Whenever I go to watch a html5-video firefox crashes, before any video appears. Whether it's on youtube or somewhere else. I have tried to refresh firefox, I have even tried to completely remove my profile and use a completely fresh one. I have tried to remove the mozilla folder in .cache.

These are some of my crash reports: bp-a6cca4f9-9911-4861-8652-a9b3c2150727 2015-07-27 18:35 bp-5a993273-4086-462a-917d-38b2b2150727 2015-07-27 18:22 bp-95bddcc7-531c-46de-850b-ca04e2150727 2015-07-27 18:10 bp-e6a1df1f-255e-4b4b-aeb6-b83392150727 2015-07-27 17:53

It works fine if I try to play videos in another browser, like Chromium.

I can no longer use Firefox for many of the sites that I know to be perfectly fine as they are ours. Firefox used to simply ask what I wanted to do and I had the ability to add a security exception and then I was able to access the site. Now it just fails to connect and even if I go to the Tools-> Options-> Advanced and go to Certificates, I have not yet been able to figure out how to be able to access a site once you decide it is insecure (even when I want to access it).

If I can't find a way to solve this problem, I will be forced to use a different browser as it makes Firefox quite limited for my purposes - only useful for general browsing.

This might be a dumb question but what does firefox sync actually sync to- meaning what device is the master? Is there a master or should it make each device a combination of both preferences/tabs/menu etc? UGH! What am I missing here?

I have a desktop, laptop and iphone and would like to sync them all. So far I've created an account and the menu says they are all included in my account but nothing is syncing...

Isn't this actually supposed to make it so if I open tabs on my desktop and then have a meeting somewhere else I should be able to open firefox on my laptop and see my desktop tabs there? Isn't it supposed to sync everything? What am I missing? So far my menu bar syncs on the laptop and desktop but nothing else does.

Please help me! Thanks, SC

This problem started last day. When I in my Facebook page, the blue color wheel always rotates. It is like some process is going on my Facebook page or in my PC. I checked my process list in my PC but I didn't find anything suspicious. It doesn't happen in chrome. And the matter is, this problem is only showing up in FB.

Please help me what can I do. I am using bitdefender as my antivirus and I have my firewall off. Also windows update is turned off.

This has been happening for about three months. Originally refreshing the page a couple of times would let me through after displaying the standard 'connection to this site is untrusted' window. I have added all sites to the 'allow' page numerous times, both manually and by pressing the shortcut button that appears under the 'I understand the risks' tab. It never solved the problem. I even went as far as to remove and re-add the web sites back onto the allowed access list. I've checked windows defender. All web security was turned off. Nothing is working and this bug looks fatal.

As of about a month and a half ago, the 'I understand the risks' tab disappeared and was replaced with a 'Technical Details' tab. I will post the exact text below:

Technical Details

www.google.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. The server might not be sending the appropriate intermediate certificates. An additional root certificate may need to be imported.

(Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)

This error happens repeatedly and is, as far as I can tell, unsolvable. I've refreshed Firefox, thinking it was a stereotypical error with the newest update, but nothing has changed. Please help! I need to access all my important documents and files from Google Drive! I've tried everything in my power is solve this myself, but nothing will work.

I understand you have removed the ability of Adobe Flash to run on your browser, but a majority of the websites still use Adobe Flash for video content. And by removing access Adobe Flash on those websites requires me to use a different browser (Chrome and IE). In which case, I may decide to stick with the other browser.

Maybe your organization can come up with a security patch for FireFox, instead of removing the access until Adobe resolves the issue to your liking ?

I recently updated Firefox (I don't know the update number, but for reference, the date is July 3rd 2015) and now, whenever I open a new tab and type in the address bar to go to a website, it doesn't register when I hit enter. Autofill seems to be disabled, too. Firefox also seems to not respond more frequently than usual. (My computer is slow and around 5 years old so I am used to Firefox not responding to me every now and then.)

I've already tried system restore, but it turns out my system was out of restore points. Restarting didn't help, either. I am able to navigate the web through links, and I currently have a Google tab open to get to the websites I need rather than using the address bar, but this is worrying me. Is it something with the Firefox update that didn't sit right with my computer, or could I have gotten a virus of some kind?

Additional information added July 8th by a forum moderator. (~J99)

There is a known bug with Firefox affecting some people who have a certain type of corruption of a of a database file. This causes errors that result in the address bar not working. For such people the first step is to try to use the addon places maintenance to repair the database. If that fails the file places.sqlite needs to be renamed. I just disabled shockwave flash due to vulnerability and Firefox blocking. What add-on do I use to replace flash platform? HTML5? If so which one? Related, I don't fully understand the technology. Is it my responsibility to find the appropriate plug-in to view videos on websites? Or is it the website owner who determines whether their video platform is HTML5 or Flash...and I am stuck when its flash tech and I choose to no longer use the flash plug-in?

Thanks for your help.
