My Firefox is set to show my home pages when it starts, but it opens my windows and tabs from last time, except its not really last time, but some time in the past. After trying to open those pages, I get a full screen Skype window that I can't get out of full screen. So, I go to my task bar. Launch another session of Firefox, back to the task bar to close the Skype window, and then click on the Home page button to launch my pages. This has been going on for a couple weeks now.

Although typed URL includes https, there is no lock visible. I started having difficulties on the 15th logging into mail.yahoo.com with Firefox (updated to 23 on the 10th, and, as of today 23.01) on a Win7 home premium SP1 x64 desktop.

I was getting alerts from Avast that the site had been marked as a phishing site. I had no problems accessing yahoo.com with FF, nor mail.yahoo.com if I were using Opera or Pale Moon. It was only today that I noticed that although I was typing 'https' (and the box was showing https), I was *not* seeing a padlock. I have rebooted my modem, flushed my dns cache, cleaned cookies/cache within FF. My hosts file shows a last modify date of 6/10/2009 17:00. It is 824 bytes and is the vanilla MS file (all commented text).

In both instances the URL showing in the address box is the same: https://login.yahoo.com/?.src=ym&.intl=us&.lang=en-US&.done=http://mail.yahoo.com.

It is just with PM or Opera the padlock appears, but with Firefox it doesn't. If I click to the left of the address in FF, I get "This website does not supply identity information. Your connection to this site is only partially encrypted and does not prevent eavesdropping." In PM or Opera I get "You are connected to yahoo.com which is run by (unknown) Verified by:DigiCert Inc Your connection to this website is encrypted to prevent eavesdropping."

I can provide screenshots.

I have already tried resetting Firefox and I my history showed today, yesterday, and past seven days temporarily. However, it reverted back to showing only today's and yesterdays history. I have "remember history" for my settings and just to be safe I have unchecked delete everything when Firefox closes. I have add ons to the check sq.lite so that is not the problem. I'd really like to know what's causing this so I don't have reset Firefox again unless its necessary. Thanks in advance and I appreciate the help.

I used the Sync feature on my previous (stolen) laptop. And I had a lot of important links and bookmarks on it. I am hoping with Sync on the new laptop I have bought I'll be able to restore it all. Is there any way this can be done ?

Since I don't have the main (original) Sync'd laptop with me how do I add this new laptop to my Mozzila Sync account ? It is possible that the thief formatted the hard-disc. In that case I might anyway lose the Sync data if it got updated after formatting... In any case, I must try and add this new laptop to my a/c.

Running a version of Linux, the default application for PDF files is "Use Document Viewer (default)", which appears to be /usr/bin/evince. I'd much prefer to use /usr/bin/okular; how can I change the default. This question is NOT about how to change the function that is automatically applied when I access a link, in this case "Preview in Firefox", but rather to the default application that I can select when I download a file being viewed in Firefox's previewer.

I just had to reset FF to default, and it forgot my sync information. No problem, I'll just re-enter it.

Of course I went to Tools->Options->Sync. Then things got weird.

So I tried "Set up Firefox Sync" and it opened another window. Fine, but then the button "I have an account" doesn't do anything. Click click click click click, nothing happens, it's without functionality.

Then, in Pair a Device, which is how I'd normally do it, the link at the bottom of the window "I don't have the device with me" (which is poorly worded in my opinion) is just plain missing. It's not there. Gone. If you'd like, I can make you a screen shot.

So, I don't know what to do now. I just want to sync.

On average, every 30 minutes or so when I open a new tab or refresh a current tab, the page is completely distorted, links or text missing, and other various caching issues. WHy does this happen so often? It is very annoying that I have to manually clear my cache every 30 minutes.... if I get up to eat dinner or watch a show or any other number of things... when I return my browser does not cache pages properly and I have to manually clear it every time.

This happened to me in the past and eventually went away... but after I upgraded the browser, it began doing this again. I am having to resort to using Internet Explorer against my wishes just so that I am not annoyed by this. How can this be fixed for good?

So even when I load up websites (like ones we here at my job have created) with very simple HTML and absolutely nothing Flash related, I still get a pop-up asking me to install flash (pops down from the URL bar at left.) How can I stop this without disabling all plug-in updates?

Moreover, why in the name of all that's good is it asking me about Flash when I have no pages open with anything remotely Flash like on them?

Thanks to anyone who can answer.
