On lots of websites text appear as an 'A' in a box (see screenshot - i've blurred some content due to privacy). I've gone through my preferences and checked 'Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of your selections above'. When I uncheck this box using my font selections things display fine however when I check it I get this problem. I'm a web developer so I can't override site fonts, I need them to display as intended. I've checked Chrome and Safari on my machine and they are fine so this problem is isolated to FireFox. I've tried restarting FF in safe mode but it made no difference, I went to the config page and changed network and gfx references back to 'reset' and again it doesn't make a difference.
System details: FF = 56.0 (64 bit) OSX = 10.9.5

I have looked around this site for answers and have not found a clear concise answer to this. I am hoping someone has the easy, simple answer to what I have asked. Thank you in advance.
When I do a search, the results shows as question marks instead of text. I cleaned my cache (Library/Cache) just before so I must have done something wrong.
Yeah... I must have "flushed" something that I shouldn't of.

I recently refreshed Firefox, and found myself suddenly dealing with an inability to clearly see and read what the letters on my screen were. I tried to change the font back to what it was, and that failed. I thought maybe refreshing again would fix the problem (I'm and optimist), but no. Changing the setting in options changes nothing in my browser. It's irritating because I don't like other browsers, but unless this can be corrected, I may have to find a new one.

In the last month( i think after updating to frfx 58) when I type to reply to email in my Gmail account in my browser ( firefox 58.0.2) I get to see the standard formatting of the text (blue, comic sans etc) but when I actually send it, the sent email has the format disappeared and is standard format instead (in black plain font for example). This also happens in my other Gmail accounts too. I tried in MS IntExplorer and there is not a problem (meaning it is NOT my GMAIL's account settings)
Any suggestion/help?

Hi All fine until the latest Firefox update. Straight afterwards the keyboard wasn't functioning - weird characters and symbols instead of letters. I closed it down, opened in safe mode, closed down, opened normally and the keyboard working normally. Unfortunately I have to keep doing this. I can get Firefox to work by going into safe mode but it doesn't last. Keep getting keyboard problems. Is there a long-term solution please?

After Firefox has been open more than a few minutes, usually with at least two or three windows and/or tabs open, when I try to type accented characters (á, é, í, ó, ú Á É Í Ó Ú) they come out with an extra accent mark preceding the accented letter (´á ´é ´í ´ó ´ú). I usually have a WebWhatsApp window open.
This doesn't happen in other browsers or other programs that take text.
At the same time, the Ctrl+F (for find) function stops working. If I close all of the windows, and attempt to reopen Firefox, I get an error that says that Firefox is still running, and do I want to close it? I say yes, and it closes. And for a short or longer while, the problems go away. Then they come back.

Hello people, I saw a couple threads about "boxes with numbers and letters inside" (for example, "why do sometimes text symbols appear as boxes with numbers/letters in them" and "Boxes with numbers and letters show instead of certain images on some websites"). I am using a chat service, and when my counterpart sends me some emoticons, instead of the emoticon I see the little square with HEX digits inside. The interesting part is that if I "brutally" copy-and-paste the little square, and send it over the chat, my counterpart actually sees the original emoticon! Ok, that's interesting, but my question is not about the fact that I can't see the emoticon. Actually, I wish to carry out a similar operation with control characters. More specifically, I need to send the BEL character (ASCII 7) over the chat, in order to beep my counterpart's computer, and vice versa. I already tried to type [CTRL+G] in the outbox of the chat, but it doesn't work, because instead of seeing the "^G" output that I expected, the "Find" bar is invoked... curiously, "Find" should pop up with [CTRL+F], so it seems that [CTRL+F] and [CTRL+G] do have exactly the same effect! o_O Similarly, since my counterpart often accesses the chat with an iPhone instead of PC, I think that the [CTRL+G] key combination is not suitable for the scope of beeping my computer. So I'm wondering whether there's a way to actually obtain a "somehow-visible" character corresponding to ASCII 7 that can be copied-pasted and sent over a chat, in order to "beep" one's computer. If I could somehow get a "little box with numbers in it" corresponding to "BEL"... =^_^= Thank you! :o)

Hi, I'm just working on a new website, and I noticed something odd that happens only when I open the site via Firefox. On browsers like Safari and Chrome the rgb hex colour looks identical as in Adobe Photoshop or Apple Pages, where I created content, but Firefox seems to oversaturate the fonts quite nasty for some reason.
I attachted you a screenshot where it should be very visible. If this is a bug, is it possible to get this fixed soon? I don't really want to put a warning on my website for Firefox users if possible.

A complex website I created suddenly has multiple Windows Mozilla users complaining that the font size is smaller in Web forms. They've sent me screen shots and it's true. They say this occurred around Wednesday August 19, 2015.
No changes have been made to the website. There are a production and a test website and the problem exists in both places. The problem exists only on Mozilla on Windows, and multiple individual users have experienced it.
I have verified the font looks smaller on Mozilla. There is no such problem in Google Chrome.
Did an automatic update perhaps change the default font size? Possibly only the font size inside Web form fields?
