One feature at www.weather.com (Weather Channel) is their "weather in motion" feature which loads interactive weather radars. For some reason, this is not working on my Firefox browser. It works fine in Chrome and Edge. The weather.com website loads just fine but the radar data (overlay on a map) will not load. IT WORKS FINE IN SAFE MODE. So i tried to disable all of my plug-in's, extensions and hardware acceleration in Firefox in regular mode. Still doesn't work. I created a new profile. Still doesn't work. I disabled the tracker feature in Firefox on that web page. Still doesn't work. I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Flash. Still doesn't work. Any ideas???

Hello, My problem is this: Whenever I try to sign in to my Firefox account, it asks me to enter a security code from "your authentication app" in order to finish signing in.

I don't know what app this is referring to. I checked Google authenticator and Microsoft authenticator apps and neither of them have Firefox on them. These are the only two authenticator apps I've ever used. Is there a special Mozilla authentication app that I'm supposed to be aware of?

In order to successfully log in, 3 times I had to use a recovery code from the list of codes on a pdf I was initially given. I don't want to eventually get locked out of my account.

Thank you for any help.

Hi.

I love Firefox specifically because it lets me use Ctrl+Shift+N, i.e. reopen a closed window. I have this one window with several pinned tabs (Facebook etc.) and a few other open tabs (some reseach, YouTube etc.) where I keep things that I need to return to. I essentially NEVER close this window without reopening it, because it has the most important things I need. Sometimes I open a second/third window to work in (I had an online exam the other day, so I opened that and my materials in a separate window, so I can cycle through them more easily).

When I open this second window, sometimes I close my main window (it has quite a few tabs so it slows Firefox down). I then always reopen it using Ctrl+Shift+N and never had a problem. Well, I closed it now (then opened one or two other new windows), but when I wanted to reopen my main window back up, it just refused to. It's gone from "recently closed windows". Interestingly enough, at least two other windows I closed BEFORE it (one from yesterday, that I did unrelated googling in; the other was closed a couple minutes before the main window, it was an emoticon set that pops up from one forum) were possible to reopen, but not my main window. Now I can reopen just 3 windows, and I don't understand where they are (there used to be up to ~10 or so).

I want to know why I was able to reopen windows I closed long ago, but not the most recent one, and whether there is a way to fix this and get the main window back. I have effectively lost ~40 tabs that I had open (some research articles, pinned social media, some stuff I wanted to read etc.) that I can't even reopen unless I find them through my History (and hoo boy, that'd take a while).

Thanks for any info. Have a nice day.

SOLVED - EDIT: The amount of windows that can be reopened can be fixed as mentioned below. Lost window probably cannot be restored, sadly. EDIT 2: Actually it can be restored! See the answer to find out how. Both these lovely people gave me answers to my questions, kudos to both of them.

My Foxfire Browser's drop down menu has a mind of it's own.

I use current Foxfire Browser (77.0.1) with Windows 10 and have been trying to clear useless items from the drop down menu for months. I have tried all the standard, 'highlight and delete' options on YOUTUBE and right here.

I must be asking the wrong questions, because the answers I am finding do not clear the items from Foxfire's drop down menu. None of the prescribed techniques cleared the sites from Foxfire's drop down menu.. Hard to understand what I am missing but my browser' is clearly NOT responding the way explained in answers I have found.

Example: There is a Search with Amazon.com site listed. I have NEVER used and it will not be cleared. No Matter what. Top item on FoxFire's drop down menu.

In desperation, I just tried clearing "all browsing history" 'and the annoying drop down sites are still there. 'In fact, now there are additional annoying sites from Facebook (have not been in 10 years) and twitter (I have Never been on twiter).

What is wrong with this browser ?

Can anyone help ? Please.

Hello, Firefox seems to be using my system's High Contrast text color to render websites. My High Contrast text color is a light grey, to contrast with a dark system background. However, many webpages on the internet have light backgrounds, so when Firefox uses this color, I can't read the text. I already have Options>Language and Appearance>Colors>Override the colors specified by the page set to "Never." This also occurs in a brand new profile with 0 extensions or addons in Safe Mode. I just want Firefox to display webpages "normally", i.e. with black text, without regard to the current system colors.

To reproduce: - Turn on High Contrast - Visit a site such as http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/ppois.html - Change system High Contrast text color to any color you wish - Notice that the text on the page also changes to the same color, even with the setting on "Never"

Is there any way I can get Firefox to ignore the system's text color settings? Chrome renders the webpage just fine with black text.

