Sometimes it happens during the day too, but it always happens every night.

When I check the crash reports, the signature line says "OOM | small", which confirms my observation that it's running out of memory. On those occasions where it happens during the day, and I can catch it, the Peak Working Set in Windows Task Manager reveals that Firefox used all available memory before it crashed. (I have 8 gb total.)

It doesn't make any difference how many tabs I have open. I can have one tab open - about:home e.g. - and it can still crash with "OOM | small".

I wonder if Firefox spawns some background process that typically only runs at night, and that process is failing for some reason.

firefox crashes all the time ,especially facebook,i thought it was my video card ,so i went out and bought a new video card,it still crashes,i have uninstalled firefox and reinstalled firefox ,i have disabled all addons ,i have disabled hardware acceleration,i have no problems with any other browser but firefox,here are a list of my Submitted Crash Reports

Hi,

My first time here, just recently switched from Chrome to Firefox, but seems like it's a bit problematic. Version 70.0 worked fine, but ever since 70.0.1, Firefox starts crashing (randomly). 99% of the time there is no error message, the browser just crashes(closes) and that's it, no crash report, no error, the only thing I can do is to restore previous session. Usually, after crashing, it will crash again 2-3 times upon opening the browser, until it will finally work...for a while. Rarely there have been errors, saying the same thing - memory could not be read (attached in the post). Does not happen with any other browsers. All my drivers and software are up to date, memory is OK, (did windows memory diag and memtest86), hardware is okay, tried disabling plugins and hardware acceleration, still nothing. All that ever since 70.0.1, before that it worked fine. Is it just me or anyone else having that problem? If any additional info is needed, let me know.

In the past 5 minutes, MFF 73.0 x64 crashed 3 times. I've sent an error report, I always do, so quite a few should be at Moz. System: I5 6600K 16gb RAM GTX 1060 6GB 16tb disk space, of which 60% to 70% in use.

Crashes are irregular in time, but always with an instant CDT.

Tabs also frequently crash out on me, for no apparent reason. This too happens at irregular intervals. See picture below.

I use Firefox 73.0 (64-bit) on 5.3.18-1-MANJARO GNU/Linux and constantly faced with the fact that Firefox takes up all available memory until the computer freezes (12Gb RAM without swap). If I restart Firefox, initially memory usage is small, but after some websurfing it constantly grows, as if it were not clearing.

According to the about:memory report, most of the memory is occupied by the "chrome://browser/content/browser.xhtml". What is it and why does it take up so much memory?

I used to not have issues with Firefox but in recent weeks Firefox has crashed so much that it's becoming increasingly unusable for me - I've had 63 crashes in the last 24 hours, including 6 in the process of writing this post. The crashes do not seem to be caused by any specific website or action, and they still occur in safe mode. It is becoming increasingly rare for Firefox to last more than a few minutes without crashing. Any information that would alleviate me of this problem would be greatly appreciated. Firefox has been crashing non stop (tabs and general all window crashes) for about a week now so i tried following all kinds of advice like updating Firefox (was up to date) and disabling hardware acceleration but to no end so i tried putting it into safe mod and just when i thought it was fine five minutes later it started acting up again. would appreciate all help

I'm rather desperate for help. I've been a Firefox user for years, and can't figure this out.

My installation of Firefox 76.0.1 on Windows 10 crashes daily. It crashes in safe mode, my Windows is up to date, my video drivers are up to date. Before it crashes, I usually have one or more pages crash ("Gah! Your tab crashed"). After it crashes, it may or may not invoke the Mozilla crash reporter. Below are a few of the recent crash reports. Can anyone give me some guidance that might help stop the crashes?
