Still happens with extensions disabled (Ublock origin, Proton Pass) Started happening since Dec. 5, 2025 System is current with all Debian?Ubuntu updates installed (daily refreshes) Linux Kernel 6.8 on Lenovo Yoga i7 (ca. 2022) with Intel i5 & Intel graphics

On Windows 11 24H2, Firefox 145.0.2, I click file link and select "Save as" on Firefox file open dialog, firefox display "Windows's file dialog was crashed. File will saved as C:\Users\xxx\Downloads\xxxxxxxx.xxx". And downloaded file size is 0. This occurs with any file.

I tryed same operation on troubleshooting mode, and same result. Please tell me the solution.

I opened a profile that I had just used recently to a blank tab bar. I closed it and the sessionstore-backup folder did not have a recent backup, The most recent about a week old.

Just for testing, I tried to restore with one of the upgrade.jsonlz4 file, about 2 weeks old, but it also had no session. I then restored one that was 2 months old. That one had a session

Now, Firefox no longer generates the upgrade.jsonlz4 files

Evil Corp (aka Microsoft) updated my Windows 11 PC from 24H2 to 25H2 and now I cannot access quite a few websites (i.e. Amazon, Bank!, etc.) and some take a long time to load (surprisingly, my Firefox Home page...Google...also takes a while to load) . I searched the internet and found many so called fixes and most are very complicated and many contradict others. A lot of them say to disable DNS and reset network stack (using the command prompt) which I do not know how to do even though I worked in the tech business for 40 yrs (mainly data networking)...I retired 20 yrs ago...so I'm old...so I'm not as savvy with computers as I used to be. I tried changing a few Firefox settings, but nothing worked, so I changed them back to the original settings that worked before the update. If someone could give me detailed (and hopefully simple) instructions to resolve this issue, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm am in a bind, so a timely response would be great. I am not able to access my emails in Yahoo Mail. Can't even send emails. Tried accessing Yahoo Mail using Chrome and did not encounter any accessibility problems.

Hi, there.

After performing the most recent Firefox update, I was greeted with the "create a new profile prompt", rather than having it open my old one. When going to "about:profiles", ALL FILES in the Root Directory of my old, default profile have the same date as the update, or after. Not a single file is older than that and all my history and bookmarks are gone. The option "Restore Previous Session" was not shown after the update.

PLEASE HELP!!

PS: This happened on a Macbook Pro. All other profiles are the same as they were before the update, having kept all history and bookmarks.

I recently upgraded Firefox to 145.0.1 but all my bookmarks are missing. I have a backup file. I tried to restore the bookmarks by opening the Library & selecting Restore (under Import & Backup), then clicking "Choose file". However, nothing happened; no further pop-up window. Please advise.

Is there going to be a native PWA for Firefox on Linux? I really would love to have it. I use Ubuntu on my laptop and really don't want to use a chrome browser or some weird workaround.

bold text how do i move bookmarks along the bookmarks tab

I have just bought a new computer. Got firefox working and I have bookmarks on the bookmarks tab below the search box.

I used to be able to move bookmark tabs along it and it was my main organisational method.

OR I would drag a url down from the search bar to put it on the bookmark tab below

neither of these methods work any longer and it is a real problem.

I cannot think of a worst thing you could have done.

Help how do i move a bookmark along the bookmark tab, or move a url to the bookmark tab, or move those bookmarks which I can't see to the visible section below the search bar

I've been having an issue of, whenever I tab into Firefox from a different application on my computer, the alt menu opens. Firefox seems to be interpreting me opening the program as pressing the alt key, because even when I have the menu bar set to always be open, the input immediately goes to the "File" dropdown option of the menu, just as it would if I pressed the alt key. However, I tried to troubleshoot this by 1. opening a program that tracks keyboard inputs and that didn't show such a thing happening, and 2. I checked if this issue was happening with other applications that have switch the input to the upper menu bar when the alt key is pressed, and that was not the case. This is making it a lot harder to use Firefox, as using a keyboard shortcut to open a new window (ctrl+shift+p, or ctrl+i) while in a normal Firefox tab, it will not automatically open to the new window (as it is set to do automatically), it will also not let me open the new window -- either by alt-tabbing or by clicking the new window on the windows taskbar -- and instead reopens the alt menu and sets the input to that menu, locking me to the original Firefox page unless I tab into a completely different application and then into the new window. This issue also makes me unable to input key commands or text into my active tab immediately when I reopen it, instead forcing me to close the alt menu first either or clicking somewhere on the page. And since I don't keep the alt menu visible at all times, this forces the screen to shift up and down jarringly when I'm simply trying to use the computer.

I'm using Firefox on a Windows 11 computer. I've tried refreshing Firefox and have tried my absolute best to find articles related to this issue but to no luck. Thanks for any help or advice!

In many cases when one opens a new tab, the new one is opened on the right of the "parent tab". After reading the web page of the new tab, one often decides that the new tab is no longer useful and deletes it. Firefox automatically opens the tab on the right of the deleted tab, rather than resuming the "parent tab" on the left. This seems to be an ineffective design as probabilistically there are perhaps >90% chance one wants to go back to the "parent tab".

Q1: should Firefox change the default for resuming the left? Q2: is there a setting that user can change?

I use Firefox specifically because I appreciate(d) the flexibility and the privacy. Default AI makes it significantly more difficult to customize the browser to my preferences (ie, zero AI anywhere) and threatens the privacy that Firefox is known and recognized for. This is an absolutely incomprehensible decisions; it is no longer a "trustworthy" browser if it incorporates AI. Why ruin a good thing??

For the past few days, I haven't been able to use Google Lens for searches. Why? It used to work, and I haven't changed anything on my computer.

I read the support article about this problem: everything seems fine, Google is definitely my search engine... Can you tell me what I need to do to get it working again? Thank you
