" was set to "false" 2. ZoomText version is: 10.11.6.5 (51092) 3. FireFox version : 49.01
I uninstalled FireFox and installed a previous version 48.02 and the problem was solved. Do you know what's the reason for this?
Thank you, Avishay

Macbook Pro, 2011, 8Gb, OS 10.6.8, OS up to date. Crash on Quit happens on every version of Firefox for a year. Did FF Reset, no better. Cannot use Safe Mode since the websites I visit play videos.
If I visit several sites in succession, most notably huffpost.com, click on several links (and opening new windows as I do), Firefox runs slower and slower and slower. After browsing, with all windows closed, when I quit FF the pinwheel appears, and about 30 seconds later Crash Reporter opens up, which I dutifully fill in. (Note that I have never, ever received any feedback for the over 100 reports filed. Is anybody actually looking at them?) This happens daily, although not in every browsing session. I can minimize the crashing by quitting FF frequently. The more I hyperlink, the more likely FF will crash on Quit.
I recently told FF to erase History on Quit, hoping that would help. It did not.
Something is happening in FF when it is releasing resources prior to quit. It gets worse the more URLs are visited in a browsing session.
I can't believe this is not happening elsewhere.
