Hi. Starting somewhat recently, Firefox has been getting in the way of me downloading certain PDFs which I know to be fine but which it thinks are insecure or a security hazard. I'd like to disable this security "feature" permanently. How can I do this? Thanks!

I need to be able to temporarily disable my ad blocker: I keep getting popups saying that an ad blocker has prevented me from accessing a certain site, or that it's interfering with a site's fraud protection settings. I'm running Windows 10 and Windows Security, and also MalwareBytes...but neither of them appear to contain an ad blocker. Is it Firefox?

Using Firefox 68.12.0ESR. I know 78 is available, I just haven't had the time to test it yet. I delete cookies when I exit Firefox. I want to keep some for sites that I trust, such as this site. I've added exceptions to Allow these trusted sites as documented on a thread somewhere else, but it doesn't work. All cookies are deleted.

Is it possible to keep cookies only for a select group of sites. eg. support.mozilla.com, tomshardware.com, mydigitallife.net, speedtest.net and so on.

Thank you.

Right now, I'm logged in my Firefox account and have everything backed up (logins and passwords, bookmarks, history, etc). Thing is, I do not remember my Firefox account password, but thankfully I am logged in and synced through 3 devices. I think, there may be a situation when some time in the future, I will be logged out one way or another.

Is there a way to see my Firefox account password, since changing password results in everything being deleted? I want to not get involved in such a hassle of exporting and importing data, if I can help it.

Thanks in advance.

Getting error SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN on all my sites that are signed with a SSL Cert from my internal CA since updating past version 99

This appears to be a bug starting after Firefox version 99 on Windows because after i upgraded to Firefox version 100 i started getting this on all my SSL Certs from my CA and they worked fine prior to the update. Can anyone confirm if something changed after version 100 that is causing this?

Thank you.

I have a few add-ons installed in Firefox (85.0.1, 64-bit, under Windows 10, 1909), but when I open a Private Browsing window, I can no longer access them. True, they are still there and can be seen listed under Menu/Add-ons, but I don't see how to control them there, only enable or disable them.

If I want to use NoScript (for example) in a Private Browsing window, how do I set Firefox up to do that? -- jclarkw

Hi all,

I'm a MacOS (v.10.15.6) user, and I've been trying to get rid of the "Your browser is being managed by your organisation" on FireFox (v.80.0.1) without any success. This is the detail of the "Enterprise Policy" that's blocking: ExtensionSettings {"{443830f0-1fff-4f9a-aa1e-444bafbc7319}":{"installation_mode":"blocked"},"{02274e0c-d135-45f0-8a9c-32b35110e10d}":{"installation_mode":"blocked"}}

What I have tried: - I have uninstalled and deleted all Avast (& other antivirus related apps - I just kept "Clean my mac" but I suppose that's not the core of the issue?) (binned & through a ~/Library/ search) - I quit all apps that seemed suspicious in the Activity Monitor - I have unistalled the previous version of FireFox (& deleted all packages found on ~/Library/ and reinstalled all again

Note: the extension seems to be applied only on FireFox as my Chrome browser seems to be running normally so far.

I've restared my Mac every time I'd do something to make sure it'd sync somehow but nothing works. I still get teh same "Your browser is being managed by your organisation" on my latest FireFox version (v.80.0.1).

What can I do? Thanks a lot!

I have Firefox 84.0.1 on Linux Mint, and I have filled in the information for one credit card. When I hover over credit card fields on retail site forms, I usually (but not always) get a pop-up "hint" showing the card number and/or expiration date ... but I cannot get the browser to actually fill in the form field. I've tried clicking, hitting Enter, hitting Tab, but nothing actually puts the information from the pop-up into the form field. Any hints as to what part of the incantation I am missing would be appreciated.

The issue described here does not affect version 77.0.1 and earlier, only 78.0 and later.

Update: Wrote an complete analysis on this as HSTS for human beings HSTS for human beings

So, we have a number of internal sites employing a self-signed certificate with a CN not matching the hostname. As an example of such devices are HP iLOs, switches and a series of others that are now completely inaccebile through Firefox.

Up until version 77.0.1, we were getting the usual notofication about the two issues (not trusted and cn is wrong) but we could Add an exception and proceed.

After updating to version 78.0, proceeding is not offered as an option, due to HSTS requirments.

hostname.com has a security policy called HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), which means that Firefox can only connect to it securely. You can’t add an exception to visit this site.

Troubleshooting done already; Completely deleted everything (FF and profiles and start clean - same issue Renamed SiteSecurityServiceState.txt so FF can create a new one - same issue Imported the certificate into Firefox as an exception manually as per images attached - same issue

At this point, there is no way to access those sites no matter what we have done and the issue persists up to the latest current version of the browser.

Just as a hint, the same issue appeared the same period of time (during the summer) on Chrome and Chromium Edge.

This certificate file works perfectly fine on another browser.

I also had a problem on my Mac with Weather Channel and Weather Underground's Wundermap not loading on Firefox.

I launched Firefox in Safe Mode and the maps loaded with no problem. It turns out that the culprit preventing loading in my Firefox browser was the DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials extension. Since disabling it, the maps are back for the first time in at least a year. I had searched for the answer to my issues for that entire period with no luck. Now I don't have to open another browser for a decent weather map.

I hope this will help some of my fellow Firefoxers.
