I have a unique and perplexing touchscreen issue using the latest Firefox browser on a 2017 Surface Pro (8/256) with the latest software and firmware updates.
When I add a new tab and subsequently try to delete that new tab, Firefox often freezes meaning that the browser does not feedback/refresh on my clicking (touching). HOWEVER when I force a browser refresh by clicking on any other window Firefox refreshes and acts on all the clicks I made while it was frozen. The clicks were processed by Firefox but it appears that the browser is not repainting after each click. To add insult to injury when I use a USB mouse this does not occur. Also I run identical Firefox on another desktop via mouse with no issues.
Certainly this seems to point to a Windows software issue but this issue does happen with any other apps including IE and Edge.
Among other things, actions I have tried include:
1. Run in safe mode 2. Re-install with new profile 3. Toggle many of recommended about:config settings 4. Change themes 5. Re-installed Windows touch screen driver
Below is my troubleshooting report.
Any ideas? Richard

Hi folks, On my new MacBook Pro the color saturation of websites appears excessive. I've attached a screenshot comparing the color reproduction of Firefox (on left) vs. Safari (on right). If you compare the "3-D Cease Fire" and "Beauty and the Beast" blu-ray case images, you'll easily see that the color saturation on Firefox is excessive. Similarly, the "Best Blu-ray Movie Deals" button is too saturated. I notice the phenomenon on almost all websites.
I've tried playing around with the various gfx.color options to no avail so far. Maybe I haven't hit the right combination.
Thank you!
Best, Joel

I've installed a new 27" iMac (2017) running the High Sierra OS. The installation used Time Machine to transfer two user accounts and the applications from my previous system, which ran Firefox without a problem. This new implementation of Firefox on the 27" iMac was highly dysfunctional and would not allow me to bookmark new pages and would not sync with bookmarks from my Macbook Air. Consequently, I deleted Firefox from my new system and downloaded and installed a new version of Firefox. With the new version of Firefox I still have problems bookmarking pages, I can't sync with my MacBook Air, and I can't import the bookmarks from my Macbook Air. When I attempt to import bookmarks I get the following notice - "Unable to process the backup file."

Hello, I'm working with firefox 59.0.2 (64 bits) and trying to create a certificat with http://www.cacert.org. My certificate is correctly created and inserted in the firefox certificate database. I need to use this certificate with my private key in others software (Windows10, Chrome, Edge, Adobe Acrobat pro 9.5.5 and reader DC 18.2304,...) After export the certificate chains including the private, public and root keys PKCS#12 (.P12), I'm trying without success to import the certificate in windows10/certmgr because received a password error message. For information : Reimport the .P12 certificate into firefox certificate database correctly work. Import the .P12 certificate into Acrobat pro 9.5.5 correctly work and sign also work. openssl also work to convert .P12 file to pem then pem to .pfx resulting .pfx file then is correctly import to windows10/certmgr : This currently my only workaround solution.
openssl info on .P12 return :
===========
MAC:sha1 Iteration 1000000 PKCS7 Data Shrouded Keybag: pbeWithSHA1And3-KeyTripleDES-CBC, Iteration 1000000 PKCS7 Encrypted data: pbeWithSHA1And40BitRC2-CBC, Iteration 1000000 Certificate bag Certificate bag
openssl info on .Pfx return :
===========
MAC:sha1 Iteration 2048 PKCS7 Encrypted data: pbeWithSHA1And40BitRC2-CBC, Iteration 2048 Certificate bag Certificate bag PKCS7 Data Shrouded Keybag: pbeWithSHA1And3-KeyTripleDES-CBC, Iteration 2048
My questions : Why do I have to use openssl to convert my certificate to be able to import it to windows10/certmgr ? What is exactly firefox PKCS#12 export ciphers type ? Why Iteration = 1000000 for firefox export and 2048 for openssl output, could it be the culprit ? Is there other possible culprit ? (Order of openssl info out lines not the same) Is it possible to configure the firefox export to be compatible with windows10/certmgr ?

Firefox automatically opens www.salesforce.com/products/sales-cloud/overview/ on startup, instead of my designated homepage. Strangely, it only occurs on one of my computers, even though I'm using the same sync account on both. I've tried deleting the cache, all cookies, and even deleted the Firefox profile and created a new one, to no avail. I also verified that the website is not included in the Windows shortcut target. This is on Firefox Quantum 59.0.2 64-bit on Windows 10.

Hi everyone,
I use Firefox 59.0.2 on a PC with Windows 10 Home OS.
I tend not to close my browser windows for a very long time, I just open and close new tabs as required, I sometimes have lots of tabs open at the same time. Some of the tabs open at the moment have lot ads in them (stackoverflow, R-bloggers for example) and I don't use adblockers.
At the moment I have got 2 Firefox browser windows open. In one of them I have got 9 tabs. When attempt to close this window (by clicking the X button) the warning pops up: "You are about to close 9 tabs. Are you sure you want to continue?" So this is fine.
In the other window however (my main browser window) at the moment there are 8 open tabs. When I try to close this window, according to the warning: "You are about to close 70 tabs." Where do those extra 62 tabs come from??? Is it just a bug, where Firefox loses track of the number of the open tabs, or is it something more sinister?
Thank you for your help in advance.

My bookmarks have vanished. This problem began when I had iTunes and Firefox open. My iTunes songs were "skipping," which had never happened before. I closed Firefox and iTunes, and I ran my Piriform CCleaner program to clear out temporary files, which I do regularly.
I ended up updating iTunes to make it work, but not before my bookmarks disappeared with the message on my browser: "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. Some security software can cause this problem."
Worse, Firefox won't allow me to add new bookmarks.
I followed all topics in support and nothing has changed this problem. I've restarted and shut down the computer. I ran a full-system security scan. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox.
Please help!

So, I have hardware acceleration unchecked and I have established a limit of 4 subprocesses to run with firefox. However, I have discovered that even if that's the case, firefox is usually running with 6 to 7 subprocesses under it and that hardware acceleration is still getting activated after some time of use, it shows in my task-manager that firefox is using the GPU 0 - 3D thing and that only appears with software which is using hardware acceleration.
Is this intentional from mozilla's side? Cause, Hardware acceleration causes more troubles for me instead of making the browser run more smoothly.
