Latest update installed and lo and behold, once again Mozilla screwed it up. I now have one tab on the bottom of the page instead of many in a toolbar at the top of the page. Mozilla continues to ignore users' complaints about tab location preferences and other tab functionality and arbitrarily making decisions which for most people make no sense. This latest iteration of Firefox (89.0) is for me the last straw. I will no longer humor Mozilla by spending countless frustrating hours correcting your obvious lack of programming skills by attempting to return my browser to what it was prior to another faulty update. My patience has finally run out. Before I leave Mozilla and Firefox, one last comment. Because the Mozilla support forum relies on amateurs and volunteers to answer users questions, and since I have had trouble getting workable solutions to my problems, I tried to send feedback directly to Mozilla. That was a monumental task which I was not up to, obviously, which is why I'm here. Whatever good there is in Firefox is far out weighed by the lack of programming skills, beta testing, quality control, etc. prior to forcing out updates to it's users. Like many recent users I have decided to forego further use of the Firefox browser which is unreliable from a development team which does not seem to care. I am beginning to wonder if the continuing screw ups are being deliberately caused by embedded saboteurs from Google or Microsoft!

I've been on Firefox for 15 years, I suppose - it's really the only browser I've used. I've seen the product go steadily downhill, but I've stuck with it - because (until last week) Firefox had the best support for people with visual disabilities - like myself.

But 89 is the last straw. The new UX, the new setup for tabs is simply unusable for me - and I suspect for many with visual impairment. I can't even see the tabs distinctly.

It's a bloody shame. Firefox was a great product. Firefox - 20 or so versions ago - was better than anything else out there. But now.

It's unusable for me - and I'm sure many others.

I'm not saying this to gripe. I'm saying this so that, hopefully someone in Mozilla will change the strategy of a new release every ten days, and go back to a stable, usable, secure browser.

But it's a sad day.

Hi I have noticed that when you visit a website that you have visited before, it changes the date and moves the site to the top of the history. Is there any way to disable this? I want to see history as it is, with exact date and time, even if I visit again the same website. How I can fix this ?

I used to have a nice blue strip across the top of any active window. It is now grey, which I find depressing and it is no longer possible to see when a window has gone inactive. How do I get my blue back? I tried downloading Firefox colors but when I tried to use it it wouldn't load, I waited and waited then gave up. I cannot take a screenshot of the strip I am talking about as is it outside the screenshot field. (Above it.) Many thanks, Kitty

jscher has been very helpful with my intense dislike of Version 89, but in the last few days, something changed here and I can't get back into that discussion.

I updated my upstairs PC to 89, then was absolutely horrified when I saw it. It's ugly. There is little to no differentiation between the different parts of the screen. My Bookmarks list had so much extra white space added that I had to scroll down three screens to see it all - it used to fit on one page.

You made the type smaller and the bubbles larger.

You changed the ENTIRE Options menu so it's now hard to find what I want, and some functions have been removed.

Also, your STOP POPUPS no longer works AT ALL. I am being inundated with them.

I was so angry at this terrible Facebook-like new version that I deleted FF completely, ran CCleaner and re-loaded Version 88. Of course I lost all my favorites while doing this. When I went back upstairs a few hours later, the update was re-done WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. Very sneaky.

I found out how to shut off all the Proton stuff, so I can now use FF upstairs. I see tons of "fixes" using CSS stuff, which I am not comfortable using. A browser should make these options EASY!

You say this is a "new, clean look." You didn't take into consideration that many users like the way it looked before, and don't want to re-learn an entire new program. Please add back in choices for those of us who are not IT geek coders and just need a simple, FUNCTIONING browser.

I admit, I loathe the new Firefox look. With burning passion. I did get the tabs to look like they did previously, which helps tremendously. Unfortunately, this fix will likely be temporary.

However, my actual question is - in the landing/startup page where I can pin sites I often visit, how do I return the old nice and large icons that were actually unique at a very quick glance? The new ones are indistinct, and horribly spaced from each other. I use the normal browser, not on phone, i-anything, or any other mobile device. They don't need to be a mile apart from each other, and teeny tiny and similar on top of that.

Just... is there any option for me to swap them, even temporarily, back to how they were?

I've recently struck problems trying to download pdf and html files from webpage links. I've been using Firefox for a year, but these problems only seem to have been happening in perhaps the last three months. One of the online accounts I was trying to download from - I rang them - suggested I try using Google Chrome, and I was successful on that browser. So why won't they download for me on Firefox? [I've played around with the settings for downloading apps, and have read a number of previous questions on this forum, none of which have addressed my particular problem.] You must have come across this before, so what do you advise? I'm using Windows 10, fully updated. An opened html file looks like the attached screenshot.

I recently (Accidentally, I might add) updated firefox. I used to have clear glass, windows 7 styled tabs for Firefox, just so I am able to see behind my tabs and onto other programs and such. This new update completely removed the ability to do that for whatever reason, and I have to pick between like 4 cookie-cutter "Minimalist" Discord/Twitter, "Simplistic" looking "themes". It's been a far bit of time since I managed and fumbled my way into getting the clear glass look. Something like the image attached, except with Firefox. Now it's gone, and I would like some assistance or guidance on how I can get it back to the way it was.

I am beyond pissed, and have already turned off auto updates. Any help would be appreciated.

At first blush, I'm not finding this "makeover" particularly helpful.

In particular, now the window banner background color is invariable. Most apps follow Windows theme. But not FF - colors do not change, as they should, when window becomes active. Curiously, the show all Bookmarks | History (probably as they are native Windows dialogs), do not have this annoyance.

Was this considered an improvement, or is it a mistake? Yes, I have tried to fix this in Settings but find nothing relevant.

Thank you.

With FF open to a banking site, Excel and other apps (2nd FF instance) will not accept alpha/numeric keyboard input. Arrow keys and enter key still work. Logged out from bank, close the FF window, bring up new tab (Goggle) and type "123" in search bar, then Excel works okay. Also works if I use Edge to get to my bank accounts.

Work around #1: save bank page on desktop, close the on-line page, and open it from desktop. Work around #2: Use Edge.

Added info: problem is not consistent. Sometimes things work okay, sometimes not.