I use Firefox on a daily basis. It's open 24/7 on my PC and has 7 pinned tabs because I use them all almost everyday - they are mostly e-mail. It's set to auto-update and I think it recently updated to version 80. Ever since Facebook announced the removal of Facebook Classic and rolled out a Messenger update yesterday, I have been getting weird memory-related issues. Since I don't use Firefox exclusively, I just minimize it but it's always running. When I maximize it back to use it, the Facebook pinned tab does something crazy and all my other software start complaining that Windows ran out of memory and sometimes even crashing them though Firefox doesn't and the Facebook page looks garbled like its CSS gets corrupted. I am using the new Facebook - the one that looks like an app - in Dark Mode. The issue only happens when I use Facebook. The issue started happening yesterday.

Important note: this only started happening yesterday. The only thing that changed was the update to Firefox 80 and the roll out of the new Facebook Messenger update. This PC is rarely shut down. Also, when I am using the network (like downloading games from Steam or Epic Games or GOG Galaxy), the issue worsens and Explorer crashes and closes everything in my notification area.

Current workaround: I closed the Facebook pinned tab and everything seems to be working fine.

Specs: Firefox version 80 (no plugins) Windows 10 version 2004 Core-i7 4790K, 32Gb RAM, SSD + 19 Terabytes total HDD NVidia RTX 2070 Super with latest Game Ready drivers

Since the release of version 82 we cannot print on a ticket printer. We use the silent printing solution from Firefox but then it prints a small ticket with only the name of the printjob on. When we disable the silent printing and click manually on the ok button in the print dialog it does work but that is not an option, we need the silent printing to process the printjobs of orders.

What can I do to make this work again? The issue is with all types and brands of ticketprinters.

In Google Chrome or with version 81 everything works great. We use Firefox on hundreds of computers so it is impossible to downgrade them all.

I have chosen to delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed. However I want to make certain exceptions. That normally works fine.

However that are certain sites that are listed in the "Managing Data"-list that are not proceeded with a "https://www...", a typical example is "google.com".

I have not been able to add such sites to the exceptions.

If I just write "google.com" in "Address of website", and choose Allow, the system automatically adds a "https://www.../ in front so the exceptions list looks like . . https://www. google.com . and the cookies listed as google.com are deleted when I close Firefox.

How can I add such sites to the exceptions?

Yesterday I updated Firefox to version 82 and now it won't start up, it seems to immediately crash. There is no error report dialog box. This is on Windows 10 with the latest patches. I tried restarting the computer, installing Firefox 82 32-bit and 64-bit versions, uninstall + reinstall, and safe mode, but none of these work. (This is on a corporate laptop so I have a limited ability to change internal system settings.) The Windows error from the event log is:

Faulting application name: firefox.exe, version: 82.0.0.7592, time stamp: 0x5f8738dd Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 10.0.17763.1432, time stamp: 0x80224f6f Exception code: 0xc0000409 Fault offset: 0x00000000000a4740 Faulting process id: 0x2998 Faulting application start time: 0x01d6a816d74b6186 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll Report Id: 5ed88218-3f48-47be-8c6c-aa5af98c902b Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID:

I installed Firefox 81 and that works fine, but it constantly tries to updated and every time I restart it crashes again. It also seems like I can't access my saved logins/passwords in this older Firefox version because it's using a different profile. I'm trying to avoid updating Firefox on my other Windows 10 computer in case it fails in the same way.

Please let me know if you need any more information. Thank you.

How do I contact Mozilla Firefox to ask if I'm able to access to my Firefox profile on their cloud server?

Windows 10 would not update so I contacted Microsoft Support and a technician spent two days trying to various methods to get the updates installed on my computer. After several failed attempts it was determined a Windows "reset" was needed. The reset stated it would uninstall apps but save user data. However, it appears the reset uninstalled and wiped my profile off the computer.

I've already asked a previous question using the Mozilla Firefox support section and verified the profile is in fact gone. No backups are available to rollback using Firefox and the backup profiles in the "Windows.old" and "Windows.old(1)" both contain saved profiles from after the reset.

It sounds like my last option is contacting Mozilla directly to verify my account information and see if they can access my profile on their cloud server?

So how does someone do that? Thanks

For some time now, Firefox has been incorrectly identifying the type for a large percentage of JPG images, and saving them with the PNG suffix instead. This is far beyond a minor issue, and needs to be addressed immediately. Please. Any suggestions on how to deal with this?
