I"ve customized my navigation toolbar, using the right click - Customize option, to hold the icons I want. Firefox randomly keeps dropping the icons back into the customize window and I have to subsequently rebuild the toolbar.

Usually it happens in response to a crash (of FF, not the OS), sometimes not. Other times it happens when I mistakenly click my desktop icon a second time to open Firefox, when it's already loading in the background. Other times it happens when I reopen FF after Vista comes out of hibernation , other times not. If FF stalls during close but then closes on its own, as when my CPU is running high, seems to be anothert time it's more likely to happen.

The only common denominator is a difficult open or close.

I'm prety tired of doing this, especially since the icons are essential to my work. The nav bar reverts to the back/forward arrows, reload, stop and home buttons and the address and search bar.

In response to searching the forums I tried deleting the localstore.rdf file so it could regenerate. That hasn't helped. I think when this first started I migrated my profile. I can't remember if it helped temporarily, but obviously I now have the problem again.

If there is no solution for this beyond rebuilding my profile again or turning off the extensiosn and hoping this somewhat random problem occurs again, is anyone aware of an add on that can "lock" my navigation bar, or take a picture so I can restore it with one click. I have FEBE but it doesn't cover personalizations like this.

-Good day all,

---My service provider has recently implemented this DNS Redirect to http://dnssearch.rr.com/ . Where I use to type sites I have visted into the address bar (E.G., "eBay" or "hotmail") and it would automatically take me to the said site, the redirect pushed me to a search page, like malware would. Now, after weeks of fighting with cookies and such to OPT OUT of http://dnssearch.rr.com and numerous complaints to my provider, including eMails mentioning how I have opted out umpteen times (it wasn't my cookies, cachet, etc.,), and them forcing the site on me required me adding it to my HOST file and that altering settings on my PC is hacking and tresspassing on private property (I drilled them about all I could think of... after weeks of fighting this new "game" they started) and most important, hijacking, the site is gone and there are no more browser redirects. However,

---The function no longer works when I type a recent site into my address bar. I go straight to www.google.com, which I set as my default search page. How do I get it back?

---It's not plugins or add-ons, these do not apply.

---I have completely uninstalled Firefox (using Revo) and reinstalled and the problem is still there.

browser.fixup.alternate.enabled = false keyword.enabled = true

_edit_:

---Forgot, my Wife's laptop is experiencing the redirect problem. I haven't bothered with it because if it was something I accidentally did to my PC that changed a setting, I wouldn't want to reenact the crime on hers. She enjoys the keyword function as well as I, and it would be instant death if something I did ended her enjoyment.

Firefox 3.6.12 Mac OS X 10.5.8

In the 'Compose mail' window of GMail the shortcut Command-left arrow or Command-right arrow to jump to respectively beginning or end of a line, is not working. Command-up/down (go to top/bottom) and option-left/right (jump per word) are all working fine. I already tried running Firefox in Safe mode but still the same issue. Also tried clearing the cache and all history but to no avail. In Safari the shortcut works fine but I'd like to stick to Firefox.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I have both the latest version of Firefox, which is OK, and an older version that has issues with Yahoo Mail.

Firefox 3.6.12 used to work with Yahoo Mail but not anymore so it has to be Yahoo that is doing something wrong and I will NOT upgrade anything on this old laptop!!!

Yahoo Mail just does not work right. I try a NEW mail and there is no message body. Viewing mail only shows the header. IE 6 still works but THEY (Yahoo) says I need to upgrade - NOT!!!

I have a newer netbook with VISTA (ARGHHHH!!!) and Firefox 7.0.1 and everything works except for some glitches in add-ons.

I am seriously sick of UPGRADES that don't work right!!! My netbook has had three versions of Firefox and other upgrades to get VISTA and things working somewhat right. And my laptop... too old for the NEW upgrades; WinXP worked and VISTA or Win7 are CRAP!!! And now that Apple has ripped out the Motorola heart and put in Intel and Windows compatibility... ARGHHHH!!!

When displaying a Google map I get about four vertical strips that alternately display good and in gray bands. The gray area displays the message "we are sorry, but we don't have maps at this zoom level for this region." Zooming out doesn't get rid of the gray areas.

I've had this problem for over a year and get around it by using either MS Internet Explorer or Google Chrome which work Ok. Otherwise Firefox works fine and I use it for everything else except Google Maps.

I've tried an uninstall of FireFox and then reinstall but it didn't help. I don't remember what I was doing when this problem first showed up.
