After the update to firefox 11 the browser stopped to prompt saving passwords. When i go to website where i want the password to be saved i can see on the top left corner that a key sign appears, but no window is poping up to ask me if i want to save the username and password. I have checked following:

  • Checked the privacy settings. The private automatic private session is unchecked so it is disabled.
  • Remember passwords for sites is enabled.
  • Firefox has been restarted with addons disabled.
  • All bookmarks have been deleted.
  • Firefox has been reinstalled and all the temp files were deleted.

After upgrading from Firefox 11 to 12 I'm having serious problems with Firefox over-caching pages.

For example if you: Go to a URL where you can enter comments. If after comments are entered you are sent back to the same URL Firefox is showing the old page (without your new comments). You have to do a refresh to see the new page (with the new comment)

Even if the page has PHP headers: header('Cache-Control: no-cache, no-store, must-revalidate'); header('Pragma: no-cache'); header('Expires: 0');

Firefox ignores this too.

I have contacted Twitter support about this, and so far they are stumped. Firefox is my preferred browser. I tried clearing my cache and clearing my cookies, but the login still does not work. I also experimented with http:// versus https:// for logging in, but it still does not log me in. Here is a screen capture of the issue:

When I open a PDF using Firefox, some letters in words that are printed across the document are missing. I believe the creator of the document used a text box to add "Draft" on it. The D is missing. Other words I have found are "Copy Non-negotiable" and the C is missing. These same PDFs open fine in IE and Chrome. Have experienced it on V22-V25. Using Windows7

The scary warning that appears when I click "Add to Firefox" for a certain add-on discourages me from actually installing it. "Install add-ons only from authors whom you trust. Malicious software can damage your computer or violate your privacy . . . (author not verified)" In particular, I'm interested in the Password Exporter add-on. I want to be especially cautious as this will access all my passwords stored in Firefox. How do I actually know if an add-on is safe or not?

Several weeks ago, the C: drive on my PC was replaced and Firefox was recreated before I could copy over my old profile to the new drive. I now want to recover the old browsing history, but of course the new profile already has its own, more recent, places.sqlite file that I do not want to lose.

How can I merge the two histories?

This thread carries on from a discussion about How do I disable the plugin check at Firefox startup? As clearly Tylerdowner did not like my previous message and so would like me to obviously start a whole new thread to find out what’s going on. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/938821

Tyler: I am still looking for support and so are the other 83 people who have this problem. Hence why I am here, not to have to start another thread, not to have a go at you or just to run around further to get a clear, straight forward answer. I am now back to running Version 12 (which, has not solved the problem), with up-to-date plugins which are all supported.

Don’t fob us off, PLEASE HELP. Unless I am very much mistaken, this is the place we are meant to find help, right? Not to be completely blown off because somebody says something you don’t like. Perhaps someone better suited to this will help. I’ll follow on from then with MY problem from Tyler’s final comment as it is highly relevant:

Tylerdowner: Rumor Control, if you are running Firefox 18 with up to date plugins, then you are having a different problem than this thread is about. This is for Firefox 3.6 users who have old plugins, not those with updated software.
