Hi

Today Firefox started to ask "master password" on startup. Yes I use master password, but Firefox never asked it on startup. Why this could be happening? It does not matter what startup page I load, it could be blank page or any other. No sync or other Mozilla account is connected. Tried to disable all add-ons, does not help. Firefox version: 63.0.3 (64-bit).

Hello!

So, I was working on a new blog on which I'm using the Rubik font from Google fonts.

Everything was fine for several days, but today, after working for some time on it, the font just got messed up randomly (see attached image).

I added the font on a different, testing site and it shows messed up there as well, so it's not something website related.

Now, the shocking part is that it gets messed up only on Mozilla and only on the Mozilla browser that's on my Desktop PC.

I asked a friend to check it out and I also checked it out on my laptop, and the font is fine on other Mozilla browsers, as well as other browsers.

Other fonts from other websites are fine as well.

What troubleshooting I performed:

- Checked the font with Inspect Element, as it's shown here: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Page_Inspector/How_to/Edit_fonts and the font is set up correctly;

- Deleted the whole history since the beginning of time (cookies, cache, everything);

- Closed and opened Firefox again;

- Opened Mozilla in Safe Mode (hardware acceleration is disabled by default in safe mode);

- Restarted my PC;

- Uninstalled Mozilla as it shows here - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/uninstall-firefox-from-your-computer. Deleted the profile folder and everything.

- Installed a fresh copy again with no add-ons, no nothing.

Nothing worked. That font is still messed up on Mozilla, on this PC.

It doesn't make any sense, especially since it went nuts randomly without a particular reason.

Does anyone have an idea of what could be the problem and how to fix it?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Beginning with Firefox 58, I haven't been able to use it for more than 5 minutes as it constantly crashes. There is no crash report to speak of, only the 'Restore tabs' option.

I tried all the guides I could find: - restarted with all addons disabled - fully wiped any installations and downloaded a new version - I am running Mac OS Mojave 10.14.1 (18B75) (lastest version) - about:crashes does not list any reports

I am forced to use other browsers because of these crashes, which is unfortunate. I also use Firefox on Windows 10 and I've never seen it crash. I also recall it crashing on High Sierra as well, so the Mojave upgrade wasn't the source.

Can anyone help me out with debugging this issue as I simply cannot solve it by myself and I've exhausted all the official guides as well as other topics.

Thank you.

Hello,

I have a MX3-L wireless airmouse/keyboard and would like to remap the Home button on it to a combination of keys. I want to use the Home button for starting a new window of Firefox (Ctrl+N). Default page for Firefox is google.com. If I press the Home button while the window is not focused it opens a new window. If I press the Home button while the window is focused on it goes to the default page. So if I'm on any other page other than the default, I loose it, which I don't want. This used to work properly in Win7, but fails in Win10.

I also have a Microsoft Ergo 4000 wired keyboard which has a Home button. The button can be remapped/disabled by the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center. The default for the button is Start Web Browser. It behaves the same as the Home button on the airmouse. What I can do here is map the button so it starts a program. Setting it to start firefox.exe give me the result I want. Problem is this only affects the Microsoft keyboard.

Tried the following software: Key remapper Sharp keys Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator Keyboard-layout-editor.com KeyTweak MapKeyboard Key Mapper Key extender

Some did not see the Home key at all, and even the ones that saw it did not work. The only one that could remap to combination of keys is Key remapper, but does not work properly: I make the change to remap Home to Ctrl+N. This reactivates the Home button on the keyboard, even If I have it disabled. Pressing the Home button on the airmouse opens a new window, but also sends the old to it's default.

Can I change the firefox instead of going home to open a new window?

A while back I started having problems with tabs hanging in Firefox. This happens arbitrarily, in any site, without any user input. It may happen with tabs that have been on the background for a long while or with a brand new tab that I just opened. I'm attaching screenshots for a tab (that was) showing Facebook and one for a new tab without any site loaded. Whenever this happens, there will be a "WebContent" process at 100% CPU. The only solution is for me to kill that process.

I'm seeing this in two different computers, work and home. The usage pattern between these two is quite different, although I do have Firefox sync in both of them. I've tried deleting my profile (rm -rf ~/.mozilla/) but that hasn't helped. I've tried using safe mode and couldn't reproduce the error, but since these crashes happen about twice a day it's hard to say for sure. There are no crash reports in about:crashes.

Any tips to troubleshoot this problem?

This is not a gripe about frequent updates, nor a case of being redirected to the "browser updated" page every time I start Firefox.

What is happening is that every time I open Firefox, I get a message from Windows asking for permission to let Firefox perform an update, then after I click "Yes" a window with a loading bar that says "Firefox is installing your updates, this may take a few moments..." or something similar to that comes up, and then the browser opens when it is done updating.

This happens literally every time I start Firefox, even if I close it and immediately start it again. This has been happening for several days now, and refreshing Firefox has not helped.

When I use Bing Images and I click on an image that I have selected I have in the past been able to click on that image to view the enlarged version of it in one tab but now it incorrectly opens two tabs instead of one. This does not happen in Chrome or Edge. Now if I use the menu that has "view image" below the image it will not open two tabs but correctly open one tab to view enlarged version. Please see screenshots with captions. This has never happened with earlier versions of Firefox.

Thank you, Don

When I get prompted to update software, like Cisco Anyconnect, or Adobe Flash, I follow the prompts, and Firefox starts the download, creates a file, but no data is transferred. It just sits there with the file size at 0 bytes, and will do this indefinitely. To get around this I've used Chrome. I've also tried navigating to the download site in Firefox without the prompt, but it still does not work. For what it's worth here's troubleshooting info:

I set google.com as my homepage and haven't had problems until today. When I opened Firefox, The Microsoft homepage opened. I tried refreshing Firefox, checked the URL in Properties, and looked for add-ons--no fixes. The refresh had no effect, there was no URL added to the firefox.exe in properties, and I have no add-ons that would cause this. I thought it could be a virus but the page seems to be a legitimate Microsoft site. If I click the home icon on the tool bar, I get to the correct page. I'd appreciate any suggestions you might have. Thanks
