Did Firefox 74 introduce a minimum windows size? Can it be disabled?

Hi,

I like to work with side-by-side Firefox windows, with one of the windows being far slimmer (horizontally) than the other. Since I updated to Firefox 74.0 today, I can't resize the windows as I like to do. I can resize them, but it's like there's a minimum fixed size to what I can resize it to and then it locks and doesn't go any slimmer from there (maybe so the browser controls don't overlap?). That fixed size is far too big for my use case, i.e. I absolutely need it slimmer. I'm not entirely sure if the previous Firefox version contained a fixed minimum size, but if it did, it was much smaller (it allowed controls to overlap, which wasn't a problem for me)

Is there a setting that I can change in Firefox 74 so that I can make the windows as slim as I require again?

Security consultants have advised that cipher suites using the SHA1 hash are no longer considered secure and should not be enabled.

Using the nmap tool we can identify which cipher suites use the SHA1 hash.

On our webserver, (IIS version 8.5 on Windows 2012 R2 ) if we eliminate cipher suites that contain the SHA1 hash, the Firefox browser cannot browse the site. Error displayed = Secure Connection Failed - PR_CONNECT_ABORTED_ERROR We tested versions up to Firefox ( v75.0 ).

Other browsers such as Chrome and IE have no issues browsing our site with the SHA1 hash disabled.

Once the SHA1 hash is enabled, Firefox works fine. Seeking a solution that will satisfy the security folks and our Firefox users.

I can browse web pages fine, but I cannot gain access to login to my FireFox Account. I have had to use another browser to post this as I needed to login to my Forefox Account in order to do so.

Why am I seen these symbols?

Hi,

we have a website that runs without any issues on Chrome/IE/Firefox (private mode only). When we browse the website in Firefox (normal mode) it logs in fine but subseqent HTTP GET/POST are automatically redirect to our login page without any errors in the network/console developer tools.

If we disable the cache in Developer tools then the website works without any issues in Normal mode. This has started happening from last 2 months (hopefully due to the chagnes in Firefox)

Any advice on how to diagnose the problem will be helpful

Thanks in advance.

Hi! I've switched to Firefox quite recently and I love pretty much everything about the browser. The only problem I've been experiencing is that whenever I try to print a page the whole browser crashes. I've tried removing all the settings for printing in prefs.js but that didn't seem to help in any way and the crashes don't turn up in the about:crashes tab. Has anyone else been experiencing this and perhaps knows how to fix it?

Firefox complete broke for me. I have a Dell XPS laptop with windows 10, purchased about a month ago. Yesterday, when I clicked on firefox, it opened frozen with no menu or toolbar at the top. I restarted my computer to no avail. This morning, I reinstalled firefox. It seemed to be working fine, but now has stopped. Now, when I open it, it is the same. Frozen with no menu or toolbar at the top (see attached screenshot). I have one add-on, which I added, Ad-Block Plus. Any ideas?

When I print from Chrome or Brave browsers from our local online newpaper app, I get one print dialog with the item I've asked to print shown in the preview. Perfect. When I print from Firefox I get the same thing, but on top of that is another print dialog previewing a blank page that I have to get rid of before I can get to the actual print dialog I want.

So I have to "cancel" the bogus, top dialog that wants to print a blank page, and then the print dialog that I want is available.

Obviously I want to get rid of the first print dialog that wants to print a blank page.

I've gone through the Mozilla "Fix printing problems in Firefox" page, which includes taking all statements with arguments starting with "print_" out of prefs.js in my profile, and that didn't help at all. Exactly the same extra print dialog after doing that.

So I really have no idea why Firefox is doing this when I ask it to print, any ideas how to troubleshoot or fix?

Thanks!

First I saved the file on my desktop with firefox. When I attempted to open it later, all I saw was a list of unscripted files that were meaningless. I then proceeded to save the original file on my desktop using internet explorer..proceeded to open it and all the pages and graphics were intact. So tell me why I should continue using firefox when all I see is jumbled java script. I need to save files on my desktop.

Basic TROUBLESOME issues like this, which are of prime necessity to this user, firefox seems to ignore .
