So, having been with Firefox since the end of Netscape Navigator... I have had one major irritation that is as follows:

Why is it not possible to simply save a cookie somewhere in a little piggy vault, and forgoing any other setting, and will save that cookie (specifically my banking cookies).

And be able to clear other data when closing the browser without losing said cookie(s)

no need for response, I am not interested in reading another, well, check a, but not b, or if you use r, then uncheck x.... I am not out to recreate a bomb, just wanted to simply get into my bank

I'm in permanent private browsing mode, so whenever I close Firefox the YouTube cookie exception I put under Manage exceptions gets deleted, now my question is if there is no way to make the exception permanent while in private browsing mode, why is the "Manage exceptions" menu enabled? why not disable it/grey it out?

What is available to the visited site in Private Browsing in a new window? Private browsing does not save cookies or history, but does it make previously saved cookies and history from un-private browsing available?

I ask because there is advice in a couple of YouTube videos about how to search for keywords to use in your new videos. This advice is that when hunting for potential popular search keywords, using a new private window to do the search will cause YouTube to do an "unbiased" search. That is, it will not be able to look at your YouTube history to determine viewing preferences when it presents you with recommended (auto complete) searches.

(Oops. I just realized I am doing this in a private window. I hope that doesn't matter.)

Thanks, Tom

Have upgraded to Firefox 88.0 on Mac. Have also recently cleared history, but have reinstated the web sites where I want my cookies retained.

In the past, I could quit Firefox and when I next boot it, my daily sites like Yahoo and Ebay do not require password log-in since I have "exempted" them from being cleared on the previous Firefox quit.

I do use "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" - but this is where the exceptions should come into play.

Until just recently this all worked fine. Now it does not and am required to re-log in after a fresh boot.

Any suggestions? Thanks. - jr

Is it possible to create a whitelist for when I deleting cookies and history at once? Recently, the number of sites that log in and authenticate by reading the QR code with a smartphone has increased, so I do not want to whitelist and delete cookie of such sites. It's very annoying to re-authenticate with your smartphone every time. But other than that, I want to delete everything every time I log off.

I just made a clean install of windows. It seems that firefox for some bizarre reason won't accept cookies from some sites.

For example at www.office.com, when I click "sing in" and I set up my credentials, I am still at the same "sign in" page. The problem can be easier understood in the following capture. (excuse the watermark)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bxt3FkLdD4c

I have the same issue with other sites, such as my bank, IRS, etc etc, making firefox practically unusable. Is there any fix for this?

Hi!

My Problem is, whenever I want to add a bookmark (favorite) to the bookmarks toolbar with active logins like - gmail/twitch/twitter etc, it won't save the bookmark. It will save any bookmark when I'm not logged in but this is really weird. What has changed and why can't I do this? Is there any way to add bookmarks with active logins to a toolbar? I might have to switch browsers if not :(

I search help from guidehttps://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions but nothing is suitable for my issue.
