Having just used Windows Update (on Windows 10), the screensaver lock screen comes on with my chosen picture AND four large buttons for weather etc. I didn't ask for the buttons, and don't want them. Is this a Firefox issue, or maybe a Windows issue? Do you know how I can stop them coming on please? (Firefox v. 132.0.2 current)

I got tired of the shenanigans with the latest "upgrades" to firefox (132 & 133) so I rolled back to the last working version (131.02). In doing so, it required me to create a new profile, which I did. Doing so WIPED OUT ALL OF MY BOOKMARKS, SETTINGS, ADD-ONS, OPTIONS, HISTORY, EVERYTHING!!! I now have a blank version of firefox.

How in the world can I get them back???

I have a IP intercom that only works with Firefox 127.0.2 Now Firefox automatically upgrades to the latest version and I'm unable to prevent this. I'm unable to manage my intercom with the latest version. How do I turn off automatic updates.

I seem to be having a really odd issue where each time I restart Firefox, recent addons I've installed will not function or appear in the Add-On drop down menu (despite being meant to appear in such), despite being enabled and still being shown as such when I check settings. They only become visible and functional when I disable and re-enable them.

I've just discovered the same thing seems to happen in reverse too. I recently disabled ClearURLs due to a bug it was causing in Google Drive, yet it appeared in my Add-On drop down menu after restarting. Checking settings showed it to still be 'disabled'.

Things I've tried:

• Restarting both Firefox and PC.
• Uninstalling and reinstalling the effected Add-ons
• Deleting my extension*, compatability.ini and prefs.js files - erasing all my add-on settings yet still not helping. This is the main thing I've suggested on forums like this with similar questions, but has not helped.

It seems to only be effecting the most recent set of add-ons I installed over the last week, as if Firefox keeps trying to work with the Add-on settings I had at a previous date. I've seemingly had some cases where the extensions disable or are uninstalled entirely but I'm not sure this is related, as I think it only happened once.

I suspect it's not to do with the new extensions themselves, given it's effecting all the most recent ones, but I'll list the ones I've seen it effecting here regardless:

As you can see I recently installed quite a few anti-tracker type extensions which probably overlap in function, mainly just to test them out, so it could be connected to them I guess... but seems unlikely.

Hello all,

During clean-up of my laptop I noticed 31 language package files in C:\ProgramData\O949. File names look like: langpack-en-US@firefox.mozilla.org, and they all originate from 23-Jan-2017 so I guess they're very old files which might be relevant anymore. As these 10,058 files occupy 56 MB I'd like to remove them from my laptop.

Does anybody know if such task is wise, not harming current running FF v131.0.3?

Ever since I updated to Firefox 132, I get a Tab Crash if I go to Facebook (logged in), DSLReports Forums (like https://www.dslreports.com/forum/vzfiber), and Rockstar Social Club (logged in).

I have tried playing with the settings, Troubleshooter Mode, and Private Windows...all the same result.

Your article about the expiration of Windows 10 says that anyone that has FireFox on the Release Channel doesn't have to worry, that updates will continue to support Windows 10. I don't know what that means (Release Channel). And how can I check if that's what I have?

I am sure that this is a 'known issue' but, when I attempted to update the browser just now, it failed and directed me to install it manually.

Is there a time estimate when this glitch will be fixed?

I don't understand the problem. My accessing Firefox has become limited. I received a note to Upgrad to windows 11... I hae already upgraded. What must I do too have it recognised?

Running Firefox on macOS Sequoia 15.0. Afternoon of Tuesday, 8 October, Firefox abruptly ceased loading any pages. I eventually learned of the malware incident and downloaded Firefox 131.0.2 last night and overwrote the existing file. It worked for a brief moment, then also ceased functioning. Have downloaded 131.0.2 several times now, with no further success. Currently dead in the water with Firefox, and stuck with Safari. :(

Latest update, 4. oct. Using Firefox Developer Edition. Closed the browser window for the day, and then on opening again it had updated, my entire toolbar, and also icons where the tabs are, are just gone - including the "+" icon for creating a new tab, along with the bookmarks bar having vanished. Picture added below.

It seems like the bookmarks bar is still there, you just can visibly see any bookmarks. Tried adding a new bookmark, but nothing appeared.

How can I fix this?

I am not sure what to do first. I already paid for the VPN subscription. I reinstalled Mozzilla VPN but have not yet put the sudo lines in that are listed in the help on Firefox. Can you send me an email with instructions and any special sudo lines I need to intall so I do not get charged a second time. I heve the recovery code. I am new to Mint. Windows 11 started knocking out my hardware with power surges. Had to come from the operating system itself since the machine is hooked to a power backup that smoothes the current out. I'm using Firefox Developer Edition 132.0b3 (64 bit) which I downloaded just a few days ago. Already, there's an update for it, to version 132.0b4. Each time I open Firefox, there's this popup that tells me that there's an update available and that I need to download it. I'm using Linux Mint 21. I've already visited about:config and changed app.update.silent to true, changed app.update.manual to true, and changed app.update.url.details and app.update.url.manual to fake hyperlinks. Despite doing this and despite restarting, I'm still prompted about the update available every single time I open Firefox. Could someone kindly tell the specific developer who implemented this annoying feature, to please provide an option for Users to not be bothered with such popup notifications?

ps: Why does this website have a white background and not allow extensions to change it to a dark background? I have Dark Reader extension installed, but it says that it cannot make changes to this website. Even uBlockOrigin is unable to. Please either allow extensions to change the background, or at least change the background color of this website to dark. It gets strenuous on the eyes to keep staring at a bright white backgrond.

Hello, I have an issue with installing other extensions. Every time I have been trying lately it keeps prompting me to check my internet connection. I have checked it, it is fine, going strong, supporting constant gaming with no lags or spikes, I have no VPN active when trying to install. Are extensions no longer supported by newest mozilla version or something? It is the only browser with this issue and I will switch the main browser if I cannot get extensions to make life easier.
