I shutdown my firefox browser and was running top on my linux POP_OS 22.04 laptop.

I noticed a firefox process running at 23 to 25 % of the cpu even though the browser was closed. Can you tell me what is running and how I control it?

So I just updated to version 106.0.1, and I noticed something new in the far right corner of the screen, an arrow with a dropdown function listed as view all tabs. I have no need for this and tried to use the customize toolbar option to remove it. It did not work. How do I get rid of this thing? It's just kinda taking up space on the screen as I doubt I'm ever gonna use it.

Any tips here?

Windows 10 pc can not start,I have gone through automatic repair and diagnostics steps,but am now on advamced options and think I need to Reset it.This will lose Firefox.When I install it again will I be able to sign into my Firefox account to retrieve bookmarks and passwords?I am very nervous about this,don't even know how to install Firefox,as someone gave me the computer and it was already in there. I am a tech dinosaur!Thank you in advance for any help.Lesley

I've tried refreshing and using it with zero addons. At the moment it seems to be freezing after I copy things from a textarea. It started freezing just after the Windows update... core isolation is OFF (laptop doesn't support it)... Firefox is at the latest version too.

For example, look at how the same page looks in Firefox 106.0.2 (64 bits) and Yandex Browser (22.9.4.866).

I tried changing the user agent, it didn't help. I think the problem is in the Java engine.

Firefox updated to 106.0.2 (64-bit). When I press ctrl-B, my bookmarks appear on the browser's left side as expected. However the text is not visible. If I hover my mouse over an icon is the list for a bookmark, the link appears. Also not all the bookmark icons appear. There are gaps between bookmarks on the list. Again, I have to hover my mouse over those gaps for bookmark info to appear. How do I make my bookmark list readable/usable again?

Last few days , my laptop( windows 10) system got hanged for some reason. Then second time I got the message on my laptop , that Software Mozzila Firefox got crashed. It had stopped working for few minutes then I restarted it. 1) Has it happened to my System? 2) or even others got the same experience? 3) How to start PC when windows stopped working Suddenly. 4)Was the Mozzila Firefox failure / crash, was the reason, behind PC not working during first time? 5) On laptop a message appears , to upgrade Operating system to Windows 11( currently it is windows 10) from MS. Greetings from North-East of France, since a few weeks ago I'm seeing a (sort of) pop-up window suggesting to login with a Google account (see the screenshot attached). I've done some internet search to find out how to get rid of it, but the only suggestion I get is to modify an option in a Google account. However, I do not have a Google account! How to get rid of this disturbing pop-up? I already use Adblock Plus and uBlock Origin, yet Google passes through them! Thank you in advance for any help you may provide.

  I come back for a problem that I faced some months ago and I think is getting worse, meaning that it looks like it is affecting more applications. 
  I first noticed that there are some greek websites, that are loading pop-up cookies settings with corrupted greek characters. The rest of the site displays greek properly. When I open the Inspector and check the font, it is Helvetica family font that is not appearing correctly (image 1). This is the case when in Settings->General->Fonts->Advanced, the "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of your selections above" checkbox is selected-ticked. When the checkbox is de-selected/unticked, the same pop-up cookies settings is displaying properly (image 2). The problem remains using Chrome, but Firefox is my main browser. 
  The same issue exists with Thunderbird as well, where again in Settings->General->Fonts->Advanced, the checkbox "Allow messages to use other fonts" changes the way emails appear in greek language (images 3 and 4). 
  I have also noticed that with Discord application, there is a similar issue (image 5). Some greek characters are not displaying properly. I uninstalled and reinstalled Discord (in greek), but the problem remains the same. When installing english version of Discord, it is ok. 
 The problem also seems to be with greek language versions of websites, like facebook homepage in english and in greek language (images 6 and 7). 
 I have tried to search for similar problems and suggested solutions on the internet, but there is no permanent solution so far for my PC. I have followed https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fi... solution, running Firefox in Troubleshoot mode, which resolves the problem temporarily, but not permanently. According to the above solution, "the likely cause is an extension, theme or hardware acceleration", but when I follow every step to determine which one of these (extension, theme or hardware acceleration) is the problem, all of these prove to work properly (supposing I'm following steps correctly). 
 I'm not sure if this is a Mozilla or a Windows issue. Therefore, any suggestions for a permanent solution would be much appreciated.

So firefox dev edition makes connections after booting the pc, even when i did not open it. Now i dont think its a big deal because so far i can tell those connections to the adress 127.0.0.1 should be only local connections that dont leave my local network, right? Question is, why does it do that? The standard firefox browser doesnt ever behave like that, so why does the dev version? What i dont like here is the fact that a program does things on its own without me interacting with it, firefox is a browser and should only be active when i use it, not on its own. So what are these connections and why are they there? How do you disable the browser acting on its own? I did not install the maintenance service.

