I have an HP Pavillon, Juno email and Firefox is my default browser, At some point while accessing my email I will get the "unresponsive script" error and although it gives my options to continue, debug or close, none of it works and computer freezes. So I have to go to Task Manager and close everything down and start over. Very frustrating. It has also happened when I have been on other websites or with Internet Explorer. HP has tried fixing it, Juno has tried ....all to no avail. I've tried refresh, done many virus/malware scans, etc. It seems to me there is a plug-in or an add-in or some box somewhere not checked. Any ideas?

I have been using a website daily without issue for several years, suddenly last week I received a message saying secure connection failed when trying to do a search function on the website.

It has today got worse as I get the message now as soon as I log on, rather than when I just do a search.

The site is fine and I have used it for years. Please see attached screenshot.

Please help as its really driving me crazy!!

I'm not able to access https://pixabay.com/ as I get the message above (question bar) showing. Having checked out Q&A I tried deleting the cert8.db file then re-starting Mozilla, no joy. I am a bit reluctant to do a refresh as I'm unsure how it would affect my system? I am not that computer literate! I did do an SSL check & both their server & info bar url came back as A+.

Around the same time I now also can't access https://personofinterestdiscussion.com/ I did an SSL check & that came up with vulnerabiities. (I made a note of some if needed.) Their overall safety rating is F - grade capped to C . I haven't made any changes to my laptop lately (Windows 7) & haven't had problems accessing either site until a couple of days ago & I just don't know what to do to get back onto both. I have anti virus, anti spyware, anti malware etc installed with no problems, also Mozilla's website protection. I scan my laptop daily. This has came on so suddenly & I really want to get back onto both sites, so any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!  :)

I am having trouble with opening web pages that I always use. Since the last two updates of Firefox I cannot open any web pages except youtube and amazon. Can anyone shed any light on this or is anyone experiencing the same problem? Any help will be appreciated.

I don't use Firefox browser, but Mozilla is preventing me from accessing a https website because it thinks it is insecure. I use Comodo Ice Dragon browser. I do not have any type of security on my pc. I have turned of Ublock, https everywhere, comodo security & ghostery. Why has Mozilla taken control of my access to this website: https://elderscrollsonline.com/ ?

The web address is accompanied by a green padlock symbol & site securit is considered safe by the Comodo Ice Dragon browser.

This is the error I receive:

Secure Connection Failed

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

   The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
   Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

The 'educated guesses' below are incorrect. I use Comodo Ice Dragon 60.0.2.10 & Windows 7, not Firefox 59.0 or Windows 10.

Last night I did the new firefox update and every since then I have been getting the following error on multiple sites. Including Tumblr, Google, yahoo mail, and many others.

"Network Protocol Error

Firefox has experienced a network protocol violation that cannot be repaired.

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because an error in the network protocol was detected.

   Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem."

I have tried searching out the answer on here and most said to just clear out the cache which is what I did and I am still receiving the error at random times on different sites. I can refresh and the site will load but then if I got to another page of the same website or a different site the error will just appear again. Thanks in advance!

When trying DNS over https in in a neetwork that uses googles DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 I configured FF as follows set network.trr.mode=3 set network.trr.bootstarpaddress=8.8.8.8 set network.trr.uri=https://dns.google/dns-query

Then I went to https://1.1.1.1/help knowing full well that I am use googles DOH and not cloudflare expecting cloudflare web site to tell me I am not using there services with results being all negative.

Instead FF reported that "Warning potential security problem ahead". See enclosed If I am using Googles DOH values and I go to a cloudgflare site why would FF flag the site as a security risk? Keeping in mind FF appears to be working for other sites in the DOH configuration for Google with no visible problems.

Ever since I upgraded to Firefox 63, several trusted websites have stopped loading; instead I get sent to an error page with:

The website tried to negotiate an inadequate level of security.

<www.thestar.com> uses security technology that is outdated and vulnerable to attack. An attacker could easily reveal information which you thought to be safe. The website administrator will need to fix the server first before you can visit the site.

This also occurs with https://download-installer.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/firefox/releases/63.0.1/win32/en-US/Firefox%20Installer.exe

Is the problem at my end or theirs? If the former, what do I need to do to return to the behaviour for FF 62?

