The new native tab group feature has an option to "Save and close group", implying that you can restore the group. But doing this, you will find that the group disappears.

Is this a known bug? Has anyone figured out how to restore a saved tab group?

When the new Firefox version offered Tab Groups, I was enthusiastic. I have a huge number of open tabs reflecting all aspects of my life. What a disappointment to find now that all those individual tabs are still sitting there on the tab bar, just grouped. I need to COLLAPSE those groups, at least until I hover over or right-click the group icon. What a bother.

Running FF 138 64-bit on Win 10 Home, and tabs won't combine. When I move one tab over another, I get NO GLOWING RING, and the tabs just swap places as I move the first tab over the second one, no matter how slowly I move them. It doesn't work in Vertical Tabs, either.

the tab groups feature doesn't work. WHen i drag one tab onto another, nothing happens, other than the tabs go back and forth. Can't put one tab over another and no group is created.

I was excited to receive the new Tab Groups feature and am now disappointed that it's not working and I've 'lost' dozens of tabs.

Here's what I did: I created several groups by right-clicking and added tabs to each of the groups. Since it appears that only way to collapse a group is to "save and close group," I closed each group. Now they are all gone. When I right-click to create a new group or "add tab to group," the closed groups are nowhere to be found. Plus, I do not see a "list all tabs icon" on my toolbar to reopen the grouped tabs, which is what [article] says should happen.

Suggestions for making this work?

I have v138.1 and tab groups are not working. When I try and put one over another to create a group, it just sides away. I read this feature would be available on v137 and up after 5/6/25🤷🏼‍♂️

I'm really enjoying the new Tab Groups feature in Firefox. It helps me organize my tabs especially when I have multiple work to do. However, I've found the process a bit tricky because dragging the tabs sometimes moves the tabs and it takes some time for the Groups dialog to show. It's a bit frustrating.

It would be great to have a modifier key, like holding down shift or alt while dragging the tab, to instantly move them to a group or any of the groups without accidentally rearranging them. This would make the grouping process feel more precise.

When I hold control on my Mac and click on a Tab the box that opens has no option to rename or to group the tabs together....I am running Firefox 138. Clearly I am missing something. It offers a function that would save me a lot of time, I hope you can help

I have the most recent update and have been excited about tab groups, but it's still not working on mine. I thought the update would be available to all as of May 6, 2025. Is this happening to anyone else?

I'm running v138.0.1, but the ability to group tabs that was supposedly introduced in v137 is completely absent from my browser. I can neither drag tabs onto another to create a group, nor create groups by right clicking on a tab. What's up with that?

the tab groups page i was shown by firefox says i should be able to group my tabs starting at the latest yesterday but my tabs still just move out of the way and refuse to group. i found container groups but they work nothing like the page showed. i have firefox version 138 and the tab groups was starting to be roled out on 137

I've got Reading the full Article on GROUP TABS that has been released yesterday on My Firefox it Got Update and Installed But I just couldn't found the "Add to the Group option when I click right at any of my tab" + If I drag over one on Another Tab it just got replaced like they substitute their Places No BOX Border line Shows No Group Created NOTHING. Hello, so I have been waiting for the Tab Groups feature and saw it should be available by the 6th of May, but after waiting, still no Tab Groups, I am not sure what to do or if there is a problem.

I was really excited when they introduced tab groups, but now after using them for a few weeks the option seems to have disappeared? My groups are still there, but I can't create any new ones and if I delete one, I can't get it back. I can't find anything about the groups in settings either.

Prior to the newest update (I suspect-- as I had access to them earlier today), I was able to use the new group Tabs feature and no longer seem to be able to do so. I checked the update log and saw that something seemed to have happened within the last two or so hours and would like to see if I did something wrong or if I can get access to those Group Tabs again as it was extremely useful and awesome

Hi, First of all, thank you very much for this feature. It's very helpful. Since IE8 died I've not seen implementation of this feature as simple and good as your one.

But, are there any settings for it? Mainly asking because want to enable default grouping for a tabs opened from another "alone" tab. Would like them to auto-create group with their parent tab. And also would be great to have a possibility to change behavior like: put new tab at the start/end of the group, or to even not include tabs into existing group.

I am using the Firefox browser version 138. However I am not able to use the Tab Groups from firefox. I cannot add any Tabs to any group as there is no option for that.
