When I record screencasts, I don't want people to see what extensions I'm using. For one, it's distracting, for second, it's a privacy issue.

In chrome (iron, opera...) I can quickly drag and resize the extensions area so nothing is seen. Fast an easy.

Is there a way to do this in Firefox. I am open to extensions or keyboard shortcuts as well!

(Pinning to overflow menu is not a solution. It takes many clicks and a long time.)

i updated firefox and my titlebar appeared (ive previously had no titlebar) how to i remove it now?

there isnt a checkbox that used to be in customize

could anyone help me remove the titlebar? im on Linux

I set the colors of visited links and unvisited links in [Options]-[General]-[Language and Appearance]-[Color].

If you want to take effect, you need to select [All] in [Use the color you selected above to overwrite the color specified on the page]

In this way, all styles of all website pages: text color and background color are all changed.

Is there a way to only change the color of the link, while the text and background colors still use the web page's own; or specify that only the domain name pages in the list list use the specified color, and the website's own default color is used for those that are not explicitly specified?

Hi there - I want to keep my history. I want to SAVE my browsing history. I do NOT want my history to disappear. I cannot find how to do this. There are Many ways to DELETE history, but how do I prevent mine from disappearing. Mine disappears every day and I want to SAVE my history. Fourth time of asking! Please help. Thanks Pete

Hello guys. I want to open PDF directly in the browser. I set checkboxes to do it automatically but firefox always displayed this window when I want to download pdf. Could you help me?

Firefox updated on my work machine concurrent to a machine self-restart and VPN update. The VPN update bricked my access to shared drives for my work network so I assumed the issue lie somewhere with lack of internet access and inability to connect to said network. Now the VPN is up and running with normal file access restored, but all my FireFox info is gone. I see on my desktop a file called Old FireFox data and begin googling the recovery process. I generated a new profile in FireFox and copied over all files from the old profile to the new including key4.db and logins.json to no avail.

There are no passwords, no login info, no cookies, no bookmarks, nothing is left. Also, I cannot copy any of these files. I can only move them for some reason. I've tried to back up these files, but they are move-only somehow.

Any advice?

i have too many task bars at the top of my windows. Like yahoo,My Web Search, Alot and Shop At Home.com how do i get rid of these bars?

I have allowed auto updates of FF to version 17 For all of the updates since I thin FF15 Kasp PM has failed to work with FF but works fine with IE (this is of course highly irritating). The Kasp website forum keeps issuing patches that it claims fix the problem but they don't. The add-on manager in FF always reports PM as incompatible and disabled. Has anyone had this problem and worked out a fix. The Kasp forum showed a bit of interest in my posts but now never seems to answer.

My McAfee SiteAdvisors is activated but doesnt show in the add-on bar. I double checked the situation under « Tool, Add-on, Extensions » and the add-on is enable. Also the « Add-on bar » is activated.The green McAfee SiteAdvisor button dissapeared after firefox update 16.02. I updated to 17 in case it would resolve the problem with no success. McAfee is still working by giving a warning page if I try to go on a suspiscious site. Also in google search result I no longer get the little McAfee evaluation icones.

Upgraded to FF17 from FF16. Noticed that when I scroll w/ my mouse it jumps about 5 or 6 lines, versus 16's 3 or so. Also, the old mouse shortcut of alt+mousescroll to scroll line by line is gone. A google search netted me the Gecko wiki explaining all the new mouse scrolling options under about:config, but it was mostly over my head. One part I did understand is the loss of the old "mousewheel.withnokey.numlines" and "mousewheel.withnokey.sysnumlines" strings.

I figured it out by changing mousewheel.system_scroll_override_on_root_content.enabled to "false", and it is working at the same speed as it did under FF16, but the ability that alt+mousescroll provided is still missing. Having the ability to customize the mouse scroll speed (instead of turning off the system scroll override) is still outside of my grasp as well.

I love Firefox, but I have 2 distinctly different needs. I need 2 separate Firefox browsers with very different settings, consistent with very different uses:

1. This use of Firefox will be for visiting many different websites, a wide variety of interests.

2. I need this use of Firefox to be very limited and restricted, consistent with handling personal investments, banking, financial transactions. There will be very few websites, but with extremely secure, private, connections.

You used to be able to go into the omni.ja file and change lines in the nsLoginManagerPrompter.js to make it so FF saved passwords automatically without stupid popups. I tried this in FF17 and replaced the omni.ja with the edited version. As soon as I open FF Crashes.. Does anyone have a work around?

. I cant get Yahoo mail to appear as a default mail option for firefox:

because I cant proceed past the "scroll down to 'mailto' in the 'apps' step of the instructions provided by Support.   I'm stuck there because 'mailto' isn't on the list. 

Right clicking on Outlook(the current email default I cant get rid of)does nothing.

Ive since modified Micro Office and deleted Outlook entirely, but that didn't make Yahoo Mail magically appear as an option anywhere.

I cant get Yahoo mail to appear as an option for default email for Windows 7 either. I can get to the page where you may choose how Windows uses various defaults, but Yahoo isn't there.

I downloaded the latest Yahoo toolbar as I had in the past for IE and nothing changed (what I DID get stuck with is an irritating as hell, loud alert tone that sounds with every email I get--even when there's music playing or a movie on--and flashes me a constant reminder on lower left of screen that I have 785 unread messages)

i can not get to options window-content panel-where i was told i can drag it to my desk top if you have a link or any way other then that i can get this resolved. on ie all i had to do was right click my mouse.please help thank you sal

I am trying to get rid of the bar asking me to help or no on startup I have followed instructions re general /advanced/submit performance data but it will not go away!
