I have a HP Pavilion desktop pc with at660a mother board and have just downloaded the latest Mozilla fire fox and now I cannot open PDF files when I am still on the web I can open then but as soon as I load into downloads on my hard drive all I get is a blank page except for borders etc but no script, incidentally this pc has never used Mozilla firefox. But when I use internet explorer it is all ok, I have Mozilla on all my other PCs and I don't have any problems but they are loaded with an earlier version when I manually try to open with Adobe reader it tells me that the file is corrupt hope you can help thank you.

Hello All, My passwords are no longer "auto-filling" the log-in fields as they used to. Could this be a result of my Options/Privacy/Clear History When Firefox Closes setting?? In addition, in the Options/Privacy/Settings/settings for clearing history options I have Browsing History, Download History, Cache and Cookies all checked. Somehow I'm missing something... Many thanks in advance....

Using FF 9.0.1. This feature has been around for a while, but never thought to ask this question. The feature is - you can click on a tab, and then drag it, and it separates and becomes it's own window. Sometimes, I want to take a window and re-attach it to the other FF window I have open. Then that window becomes a tab. Or sometimes I have grabbed the tab and moved it from the window by mistake and want to put it back. How can I do that? I use both Windows XP Pro and Win7. Chris

When i watch video in flash and plug out my headphones i can't get any sound from content within FF without restarting the program. And when i close it the process still runs. But when i shut down the process in task manager and restart it i can hear the sound again. This is extremely annoying! It's wierd that all the other programs on my computer can play on different sources, but if i lean back and my headphones fall out, Firefox cant play any sound until restarted against it's will...

I'm running Firefox v9.0.1 under Win7 Home Premium 64 bit, with a dual core Intel T4400 (Core 2) CPU running at 2.2GHz, with 3GB of RAM.
This is a new (mis)behavior for FireFox. Problem appears as periodic, temporary freezing of the FireFox UI. During these times (lasting up to 30 seconds), FireFox will not display new content, will not respond to mouseclicks, will not render typed text. These freezes can affect performance systemwide, degrading the performance of other applications, even with Firefox minimized. Originally, I thought it was due to the MS Outlook webmail application...but it isn't. The same problem occurs in Firefox sessions that have never loaded an Outlook webmail page.
I composited some screenshots of CPU usage and posted the result here. I'd post a PDF if I knew a site that would permit (more or less) anonymous posters to upload one.
That page is composed from images taken from Mark Russinovich's Process Explorer utility to show system resource usage. There is no I/O usage that corresponds to the CPU use. Firefox is definitely the offending application. Every 60 seconds, Firefox usage spikes in one CPU core, to over 90%. Sometimes Firefox usage manages to spill into the second core as well (I don't know how it manages to do that).
ProcesExplorer's per-thread info (bottom of the image) demonstrates that this excessive CPU usage isn't happening in a plugin. It's coming form Firefox, proper.
As you can see in the ProcessExplorer treeview, I'm running the PortableApps installation of FireFox. But I don't think that affects the excessive CPU usage. After all, it never used to do this. And now, after the upgrade to v9.0.1, it does. Also, a standard install of Firefox on this same computer (v8.0.1) does NOT exhibit the excessive-CPU use behavior.
I'd appreciate any help you can offer to get Firefox's CPU usage to calm back down again. I several users who have gone over to Chrome because of this bug.

I am having problems hiding the Navigation Toolbar in userChrome.css.
I am trying to achieve the same as the menu clicks View -> Toolbars -> [uncheck] Navigation Toolbar.
If I add #navigator-toolbox { display: none }
to userChrome.css then everything disappears, including the tabs and menu. If I use the following then there remains a blank bar, about half the size of the tab bar.
#searchbar, #urlbar, .toolbarbutton-1, .toolbarbutton-menubutton-button { display: none }

Hello, I use an encrypted password manager to store and create unique, complicated passwords. Since these passwords are not trivial, I use the copy/paste function of the manager to paste them into password fields at various websites. The passwords are cleared from clipboard memory automatically after a few seconds. I've encountered one website that won't allow me to paste into its password field and would like to overcome this problem. I'm not sure, but I suspect that there is some code in Firefox that respects this "no pasting allowed" request from the website and I would like to change that if possible. Thanks.

I'm running FF9 beta in Windows XP -- the ZoneAlarm security toolbar (which I never wanted but was somehow installed anyway) shows up in the extension list as disabled due to incompatibility with Firefox version 9. I'd prefer to just remove the toolbar/addon entirely, but there's no "Remove" option. How do I get rid of it?
Thanks.