So when I try to visit archive.org or its wayback machine, I get "Secure Connection Failed" Two widgets are offered: a tickbox for reporting issues and a [Try Again] button. Your Help says to click on the [Advanced] button but there isn't one.

Before anybody gives me a lesson in online security, I would ask that you focus on your usability issue and not my personal habits, thanks.

Since the beginning of the year none of the sites I visit that require a certificate work. If I back date my system to say 12/23/2015 they work fine. I don't seem to have this issue with Internet Explorer. I'm not sure if this is a date issue or and issue with version 43.0.3 which I installed on 1/2/ 2016. Help!

This message keeps appearing when I attempt to access a new site: SEC_ERROR_REUSED_ISSUER_AND_SERIAL

The page for security certificates that is linked to from the error page lists several errors but does not include this one. There is nothing showing up when I search your support pages. Please can you supply the information required to sort this problem out.

Yesterday I installed FF 43.0 - 64bit. I did as clean install as I could, uninstalled old version, and deleted from HDD every "mozilla" and "firefox" directory I could find. Since then, I am unable to access next sites (I believe list is not complete): https://www.google.com/ https://www.facebook.com/ https://www.google.com/maps https://www.google.rs/?gws_rd=ssl

Error msg is alwaays the same: "You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.google.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure. Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified. What Should I Do? If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue. This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate. Technical details: www.google.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. The server might not be sending the appropriate intermediate certificates. An additional root certificate may need to be imported. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)"

Sites that I can normaly access with this FF are: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/ https://translate.google.com/ https://mail.google.com/

All other browsers can access all sites without problems.

Hello, for the past 2 days my Firefox on my laptop has been acting weird when it has suddenly refreshed itself. When I go to the Add-ons page, the graphics looks very poor (see attached image) and so does Youtube. I went to see if any plugins were having issues and saw that the Java toolkit is at some vulnerable state and cannot be accessed (Firefox simply won't let me to that Java page as it is untrusted). I was trying to re-install the Session manager add on, but the entire graphics of that Add-ons' page looks disabled. My Firefox is up to date, according to the to Firefox itself. Please advise me what to do, as I would very much like to get my old (proper working) Firefox back, and which would be the best way to uninstall it, as clearly that didn't work either?

Just yesterday I started having issues on my computer with Firefox. I play Elite Dangerous and went to the forums to check a recent update, and instead it sends me to an error screen with the message: "SSL_ERROR_RX_UNKNOWN_ALERT."

I refreshed firefox, deleted cache data/cookiees, etc. I also uninstalled AdBlockerPlus thinking that was the problem. None of these solved the issue, and Firefox works fine on my home internet (same internet as this PC) on my Windows Surface Pro 3 tablet.

I've been using hushmail.com for years. All of a sudden, just now, firefox is saying its insecure:

I easily accessed hushmail in safari. I'm signed in right now.

Any issues with me making an exception?

Hi. I'm trying to log on to a particular company's website and keep getting the message :

"The requested URL was rejected. Please consult with your administrator. Your support ID is: 11373612934950299921" (with a different number each time)

I've cleared my histories, cache and cookies. My Firefox updates itself.

Going to other sites is fine.

I've spoken to the company, they don't know what's happened and are not having this problem themselves or with any other customers.

Which administrator might it be referring to? Can anyone help? (I'm not sure whether to click on 'Share Data' below; let me know if this would be helpful.) Many thanks.

I just installed FF 63 on a 64-bit Windows 7 machine, and I'm getting SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER errors at many, but not all, websites. Reaching the same websites via the same URLs using Chrome works fine.

All discussions of this problem seem to lead to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/error-codes-secure-websites?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=troubleshoot-SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER, but it's not helpful. My antivirus is Bitdefender Free, which appears to have no option for disabling the interception of secure connections.

Running FF in safe mode behaves the same as in "normal" mode: I get SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER errors at many (but not all) websites.

Help? As things stand now, FF is pretty close to useless for me.

All websites are giving me an error. City & state governments and websites I used yesterday, etc.

I don't want to do anything foolish, but this has become tedious.

I have none of the AVs listed in your instructions and Avira never presented problems before.
