I have a customer who is unable to browse to any websites after version 81.0.2 was installed. They are also unable to open Options and other Menu items. Only Toolbar Menu item that worked was Help > About. I have tried using Firefox in Safe Mode, I have refreshed Firefox, and I have renamed the AppData > Roaming > Mozilla folder forcing it to create a brand new user profile. The only security programs running are Windows Defender. Chrome and Edge work fine, so customer will use one of those until Firefox is fixed.

This feature is not working in Firefox. When clicking on the dictation icon an error message is received to the effect that Onenote does not have access to the laptops microphone. Onenote definetely does have the permission needed in Firefox, both in the page info and in the options. This feature works well in Edge.

I am finding this on two laptops one using Windows 10 Pro the other Windows 10 Home. Both are up to date. Therefore I assume that this is a bug in FF?

Running Windows 10 with Firefox and a WiFi connection.

Running with multiple applications and my internet connection works fine with them. Running other browsers such as Chrome and my connection works fine. I open Firefox, and start going to different websites then soon thereafter Firefox websites aren't loading anymore on Firefox. I go to my other applications and browsers and they can no longer access the internet. They act as if there is no internet connection.

I go to my internet settings and all shows still connected fine, although nothing that connects to the internet works. I try to disconnect my connection (with the internet settings) and then re-connect it. It doesn't change anything. To clear this up, I have to go to my internet router and shut it down and wait for it to come back up and reconnect, then I can use internet applications again, until I go on to Firefox and the issue recurs again.

This just started happening a couple days ago, as I had been using Firefox fine for 2 years on this new Thinkpad.

Please help.

I had the "Restore previous session" checked at the Startup, so every time I closed and reopened Firefox my previous tabs used to appear. However, this last time I closed Firefox, when I reopened I saw Firefox is installing update message (81.0.2), then none of the previous tabs came back.

Startup still has the same 'restore previuos session' checked.

Thanks.

Hi. I was a constant user of Firefox until a year or so ago. The bloat came in and I followed the hordes to Chrome. Chrome now has similar problems, (21 instances for 3 sites? Really?), so I looked into Firefox once more and found it has apparently been updated. I took the plunge and reinstalled looking forward to easier browsing again. Hmmm.

I am a user of ebay and pay via Paypal. (Just saying that, I guess some of you know what is coming now.) I use Eset Internet Security which has always been very secure, easy to manage and has never given a problem with ebay or Paypal in any way with Chrome. I have it set to open a separate secure browser for Paypal transactions. Using Firefox I cannot get any Paypal transaction to complete.

It has a variety of issues which I seem to meet at random on the way. Sometimes it just refuses to start, the circling icon sits in the small secure browser screen which is empty white and spins ad infinitum. Sometimes it gets to an authentication screen with a picture of a code to type in, except the code is missing and the box is empty white. If I refresh, it shows the code but the first entry is always incorrect then the second entry, if I am offered it, is accepted and I continue to login. Once the login details have been entered and I see the message confirming the data has been sent to www.paypal.com, sometimes it stalls here again and never gets beyond that. Very occasionally I get past this and see a yellow pling with the message "Looks like this action is not supported. Please return and report this error so that we can support it in the future. (invalid client_ID or redirect_uri)". Well I am reporting it but I'm not holding my breath as this problem has been around for months if other people are to be believed.

I have cleared all cookies and caches and restarted Firefox. Nothing. I found a thread here where someone advised turning off location blocking for Paypal. No difference. Payments go through fine with Chrome so it can't be my security settings external to the browser, (Eset), and it can't be a Paypal issue. What is wrong with Firefox that such a necessary piece of functionality is either broken or is so unusual to set up that so many people, (I've searched so I have seen them), cannot make it work?

Any advice on this will be warmly welcomed.

Since switching to Firefox I'm experiencing some trouble regarding the playback of videos on different websites which I don't experience using other browsers. At seemingly random moments there are 'stripes' visible which are quite annoying watching a video (see image). I tried restarting Firefox with Add-ons disabled and unchecked 'Use hardware acceleration when available' in the preference section but this doesn't resolve anything. Any suggestions on how to solve this? Thanks in advance!

Now that Microsoft has moved to a Chrome based browser with the newest release of Edge, automatic, and fully functional website translations are now standard in both Edge and Chrome. I am a US Citizen, living in Mexico, that is not yet fully fluent in Spanish. This has severely limited my ability to use Firefox, which honestly, is a pretty big deal for me. I prefer Firefox for multiple reasons, but privacy is my major concern. Is Firefox working on a solution to this massive hole in Mozilla's browser product offering? Two major competitors are now offering automatic translation. What gives?

Last night I noticed my Windows 10 64 bit machine did an auto update. Not sure this has anything to do with today's problem; maybe coincidence.

Today I started the reference software "Zotero" and the program cannot find the database of my papers. This is of course crucial for writing grants, references for my class that I teach etc. I have never seen this error before.

In Zotero help, this is listed as a Firefox problem, with a reload and other steps as a solution. I am leery of messing with my database as it has years of publications in it.

Any chance you could advise me on this or get FF to fix this? It will likely happen with future updates. My Firefox browser version is 81.0.2 and is up to date.

P.S. If you hit the "locate" option Zotero closes. It will not allow you to search for the database (see image attached)

Thanks.

I'm presented with two pop-ups that I must dismiss, every time I restart the browser. The first one reads:

User Account Control | Do you want to allow this application to make changes to your device?

After dismissing that, a second pop-up appears, reading in part:

Firefox Software Updater | Firefox can't update to the latest version. | Download a fresh copy of Firefox and we'll help you to install it

Then I must choose either "Download Firefox" or "Not now."

Please understand that I must deal with these pop-ups despite the fact that my Firefox is current.

The solutions suggested in the answer to the above-referenced previous post are of no help.

I've consulted my computer manufacturer, which told me that this issue is strictly one with Firefox. I hope you can help.

Today I see that FB fails to load my profile photo album. I get a spinning circle, description and comments section to the right is blank (or photo loads but no description). I check my connection activity, it's basically at 10 kbps. I run some speed tests, no problem.

So I go to MS Edge, everything on FB loads in an instant.

So the problem is FF. And that's on top of the 50%-100% of CPU that every click on FB produces. I compared it with Edge, 5%-50% of CPU.

So before I give up on FF and switch to Edge, can someone recommend another version of FF that is relatively lightweight for a low spec laptop? The latest version is a no go, as I understand it needs at least 8-16 GB of memory (!).

Thank you.

I was logged into a website which hanged and when I tried to log back on it started giving me the error PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR .I've tried to troubleshoot with all the help I could get on these pages and others, I'm at my wits end. The website works on my phone browser, so it's clearly this laptop or my internet dongle.

It's also happening across all browsers. I don't have VPN or antivirus software on except Microsoft Essentials. I've tried removing real time protection on that but it didn't work. I tried creating a new profile of Firefox, nothing. I tried going to about:config page and setting security.ssl.enable_ocsp_stapling to false, nothing so set it back to true I've gone to task manager to see whether there is a task don't recognise so I can stop it, nothing. Pleeeease heeeelp meeeeee!

Hey!

I just formated mywindows 10 pc, installed firefox, and logged in, and usually all my bookmarks and saved logins return after i log my firefox account on, but they didnt this time, im afraid i somehow overwrote the saved data, and now im without logins and bookmarks, i have googled and have tried going to archive and restoring, and i can only see a backup from today there, im afraid thats the one i made myself - its also saying 11 items, the backup, and i had way more, anyway when i click it, nothing happens.

I tried going to the firefox profile section, there was 2 profiles, none had my back up

Thx in advance!
