Hello,

I'm trying to sort bookmark folders by date. I followed some threads on-line, but its not saving. Am I missing something?

I'm going to Manage Bookmarks (see screenshot) i'm able to select a folder and click Views and it defaulted to 'unsorted' I select Sort by Added and the latest bookmarks in this area sort by latest on the TOP first. Perfect!

I exit out check bookmarks and they are still sorted in the reverse... meaning latest bookmark is still at the bottom and my very first bookmark in this folder is at the top.

Maybe its not designed this way? if so I don't see the reason to go under Managed Bookmarks and sort by anything if its not going to save that way.

Moral of the story trying to sort by date added in any folder not name (which is only thing I see when right clicking on any folder). I want latest saved bookmarks sorted from TOP down not latest's starting at the bottom.

Thanks

When I go to https://squareup.com/login the entry fields do not appear in Firefox. It's impossible for me to access my Square account through Firefox currently, which I use for client invoicing. I have no trouble logging in through Chrome. Screenshot attached.

I have Privacy Badger and AdBlock installed for both browsers. I tried disabling them for Firefox just to see if that was the issue, but it made no difference. I am using an iMac running macOS Catalina version 10.15.7. My Firefox Browser is version 97.0.1, and currently shows that it's up to date. My Chrome browser is version 98.0.4758.109, also up to date.

My dad is almost 89 years old. He is NOT TECH SAVVY. I have him using a trackball mouse. His hands are HUGE and his fingers are numb.

Somehow, he is inadvertently adding bookmarks to the bookmark bar. I do not know how he is doing this but he'll call and ask me to "put Gmail back on the bar". When I go over, there are a gazillion new bookmarks which pushes his Gmail bookmark beyond the >> spot. I have to delete these umpteen extra bookmarks so that the Gmail bookmark is visible again. Yesterday, I decided to move Gmail to the far left, hoping these accidental bookmarks he creates won't push it off the bar. The bookmarks he "creates" are specific gmail conversations, or facebook pages, or Publisher's Clearing House pages (he LOVES PCH games and plays them constantly).

HOW IS HE DOING THIS? He doesn't know enough to click the star button. He doesn't know about using the Ctrl and D keys to create a new bookmark. It's driving me BATTY. I'm sure he's somehow doing this using his mouse (clicking both right/left simultaneously but not aware of doing so).

Thanks in advance for helping a daughter keep her sanity ...

Firefox is not playing any videos on my device. Will typically 'spin' as if loading.

Every site repeats the same stupid troubleshooting steps. I have already: Cleared cookies and cache, Disabled all themes and extensions, Tried in troubleshooting mode, Disabled hardware acceleration, 'refreshed' Firefox, Did a complete uninstall, including deleting %APPDATA%\Mozilla\ and reinstalled.

Videos play just fine in other browsers, like Google Chrome

A site that I use several times every year recently wouldn't open. Response from Firefox is "Access Denied - Certificate issuer not recognized". Also kept getting bumped out of my email account and all my open tabs would close abruptly. The last may have been rectified but I still can't get into the website I want to access.

I've tried different browsers as well so I don't know if it's Mozilla only or my PC. Even if I type in https://www.(pagename).com, it displays as you don't have permission to access http://www.(pagename).com.

I changed nothing on my PC that would cause the problem.

It is sad, I think, that Mozilla/Firefox is willing to close/archive a thread that is not really solved or has reared its ugly head again in versions since the release of 93 (we are now at 97.0.2). I came to this site and registered because I am still having this issue as of 3/6/2022...arg!

I have tried the 3 recommended solutions, with no affect:

I have, as one article suggested, cleared my cache and cookies, started and restarted Firefox; the only thing I have not tried is removing it from my computer and using Chrome (I'm told it is a better browser anyway) as some responders have eluded to.

I hope that responders like "jscher2000, Kymber" will continue the champion this issue until Mozilla gets it "Really" fixed.

Thanks for listening, Wayne

BTW, heres what my dropdowns look like today 3/6/2022 6:17 PM Arizona time.

Running Linux Mint Mate 19.2 on two computers. Starting about 2 weeks ago, when trying to sign into providencejournal.com (with a paid subscription) using Firefox 97.0.1, just one of the computers displays an error message, see attached. We have used that site for years without issues, and the other computer still signs in correctly. On the problem computer I have just installed the Opera browser, for test purposes, and with Opera the sign-in succeeds. In F/F, I have tried disabling extensions, allowing all trackers and cookies, and reinstalling Javascript, all to no avail. preference is to use F/F, can anyone offer a solution?

Hi there,

I cleared my cache after it told me it had stored a gazillion GB in data - but the big number was still there after clearing the cache. Needless to say my harddrive isn't even as big as the GB number shown, so there must be a gremlin in there somewhere? Thought you'd want to know. I'm using the latest Firefox on Mac OS 10.15.7

When Firefox is restarted after updates, or when starting from powered down, or when hitting the home button on the tool bar, I still get multiple tabs opened - none of which are relevant or links which I desire. Seems I've tried everything I can to get this to stop. How do i adjust things so that I just open Firefox without a whole bunch of ancient links that I have to manually close every time? Thank You. Firefox 97 and previous version CREATES noise in whatever audio is running. Whether it is audio from Audacious, my music player, or audio from the program I am watching on Firefox. How can I stop the noise, which sounds like static from a week station on an old AM radio? Using other browser does not have this audio problem, UNLESS Firefox is running. Even if not actively using Firefox, just having it open on the desktop causes noise. Using Linux Mint 20 64bit. Audio produced by motherboard ASUS Prime B550 Plus with AMD Ryzen 9 3900X processor. Clicking on Firefox Help gets a message saying "Updates disabled by your system administrator" along with the normal text. I didn't disable updates and I am the Admin.

When joining a Zoom meeting hosted on the browser rather than installed Zoom app, my speakers are not working and the troubleshooting error messages says the browser is blocking zoom from accessing the speakers. I can't find a setting in Firefox preferences to block/allow it. Speakers work on YouTube/Vimeo with no problems (speaker volume 100% and not muted). Speakers had been working with Zoom until a couple weeks ago. I don't want to install the Zoom app just because Google hates privacy and and I don't want to help them own my privacy anymore than I must. I use DuckDuckGo for the default search engine, have Ghostery for an Extension/add-on, and have the Firefox browser set for private window always. I have tried various cookie settings for the Zoom meetings and even the dreaded "accept all cookies" and have Firefox cookie handling set to Standard, with deleting all cookies and history upon exit. I am on 64-bit Windows 10 up to date as of 2/16/22, Dell computer updated to same date, and latest update of Firefox 2/18/22. I have done a number of web searches and not finding the speaker topic or error message other than three unanswered help requests from others with the same problem dated from July-Sept 2021.
