Hello, I hope this is the right place to post this question. I apologize if it's not. Please tell me if I am posting in a wrong section.

Firefox is not displaying right fonts on a site I am working on. • I am working with files locally on my Mac so I can't provide url. • I am using @font-face rule and index page displays the right fonts that are in my folders. I am not using link to Google. • Problem is that all the other pages display only default browser fonts. But all the other CSS styling, on those pages, works just fine. • My index page is in the root folder, fonts have their own folder, and all the other pages have their own folder.

   - root folder
                       |- index.html
                       |- styles folder - css folder, etc…
                       |- media folder - fonts folder, etc…
                       |- pages folder - about.html, page2.html, etc…

• I have added fonts in ttf, woff, woff2, eot, and svg formats. Technically, I only care about at least making ttf files work. • I am using the latest Firefox. • I cleared all of the history. • And I tried Firefox in safe mode, so far nothing works.

Does anyone have any idea what am I doing wrong? I very much appreciate your help.

As the title says I have a problem whith my pinned tabs. Let's take facebook as an example. When I get a message from someone, the blue dot which indicates a notification appears under the favicon. The problem is that it doesn't go away even after I check everythig that could generate the notification. I don't think it is caused by specific websites since I have different tabs that i leave always pinned, and this behaviour showed up in all of them after the update to version ~47 (I can't remember the specific one).

How to prevent Firefox from removing my extension's data when I remove debug version?