Firefox (on a MacBook Pro, OS 10.14.5) rapidly stopped working today. First, one open page stopped updating (webmail), but others (e.g., weather) still worked. Soon, progressively, nothing worked, and it wouldn't open new pages, links, or bookmarks. I downloaded a new version, 106.0.1, but that dmg file wouldn't open: "no such file or directory" (despite ostensibly containing 135 MB). Yet that version seems to be what's running now. I don't know how recently my Firefox got updated; possibly an update is the problem, but why newly today is unclear. I'm now using Safari, since Firefox is kaput.

Hello, I am a user on Mac! I am having an issue with moving tabs fluidly. Yes, moving tabs inside the window is easy but when I move them outside the window, it makes me a little uncomfortable. In the images and video I have sent, you can see that an unnecessary thumbnail of the tab pops up even when I move the tabs inside the window. This makes it harder to know if I am even moving the tab in the first place. Then it takes like 2-5 seconds for the new window of the individual tab I moved to appear. If whatever I said is quite confusing which I apologize for, I would very much recommend taking a look at Google Chrome, the browser I don't prefer, however, try moving the tabs around and outside one window and creating more windows with individual tabs. It feels more fluid or swift and easy to handle. Compare that to Firefox and a big difference is to be seen. I am concerned about this issue really because I am replacing my previous browsers, not only Google Chrome but browsers like Edge too which are capable of not having that issue, with Firefox instead and hopefully Firefox can have this capability. I also multitask a lot so I usually encounter this problem on Firefox. I hope this is fixed and am sure it will help a lot of users! Thank you! i use the same add-ons on my desktop and laptop. i open my laptop and click on synchronize and later i open my desktop. two of these add-ons on the desktop have disappeared! this is not the first time. what can do i, how can install it to prevent it does not happen again?

A couple days ago, late, I accidentally closed my main Firefox window before a little window that I'd forgotten was there - and all my 76 tabs disappeared. 1st thing yesterday I tried - 3bar / history / recently closed tabs - but the only thing in there was the one tab from the small window. Urg! I tried that and - 3bar / history / manage - where I could see my tabs but could only restore 1 at a time - not good for 76 tabs. I read a bunch of different questions about this same issue, and tried the suggestions, including some app called scrounge, but none of these restored my tabs. Help!!!!

I am using Firefox for ARM64 Windows and noticed that the browser will lock up at random (roughly every half an hour, and usually after trying to navigate to a new page). As the browser doesn't actually crash, just freezes, I have no crash reports to submit.

I am using a Windows Devkit for ARM.

As a developer myself, my instinct tells me this could be an issue with Firefox's JIT for Arm64 platforms but I have no proof.

Before today, my 1Password 8 password manager worked just fine with Firefox browser on Windows 11. I updated my Firefox browser to 106.0.1 (64 bits) today and all of a sudden my 1Password manager stopped filling in my usernames and passwords for me into my logins. How do I get this functionality back so my 1Password manager works with Firefox again? Is there some setting that I failed to update in Firefox? Thanks. MR

Hello community, As soon as firefox 106.0.2 finished installing itself i was greated with some nice new color schemes to choose from, and also some other settings regarding accessing content and tabs from other devices, retrieving closed tabs and so on. Ever since i can't seem to find and access those settings. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. I'm on linux, Manjaro.

For the recent past, the font size on FF tabs, url, bookmark bar, tabs and anything else to do with the actual FF program has a font so small that it is unreadable unless I use the W10 magnifier. I have spent hours, days and weeks trying everything I can find to increase the font size and nothing has worked. I am vision impaired and understand that everything cannot be adjusted to my needs BUT there are hundreds of postings on line by people with good vision complaining about the non adjustable font sizes. Does FF have any intentions on finding a fix for this? I am an avid user of FF but am at a point with my vision to where it is too problematic for me to continue using. If you cannot fix this issue then I must find a program that does not have this problem. It may very well be a conflict between FF and W10 but even that were the case, there are supposed to be a lot of intellingent individuals that should be able to remedy this situation. Please advise of your intentions as soon as possible in order that I may proceed with my plans. Sincerely, Ron Burnes

font corruption? the font called Calibri is showing up as italic in all websites that use calibri. but i dont have calibri installed on my computer. how do i fix this? in the past, my friend had a similar issue with fonts looking all weird in code on websites and i told her it was font corruption and had to remove a font on the system level which rectified the issue. but in my case, i dont have calibri installed on my computer. so when i go to the outlook website, all the emails are coming in as calibri italic out of nowhere, when i didnt change any font settings. if i go into google docs, and paste some notes and change all the notes to the font called calibri, it shows it as italic. but i dont have italic selected in google docs. how do i fix this in firefox???

I was trying to move it and I accidentally deleted it. I would like to reinstall it. I cannot seem to find the right phrase to find it on your sight and do a reinstall. If you would be so kind to point me in the right direction,I would be most grateful. Little updates like this is why I have remained a loyal fan since the Netscape Navigator days.
