I have been having an issue with Firefox freezing "sporadically" on my PC. In a nutshell, Firefox freezes typically once per boot-up cycle. By freeze, I mean that my whole PC locks up and is unusable, no clicking is allowed for any task, but my mouse is free to scroll around. Once the computer unfreezes, typically under 1 minute later, whatever action I had taken will pop up (including but not limited to ctrl-alt-del). This freezing only occurs on certain websites, and only after boot-up. The frequent problem I have isolated is yahoo mail, where the browser becomes stuck on "read s.yimg.com".
As far as I know, this only occurs shortly after boot up. If I magically avoid culprit sites, the PC eventually reaches a state where I have yet to witness a freeze. So say I get lucky on a few websites and edit a word doc for an hour, when I eventually load yahoo mail, it may NOT freeze.
I am currently running Firefox version 43.01. I had been using 36.04 until I updated to 43.0, and the problem started occurring on 36.04. I ran Firefox via safe mode, and also manually disabled all add-ons, but the problem persisted.
Also gave google chrome a shot, and I did not come across this same issue.
Anybody see this before? Curious for any insight you are able to provide, and a possible solution. While it may seem like a stupid question (do stupid questions actually exist?), could this be a virus? My gut tells me no, but I am no computer specialist.
Thanks!

When I click a web link from a email message (Thunderbird) or any other web link, , I get a wait circle from Win 7 for about 10 seconds but the page never loads in Firefox, but a firefox.exe process starts up. I can do this 10 times and the tab never loads the web page but I will get 10 Firefox process running. If I exit Firefox, all those 10 processes remain running and I need to stop them all before I can start up FIrefox again. I did startup Firefox in Safe mode and without my virus program running - no change. Extremely frustrating.

I downloaded today's update at the bequest of Mozilla. When I opened the program, I could not get past the master screen (I'm not sure what it's actually called.) Could not get to messages received or messages sent or contacts or any other category. Then I closed the program and could not even get back into the program. This same thing happened about a week ago when I was using Windows 10. I since went back to Windows 8.1 and Firefox was working perfectly -- until today's download update. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. Roger

When finished writing an email and sending it to the addressee the file normally loads into the sent folder of the email folder. It does not load in and the folder remains blank. Hello Everyone:
I have asked a similar question in the Thunderbird area.
My bootup is normal and I can open Thunderbird and Firefox (Ubuntu 16.04) All the tool bar navigation links on Firefox an frozen until I do the logoff/logon procedure. This is after a fresh, clean install. The same problem existed before the install.
Thunderbird will download all emails, but I cannot access any email until I logoff and logon the desktop. Thanks for any help.

A few minutes ago i tried to access my email. On clicking the blue email address symbol it came up saying that this Thunderbird exe was no longer applicable. On trying to gain an answer from Thunderbird the blue email symbol simply vanished from its usual spot on the bottom. I now have no email access in any way. Thunderbird has kindly offered to send me a new access code to let me in. They apparently have failed to notice that to get an access code I need an email. Who nicked all of my mail and all of my access? Nothing else seems to be missing on the computer - well, so far?! I have not the faintest idea as to how to resolve this mess. Anyone help? Please ?
