I'm hiding menu items using userChrome.css with option “toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets” set to “true”.

So I am hiding some menu items like for example

1. menu_find { display: none !important }

however though the menu item is gone how do I get rid of the ctrl-F menu shortcut...

I have many such menu items to remove so I need a generic solution to override the short-cut icons associated with the menu items I want to remove

How to allow web page to override a keyboard shortcut. Currently firefox picks up the shortcut instead of the webpage...

For example I have an webpage that detects ctrl-shift-h which worked fine in version 56 but now in version 96 it brings up a "Show All History" dialog

Tried to reset settings. Does not work. Went to about:config, than tab.mo / print.tab_modal.enabled set to false. Did this method before and it worked. Now this method does not work trying to get print preview back. Firefox is my web browser. I am in windows 8.1. Seems like Firefox did some updates again and now I can not get print preview back! WHY DOES NOT FIREFOX LEAVE WILL ENOUGH ALONE WHEN THEY HAVE SOMETHING GOOD? Bring back the old classic print preview button back and leave it. Now how can I get the old print preview button back???? Prior to FF97 a simply setting to "false" the about:config, print.tab_modal.enabled setting allowed FF to always use the system dialog box when printing. However, in FF97, this is no longer the case. How can I set FF97 to always use the system print dialog box??

I almost always use Preview printing on my Macs to avoid multiple pages of garbage so this is fairly important to me...and it might help to save a few trees...

I just updated from Firefox 96.0.3 to Firefox 97. When I try to print I get the Firefox preview, even though I have print.tab_modal.enabled set to false. Please fix it so that I can get the print system dialog without going via the Firefox preview. Note that I have now reverted to Firefox 96.0.3 and won't update from this unless the problem is fixed.

I have a locked file that shows up as Invalid Symlinks error. I am not sure but I think it may be Profile.ini Here is what I am getting that tells me its a Non-Existent Destination file. My question is why is it Invalid symlink and what can I do to fix it? Here is what I get: Lock In symlink folder /home/butch/.mozilla/firefox/6q1a4nt2.default-release 127.0.1.1:+2708 type of error Non-existent Destination File 2022-03-08 21:15:25

I'm using firefox 97 on mac. Whenever I copy and paste an image from firefox, the image comes out desaturated as if it is using the wrong color profile. I tried changing the gfx.color_management settings without it improving. The images look fine and are the right colors in the browser, however, the issue only happens when I copy and paste images. Firefox behaves like the color management is disabled (set to 0 in config) but ONLY when copying and pasting images.

I do not have this issue with other browsers such as chrome.

I use to be able to change firefox icons by adding these files in Firefox under the browser directory

It worked in version 56 but now in version 97 and this no longer works?

I have Firefox V97.0 on My Mac Studio. I am trying to open a Firefox account because my Pocket app says I have to. How do I UPGRADE my Firefox Browser to make that happen ... or do I have the latest version already? Believe it or not, your support pages don't talk about upgrading at all.

I can't login to the NY Times website using Firefox. I'm sure I'm using the correct password because I can log in using a different browser. I don't save passwords in Firefox. I enter them manually or use a password manager. As I said, I'm certain I'm using a valid password. I've cleared the cookies and all of the items under History on the Settings page. When I close Firefox, nothing is saved. When I contact NYT customer service, I was informed that they've had a lot of requests for assistance from Firefox users, and nothing was out of order with those users' NYT login; the problem was with Firefox.

Please advise.

My Windows PC apparently crashed when I tried to Hibernate. I knew this because when starting up the PC state was not persisted. I started Firefox (v97 x64) and it would not load any websites. The about:config page loaded.

I was at a loss as to how to resolve this as I could find no advice for this problem.

I thought I would try Safe Mode. Unexpectedly, just starting in Safe Mode resolved the issue without doing anything else. I am now back to normal.

I'm curious to know what just starting in Safe Mode did to resolve the issue. I also want to broadcast this as I did not find this as a potential solution.

I get the message under Settings: "Your browser is being managed by your organization". Clicking on that message shows that the policy DisableAppUpdate is true. Methods for remeding this situation do not work. Please advise on how to change the policy to allow update please

When attempting to compose a Hotmail email, without provocation, the email will leave the screen altogether, landing in either 'draft' or 'sent'. If I'm replying to an email, the reply will disappear into draft or sent folders, and the original gets thrown into the archive folder (or some other folder). The auto-fill option has a tendency to not include vowels. Any help would be appreciated.

Please help me remove this blank area section on the web pages. its on all of them on every tab. I have tried restarting and updating. I cant get it to go away.

Why, with not very many active open windows, and just after opening, is FF using 175% of my CPU, not counting all the separate listings in my Activity Monitor. Plus it's using nearly all 16 GBs of my RAM. With every new update, I pray it will mean the browser will just work, and not use up all my computer's resources, but it just never does. Pretty soon, more & more of us will just give up on this browser, which used to work better, years ago, and has only gone downhill since.

I have noticed recently that every week or so my Firefox browser will randomly change my homepage directory to the landing page / search for MSN, which is baffling, since it is obtrusive and anti-Mozilla to me.

If y'all are sneaking it in for that sweet ad revenue, I understand, but I would donate to avoid this issue.

Otherwise Firefox / Thunderbird are awesome, and I appreciate all that you do!

This is the third time I've lost all my passwords (and logins) since the beginning of the year. I had over 200 when I lost it the first time. I've entered over 75 since then and today I just lost those. Fortunately, I had a backup of my profile. The old "key4.db" and "logins.json" files I had didn't work, although they have a significant size. In fact, looking at the "logins.json" using VS Code I see the logins are there but they don't display in the "Settings > Privacy & Security". How can I get access to them when this happens again. I was able to restore the profile from several days ago so I'm not completely in trouble.  :-)
