I'm tired of trying to find a solution to this problem, you're deaf!

I have been using Firefox since 2003. to avoid writing unnecessary words, I will simply state, I will leave firefox if you do not eliminate this problem:

firefox eats up all the RAM on my Mac. It is none of your business whether I open 1 tab or 10 tabs, give me the ability to limit the memory used by firefox, otherwise it eats up all the computer's memory.

I just started having an issue with my browser where every time I tab out of a tab playing media, the pop-out video appears on its own. It's quite annoying. How do I stop this from automatically happening?

I loved the picture-in-picture mode. However, when I closed the picture in picture mode, the video automatically stopped. Is there any ways where the video still plays even after I closed the picture in picture mode?

So I just updated to Firefox version 142.0, and noticed there is a picture in picture option in the URL bar now. Don't get me wrong. I get the idea, but it's not for me. Is there an option to turn this off within the Firefox settings? I'm currently still on Windows 10— which I'm grateful Firefox is still supporting at the moment— version 1909 and the picture in picture controls setting is currently unchecked but still shows up in the URL bar for some reason. Can anyone help with this?

In the latest build PIP for YouTube only showing half the video window. Phone restart and app update didn't fix it.

It says on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/about-picture-picture-firefox#w_keyboard-shortcuts that the hotkey to toggle `PiP is CTRL Shift ]`. When I play a video it shows the PiP button, but the hotkey doesn't work. The other PiP keys like seeking and volume work. I'm on Fedora 41 with KDE 6.3.3 & Wayland.

We are unable to stop playback from the controls in the PIP window for Apple TV when the video playback was started in the main browser window. If we press the control the playbacks stops for a fraction of a second and continues again. Other controls like mute etc. are working as exspected.

If we start the playback in the PIP window we are able to stop it!

If we use Youtube or Amazon as a video source the problem does not show.

If we use Troubleshoot Mode we get exactly the same behaviour.

Any Ideas?

The picture-in-picture setting use to keep the detached video visible if I scrolled the original or source page past the video player. Now the detached video disappears and reverts back to the source page when I scroll this control out of view. Is this change intentional and permanent?

some sites do this. https://abcnews.com/ is simply one. When I go to the site, and start scrolling down, a picture-in-picture appears and stays. How do I totally kill this behaviour? - for any and all sites. I do not have anything set in labs. I tried about:config but don't know which one to choose - there are many. I googled hoping uBlock Origin would help but didn't find anything. I only see setting to enable it in FF and it is unchecked so I assume it would be off, but, no, it pops up anyway. I don't want it. Never did. I don't like it. It gets in my way of browsing.

Hello. For a while now I have been using the picture-in-picture feature to play a video in the corner while using other applications. It has been a great help as I have a single monitor.

Unfortunately, I have recently been encountering a severe issue with the feature over the last week. When attempting to use picture-in-picture while my computer is running a videogame (through Steam) my entire system will freeze. The audio still plays as normal, but the image is frozen and the system is unresponsive until I force a shutdown and reboot.

Any help at all in with this issue would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

When I encounter an embedded video on a website that plays, an icon to toggle picture in picture pops up in the URL bar (see attached image). I don't use picture in picture, and for some websites which have an "endless scrolling" experience with videos, such as reddit or facebook, it is slightly annoying that while I am focusing the middle of the screen, something changes in the top right, making me think a tab has an update and changed title. I have the picture in picture controls turned off in settings (one with the id=pictureInPictureToggleEnabled in general, my Firefox is not English), I thought it would also make said button go away but it does not.

Just updated to version 142.0.1. I now have the annoying behaviour back that video's on a website pop out on the screen while scrolling on a webpage and they are in the way of the text. I don't want any videos popping out. In the past I had it resolved somehow, so it looks like the update "undid" these. If I'm correct I might have changed a setting in the about:config.

I found multiple articles stating to uncheck "Enable PIP controls" in the setings, section [General] - [Browsing]. This options was moved to the [Firefox Labs] section within the setting. This option however is already disabled.

How can I prevent a video popping out on the screen an float above the web page? I just want to keep it in the window\frame where it belongs.

Everytime I open firefox i have to enable Picture-in-picture in settings, because it somehow gets dissabled everytime i close out of firefox, its annoying and I dont how to fix it, and cant find anyone else having this same problem.

When Firefox updated 149.0.2 to 150. Every time, I am watching video any site when I click the pop out button Firefox crashes and sends a report. I copied the text file from two of them(last one copied to share data). I do disk image backups and went back to before the update 149.0.2. Turned off auto update in setting and everything is ok now. Any suggestions?