     "strict_min_version": "42.0"
   }
 },

```
which uses indexedDB(PouchDB). I installed that extension from addons.mozilla.org, disabled, installed temporarily version for developing and Firefox removes data of both extensions(cuz they have the same id) every time I remove only temporarily version.
This does not happen when I don't set id in manifest(temporarily version has random id in this case), but it's not a solution cuz some API's and Android version of Firefox requires id to be set manually
How to prevent Firefox from removing data of normal extension when I remove temporarily one?
Just in case someone wants to reproduce the issue:
1. Install this extension https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tagit/?src=search
2. Go to extension's page (button with eyes on browser's panel)
3. Go to "Tags" page and create any tag(write something and press Enter)
4. Disable this extension on about:addons page
5. Clone its repository and checkout to commit where id is in manifest `git clone https://github.com/DevAlone/tagit.git; git checkout 8e0d04201865fd7b7543b167279a045c89408d5c`
6. Install dependencies and build `npm install; npm run build`
7. Install that temporarily extension(`build` dir) on about:debugging page
8. Remove that temporarily extension on about:debugging page
9. Enable normal extension on about:addons page
10. Go to the Tags page again to see that database is gone
Has anyone experienced anything like this? Firefox on macOS is fine.
Hi there,
I work for a small UK based charity and we use our website to take orders for our programmes, we deliver DARE programmes in the UK.
Our website is https://lifeskills-education.co.uk.
We use WordPress as our CMS and use Formidable Forms to create forms for people to place orders; these forms work fine in Chrome and Edge, but will not display in Firefox. I have tried everything, disabling third party scripts, all plugins, themes and more, but Firefox refuses to show them. It sees the HTML, but when inspected the HTML is greyed out. It is not greyed out on Chrome.
https://lifeskills-education.co.uk/resources/the-dare-primary-programme/ is the page where an order form should show on the left above the fold. It is titled Place an Order.
There is nothing I can find anywhere that can help me with this issue, Google has come up blank and I am not a web developer so don't have the tech chops to track this down.
Any help appreciated. Thanks.
This isn't as much as a question as this is an idea to consider.
What I'm about to bring up are several ideas that could make the Firefox Marketplace awesome, a real alternative to the Chrome Web Store, because frankly enough (don't get me wrong, I love Firefox and its marketplace), a lot of the apps are Firefox OS only and even those aren't too great. Here are some ideas to make it up-to-par with its competitors:
Firefox OS Background Emulation Push for PC Developers Third-Party Hosted Web App Links
FIREFOX OS BACKGROUND EMULATION:
A lot of apps are mainly, well, links to web apps that could definitely run on a PC. A lot of the other apps can be run in an emulator (which should be built-in, but in the background) that opens whenever one of these Firefox OS-specific apps is opened. The emulator could run in the background, and these apps would run in a window without any of the complexity or fake hardware buttons that the current emulators have. If this feature was standard, that would be great.
Now the Firefox Marketplace could seriously compete with the Chrome OS Web Store if it's app selection was bigger, and a great place to start is the already existing Firefox OS apps.
PUSH FOR PC DEVELOPERS:
Mobile Firefox OS apps are really being pushed. That isn't a bad thing (at all!!!) but if there was an equal amount of push for PC apps, we could see a bigger app store.
I mean, these are web apps! There is very little reason that you can develop an app for mobile and NOT tick the little box that puts the app on PCs. Easy fix. And besides, with the emulation feature there is literally no reason to NOT export to PC unless you have a grudge or something.
THIRD-PARTY HOSTED WEB APP LINKS
This one will be trickier to start off, but eventually it could be really good.
A lot of major companies have powerful online apps, but do not want to make an app for the Firefox Marketplace. Why? "Because there are not enough apps". This is circular reasoning. They don't want to make an app because other people don't want to make an app because other people..... it doesn't go anywhere.
So, if uploading nothing but a .manifest file that featured a link to an app accompanied by some basic information by a third-party developer is legally acceptable, I think it should be approved. Actually, the act of uploading nothing but a link to a site. Not like a hosted app, because that requires a specific .manifest file in the actual webpage code, and isn't featured in the actual Firefox Marketplace.
Thanks for reading so far, and I hope I've made a difference for Firefox and it's marketplace ;D !!!
On my web page ( http://PSPLFriends.org/Photos_2016.htm ), I have a link to a popup, which is "imported" from a .js file (Photos_popup.js) Click the "Click here" line beneath the row of years in the "Photos from..." box to see the pop-up (I had to disable the Firefox pop-up blocker (Tools) option to display it).
For some reason, Firefox prepends the word 'write' at the top of the popup (see image).
No other functionality is affected, and it displays just fine, otherwise.
Neither Explorer nor Edge do this. I have no other browsers to test it with. My target audience prefers Firefox, but the site was originally designed for Explorer. I did my best to accommodate both, but, obviously, something is different between the two. I never noticed this issue during my tests, although I haven't checked it in years. The code is about 10 years old, and rarely changes. My recent changes were attempted "fixes" for this issue, but which changed absolutely nothing.
Style issues aside (no snarky comments about my stone age code, thank you very much!), ;) can anyone see a reason for this happening and recommend a simple fix?
I am testing my own site. Where I need to log in with different User Accounts in order to check that aspect of IIS.
Firefox only allows me to log in with one account - visiting that site again just automatically logs in with that same account. It doesn't present me with the log in fields. And, of course, a browser doesn't have a 'log out' button does it?
I want to be presented with the log in fields each time I go there, so's I can log in as a different user.
So I found a thread here that was similar, talking about someone with the opposite problem - constantly being logged out. And the answer was in about:preferences and such. Well I couldn't follow that trail because about:preferences didn't bring up the options that thread talked about.
I suppose the answer is a cookies thing. I'd like to resolve this without having to delete all cookies. If I can.
edit: removed spaces before each paragraph which caused horizontal scroll-bars.
Using firefox developer edition, aurora update channel, 60.0b2 (64-bit), macOS 10.13.3. The functionality of the bookmarks sidebar has changed recently: command-clicking folders in the side bar used to be a shortcut to "open all in tabs" for that folder. Now command-clicking selects that folder for multiple selection. Additionally the new behaviour is inconsistent with command-clicking a leaf node, which opens that specific bookmark in a new tab.
The old behaviour was incredibly useful for having categories of folders to open while still being able to select specific bookmarks. I think the new behaviour would be much better for this use case if you could multiple select a combination of folders and bookmarks, and additionally if after multiple selection there was an option for "open all in tabs". Currently having multiple folders selected does not have this option. Was the change intended? Is the only alternative (outside of enabling bookmarks toolbar) individually clicking bookmarks?
Hi all; apologies for the long post.
All of the major browsers recently dumped applets or intend to, including Firefox. I have spent the last five years developing a ranking engine web site and software based around a 64,839 line Applet that needs to pass customised ranking criteria back to the server once the user has finished modifying the preset criteria to their needs (the ranking criteria is stored as graphs).
Web Start is simply not going to do the job and its too big a project to start from scratch and rebuild it in something else. The whole project, including test data SQL code is over 234,000 lines of code and was due to be launched in March next year. Seriously, they could not have picked a worse time to dump Applets.
The following is a bit of an overview of the engine. Please; to any Mozilla staff reading this, this engine is well worth supporting...
Even if just one browser supported Applets, I could convince people to switch browsers. This technology will change the web and computing like no other, and will attract a lot of users, so I would please ask that Mozilla consider reinstating the option of running Applets. The web site is only a product ranking engine for retail products at present, but will expand into other areas at a latter date. It can capture a knowledgeable expert's ranking knowledge, for virtually any retail product, and then make it available for anyone to use at the click of a button.
The engine is based on an abstract theory for how the human brain uses neural networks to rank things for us. The engine is capable of ranking pretty much anything the human brain can rank. Like the human brain, it is capable of ranking entities that have absolutely no attributes in common within the ranking criteria (I'm not really sure what that can be used for yet). It can also use any attribute, that the brain uses to rank things, for which we have no formal system of measurements. This is possible through the use of graphs to capture, edit and store the ranking criteria. Essentially, if an entity type has describable attributes, then it can be ranked by this engine.
If the user is always willing to accept the highest ranked entity, then it can be used to capture a large number of decision processes which use ranking of a set of options, and which do not make use of the imagination. It can then accurately emulate that decision process. This technology will allow Robotics, AI and Software Agents to make a large number of decisions the way that we do.
This theory is part of a wider theory for how the human brain generates most all emotions and feelings, including those for interactions and the Ego, using neural networks. This theory was developed over a period of 17 years. The ranking engine was merely a byproduct of this work.
This is no pie in the sky theory, the engine has been fully functional for over two years, and is currently ranking 1225 digital cameras using 89 attributes. It is only the background administration of the web site that needs finishing. I also have an Australian Provisional Patent "METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR RANKING ENTITIES - AU2016900828" (http://www.ipaustralia.com.au/applicant/wegner-ronald-robert/patents/AU2016900828/). My patent attorney firm, Spruson & Ferguson based in Sydney Australia, would never allow a hoax to tarnish their reputation.
If anyone at Mozilla is reading this, please consider keeping the option of Applets!
Kind Regards, Robbie Wegner
I hope this is the right forum to ask this question. I have a plugin that I have created. (XPI file). I am looking to push to a few client machines and install the plugin silently. I have administrative rights on the machines. One way I tried to do this was to create a folder in the ...\browser\extensions folder and name it with the ID of the plugin. Is there any way to make the plugin enabled or will the user always have to manually enable it?
