New update includes a dialog box that will pop up on each and every download (like you just fell off the turnip truck and you forgot where your download folder is located):

"Locating and Installing Your Download

When your download is complete please use the instructions below to begin the installation of your download or locate your downloaded files on your computer.

Firefox

  • Click the down arrow in the top right of the browser Windows Users - Click the small image of the folder next to your download
  • Mac Users - Click the small image of the magnifying glass next to your download.

The folder that contains your download will now be open."

This my first ever whatever this is supposed to be, created an account to ask a question to which I will get no answer for... user friendly=less clicks, not more... Get rid of it, please... or at least the common courtesy of a toggle switch.

I tried to change some things in about:config which resulted in websites not working properly and reverting the changes wouldn't fix it, so I had to do a refresh of Firefox. The sites work like they used to now.

I'm still confused about Firefox Sync's functionality because when I set it up to sync my tabs it never wants to do it, but immediately after the refresh it downloaded all of my Add-ons right away, which was nice to see. However, my settings/options from those Add-ons are missing, like my uBlock filter lists or various Tampermonkey user scripts.

Is there any way I could recover the Add-on settings from the profile backup which the refresh created on my Desktop? There's a folder called browser-extension-data with some other folders inside, but they're all empty. I tried looking for it myself but couldn't find solutions. I also have a complete profile backup I manually made just before I the Refresh as a safety measure if needed. Thank you very much..!
