Why can a stupid failing script on a web-page, or even intentionally so programmed script disable the copy (and sometimes paste) functionality?

How can this be disabled/fixed?

One highlights a text (any text) on some web sites, Edit menu allows Copy, context menu allows Copy, one hits Copy, nothing happens. It's not even a page where someone wanted to "copy protect" some information.

Copy and Paste should work just as advertised since those were invented, how hard can it be to get that right? Even stupid Notepad never fails at it. And no, I don't care what the idiot who programmed a page though would be/should be best for me, I want Copy to be copy, Paste to be paste. This used to work in "original" Firefoxes even when page developers wanted to make it not work.

And yes, while on a given page Copy fails miserably, at the same time in other pages it works.

How to add background image to default Firefox homepage and new tab page in windows 10? The present default is showing just white color in background....I want to add my custom background image(not a solid color) to it like chrome browser.

I just installed Brave, and clicked on "Import settings & bookmarks", then chose Firefox from a popup list

Without typing my password, or doing anything else, Brave then instantly imported all of the saved passwords that I had stored in Firefox. I can now view all of my most secret saved passwords of Firefox... in Brave

This makes me wonder, if Brave can instantly import (and display in clear text) all of my Firefox saved passwords, couldn't any other rogue app do exactly the same?

Shouldn't they be stored in an encrypted format, at least?

Am I missing something or are the passwords wide open that Firefox saves?

I have never and will never use Facebook but I keep getting these annoying little square pop ups with the Facebook icon in them regardless. I have read the fixes on the web for this but they all assume you are using Facebook which I am not. So is there any way to stop this happening? It is incredibly annoying especially as I detest Facebook and all the problems it is causing in society.

That download progress icon on the upper right used to always work and lately it has stopped. I have version 84.0.2 for Ubuntu Linux. I click on it and nothing happens. I like to check the speed to see if maybe I should switch to a different VPN server or not.

My logins and passwords keep getting removed. I have to go and place a copy of the key4, logins, and logins.json back into the folder. Every few days the logins and passwords shows no synced logins found.

I sometimes copy and paste things from websites onto word documents. I like to keep the same style font/spacing/etc. when I do. When I use Chrome or Explorer or Edge the font and spacing stays the way it looks on the webpage, when I use Firefox it changes to the default (Times New Roman, double spaced, etc.). If I use "Merge Fonts" it only pastes to what the last thing I typed looked like (not what I want), and if I start a new document and paste something there, it's back to the default settings. Is there anyway to get this working the way I want it, or am I going to have to go back to a different browser for this particular issue?

a tech scam popped up on my firefox, I didn't call number, tried to end task, but tab kept commeing back and blocking. so I uninstalled firefox, and changed my password. I just want to know if it will be safe to download and use again? thank you

How can I contact Mozilla to remove a link to a page that no longer exists? The page was taken down, but all the info on the page pops up on the link when I search.

All of a sudden - Both of these websites below give me 403 errors. I cleared the CACHE, rebooted, checked the other settings - Nothing has been changed and I have the most recent FF version installed - 84.0.2 Also both of these can be accessed from any other browser - so it must be a FF issue.

I have used both sites for a long time with no access issues.

The drop-down list with known usernames and passwords extends until below the screen if there is a sufficient number of usernames stored. The funny thing is that the list is scrollable by mouse and arrow (up/down) keys, so it wouldn't be necessary to extend the list that far down. Just until the lower boundary of the current firefox windowwould have been sufficient.

The result is that I can't see (nor select) the usernames that are listed below the screen.

Firefox 75 64 bit on Fedora 32.

I hope this description was clear enough as I'm hesitant to include a screenshot showing all usernames involved on those site.

For anyone who wonders why so many logins: it's a list of email adresses currently in use in a webmail service.

Just recently I lost the choice to select "simplify page" in print. I use it every day. I have Firefox 84 and print preview disappeared as well. So I select print and it does print preview the web pages but there is no choice to simplify the pages on top like Firefox says should be there. Please help!

I am trying to delete an address from the url autocomplete. I have tried "shift" "delete" and it works about half the time. This is one example that absolutely will not delete: flavourandsavour.com/

Can someone please help me? I am about ready to quit using Firefox because this is so annoying. I like using the auto populate but why can't i delete half of the urls I try to delete?

Firefox recently - now seeing ver. 84.0.02 in Jan 2021 - when trying to print a page in Firefox Browser is really poor and very difficult to use. What stupid programmer or Mozilla exec decided to take away the option to easily re-size (or "simplify pages") and then easily select pages which pages to print? Stupid decision - very stupid. Makes me decide to change from Firefox and go elsewhere for a browser!!! NOW I have to, when I print, go through an extra step of selecting ":Print using the system dialog..." to easily select double sided printing and select only desired pages. AND I STILL CANNOT RECONFIGURE THE ZOOM TO REDUCE AMOUNT OF PAPER USED!. Really, really a bad decision. Change back...or tell me how to get rid if this new Print Option Menu and go back or I just quit Firefox....quit Mozilla. (OK - I just went exploring and fond 'size adjustment' and 'print on two sides' under the options. Still pretty shitty and I am so pissed off by now, I am changing my primary/default browser and taking Firefox off my desktop, iPhone, iPad and laptop. So no reply is needed. Just pass this on to Mozilla and let them see what such unannounced changes does to their customer base. Stay safe...2021 is not looking any better than the last shitty year.
