Hey all,
Some day (I suspect it was 2024-06-06), Firefox lost all my browsing history after starting it back up from a crash or an upgrade. I didn't have the time to investigate the cause of this problem back then, but now I need some information from my old browsing history before that date. Interestingly, History -> 'Show all History' -> 'Import and Backup' -> 'Restore' lists a couple of dates well before the aforementioned date of data loss.
Are these dates automatically created recovery points (backups), and if so, when/under which circumstances does Firefox create such a backup?
Where in the filesystem (Linux)/ Firefox profile does the backup data reside?
I don't want to recover that old history data since that means to replace my recent browsing history. (How) can I view/extract these browsing history backups without going through an actual backup recovery process? (E.g. like, I can do with SQLite/SQLitebrowser and the places.sqlite file)?
(I installed Firefox from Ubuntu packages on my Debian Bookworm system. I don't know which version it was back then. Could have been 126)
Thank you very much!
