About once a week or more, a very small FF icon will appear on my desktop after startup. It will have a string of letters under it, like this one: hqWyUevN . I have never clicked on these things and always pitch them into the trash bin. But I do wonder what it is, what it means, and if it's a security issue of some sort.

Please speak slowly and use simple words. I'm not all that tech savvy.

It seems to me that Firefox's DoH implementation is not just pointless but actually harmful. It is security theater. Let me explain:

• There is no fine-grained control
• There is no ability for the user to choose what level applies to what networks
• Default Protection provides no protection when there is a canary domain (trivial)
• Increased Protection provides no protection when the default provider fails (trivial)
• Max Protection requires manual intervention when the default provider fails
• Bonus: it's inconvenient or impossible to use on mobile

For DoH to be useful, the user has to invest effort they could better spend setting up a proper system-level solution.

We use a privacy technology vendor named OneTrust to power much of our privacy infrastructure.

This morning, two websites reported Firefox users are encountering site functionality problems when trying to exercise their privacy rights, such as opting out of sharing data and targeted advertising. My team investigated and was able to reproduce the reported bug.

We discovered the cause of the bug is that Firefox's Privacy Enhanced Mode is by default blocking two domains from our privacy vendor OneTrust which are critical to the functioning of our CMP (Consent Management Platform): - cookielaw.org - onetrust.com

These two domains are used solely for the essential services needed to run our privacy software. They're not used for marketing, sales, or advertising. Blocking them not only causes site functionality issues it keeps our users from being able to exercise their privacy rights.

I've attached two screenshots here showing the network calls and domains.

Can Mozilla please quickly review this bug and remove these two domains from the blocklist powering Privacy Enhanced Mode?

I have an overactive spam folder. I have added numerous websites/emails to my contact list several times and these senders are still sent to the spam folder. I have to check spam and inbox folders for my legit emails. I have used FF for years and not had this problem! It is making me want to change my settings and forget FireFox!

I recently installed Firefox. Now I get highly suspect popups in the lower right corner of the screen labelled "Mozilla Firefox" but from "c.togetherloveme.buzz". I certainly hope that Mozilla is not complicit in this, and in any event want these popups to end.

windows 11, alas

I just received this on my iMac: “You have an unsent crash report related to crashes being investigated, etc.” Following this, I ended up with page after page of information and options. This is dense and confusing and many options seem like they're asking me to provide information or choose certain things that may create serious and damaging situations. I don't like it and I don't even know if it's legitimate. You have no phone support. With all this confusion I am considering moving on to another browser. I use firefox as my browser of choice because it seems to be the only large browser not yet completely flooded with AI slop and bloatware. I'm incredibly disappointed that the new direction seems to be "becoming a modern AI browser". I don't care if I can opt-in or opt-out of AI tools for my personal browser experience - simply their presence presents a safety, efficiency, ethical and privacy concern.

The ONE THING that puts firefox above other browsers and why it is gaining more users recently is because it hasn't jumped into the AI-toilet along with Chrome etc. Yet. If Firefox moves forward with the implementation of more AI tools, regardless of individual opt-in options, I will have no choice but to stop using firefox. I am simply not interested in wading through excrement.

I have happily used Firefox for years now, but I avoid using AI for both privacy and environmental reasons. I am extremely concerned by Mozilla's increased emphasis on these technologies. I do not want, nor will I put up with, new AI features in my browser. If the company continues this push, I will move to a different browser. It'll be very annoying, and I'll be really upset about it, but it's what I'll have to do if y'all keep going down this path. Please stop.

I want to use a fingerprint reader for login.gov and id.me but do not seem to be able to get my just added fingerprint reader to be usable by Firefox (129). It identifies in hardware as a CS9711Fingprint. Anyone have any input about this?

why have captcha at all....paypal usually send code after anyway...poor eyesight means the low res racist/usa images are not clear and there are apps for bypassing...i am fed up with doing them up to 10 times in a row

I WAS ON A SITE AND IT BROUGHT UP THE COOKIE PAGE FOR FIREFOX TO PROTECT ME FROM PEOPLE OR COMPANIES FROM TRACKING MY BROWSING AND I COULD NOT GET BACK TO MY PURCHASE PAGE APP ACOOUNT I WAS ON. SO WHAT HAPPEN & WHY DID THIS COME UP?

Hi I am a long time user of firefox because i love its customization and tools available to help me with my work and personal life. Recently i have been ordered to remove Firefox from the company laptop as it was deemed insecure by the IT and security department. I have been told to use MS edge and Google's Chrome. Their reasoning is "An inconsistent comparator in xslt/txNodeSorter could have resulted in potentially exploitable out-of-bounds access. Only affected version 122 and later. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 136 and Firefox ESR < 128.8." I do not know what this means. Is there something i can tell my IT department to argue against the directive to only use either Edge or Chrome. Best regards, F Silva
