Hi, On previous releases of firefox I could load 8 items across the home display. After upgrading I can only get 5 items and I can't find a way to increase this. I'm a new user so maybe I'm just dumb but I would appreciate some help. linux/ubuntu/firefox desktop. mike_a

Hi, since the last update for Mozilla on my laptop (version 153.0.1 (64 bit), all the website shortcuts in the Firefox homepage that I had pinned have disappeared. I also can't add new shortcuts. I checked in about:config and in browser.newtabpage.pinned the shortcuts are all there. The display settings for shortcuts are active.

Does anyone know how to resolve this?

I'm trying to add the world cup tracker to my home screen, but when i click the link, it just puts me in my new tab page with no changes. When I click the pencil edit icon, widgets are not an option for me. Is there a place I need to enable them?

Today I noticed there was not a new tab to click on at all times. There always has been. Now I have to go to File and open a New Tab. What changed? is there a setting to fix this? If so I can't find it.

Suddenly I cannot search from the search bar. It defaults to the address bar. why "fix" something that was not broken. Being forced to use the address bar is frustrating. If you go directly to the address bar, it tells you it cannot find that site.

I have selected the 4 rows for shortcuts on my tab and have installed all but the last 3 spaces in the end of the 4th row. There's no option whatsoever to continue to add those remaining 3 spaces. Any suggestions?

When I have stories (articles) recommended through Pocket on new tabs that I'm not interested in I will typically "thumbs down" or "dismiss" the story. What I have found recently is that causes them to be promoted to me more rather than less. I believe it's interpreting my interaction as engaging with the content rather than not wanting to see it again. For example, I was shown an article on American football three weeks ago and I gave it a thumbs down. Later that day it was three articles. I gave them the same thumbs down. After repeating this process for days, weeks later I'm still getting multiple articles recommended per day related to football. I've never read one out of interest, and I didn't have any recommendations related to sports until the first one I gave a thumbs down. Based on that, I'm convinced it's having the opposite than intended effect. Dismiss doesn't seem make a difference. Please give me a way to tune the algorithm to what I actually want to see, I like this feature and don't want to have to turn it off.

As title says, on my main profile, i dont see any option to use the new tab widgets function. If i make a new profile, it is there on default.

How to add it on my main profile?

I decided to switch back to "mainline". Opened Firefox after a while. Got a prompt to change my new tab wallpaper, I said no.

Closed and reopened Firefox. Then my new tab page was besmirched with "soccer" score nonsense.

What hidden/non-obvious setting do I need to change to have ALL of this and ANYTHING EVEN REMOTELY LIKE IT off FOREVER? I will never EVER want ANY suggestions for ANYTHING for the rest of time. I turned everything I could think of, including the labs or whatever off but this still came up.

The new feature Sports Widget is too generic does not even state what sports which game is it. Each individual will always have his/her preferred sports they follow so this needs a lot of improvements.

When opening a new window on firefox I see a "homepage" (No URL offered at the top of the page), offering some helpful, frequently used shortcut icons followed by a number of headings, i.e. : Popular Today, Connections, Featured Videos, etc., providing image/links to stories from various "news" or "interest" websites, which I can click on to view. Opening a number of these sites in order to view the advertised "story" require setting up a free, or paywall account/membership, etc.. How can I eliminate these undesirable/unwanted options from being "offered" or shown on my firefox homepage? Something may look interesting, but I'm not one to sign up, or pay to view these opportunities. I see where I can eliminate entire Categories, but what I'm trying to do is block, or eliminate the "offer to view" what I deem "unwanted offers to sign up to view this "story". Can this "Junk/Bait" be eliminated from my homepage on a site by site basis? As examples: CNN, Wired", "the cut", among others. Can the page be configured to eliminate the offering of "Non-Free", "Non-Membership", "Non-Signup" Sites? (Apologies for my lack of appropriate semantics, I'm just a user, not an Internet Expert, developer, or or software-savvy person.) As an aside, is there a way to contact a real live human person at Mozilla/Firefox to assist with issues like this, or answer related questions. All I seem to find are circular links to "Contact Mozilla", which bring me to unrelated FAQ databases, and user forums, etc., where I find I'm unable to get an answer to the question asked? So, I tried to delete that post, but it blocked the category of Science completely, so I had to unblock it.

But my point is, Why if I do not want to see this post about Seniors getting bathroom upgrades and I try to delete it does it make an entire category go away? I am sorry, but this is just goofy (trying to be polite here).

This is simply Not about Science whatsoever, that Seniors are getting bathroom upgrades if they live in these zip codes! Also this Same thing has been posted Multiple times in other Categories! Again, this post typically has Zero to do with the Category that it was posted in! I mean Zero Relevance or, more accurately, actually Less than Zero.

So, in the past, I was able to get rid of a post, but now, if I try, it blocks whatever category that the Ad was posted in! What?

Is this now the price of having Firefox? That I have to have postings that I can not either block or delete? Really?

Please explain and tell me why I can not target an individual ad from being posted. Thanks for your time. John D

When I click for a new tab, all the shortcuts I have are moved down awkwardly. Can you fix that? That does not seem to be a good choice. Please change. The attached image shows that everything has moved down and I cannot see the names of the shortcuts. Why did you do this? Please fix that. There was absolutely no reason to do that!

Why isn't there a simple means to remove/prevent searches for the address bar, using config doesn't work.

I've used Firefox for over twenty years, this annoyance will end that and force a move to Brave.
