Hi, I am running the french FF 79.0 64 bit I just started to download the latest iso of debian 10.5 from the official Mirror and got the FF warning that it contains a virus. I am not sure if you have a team to check false positive as this is the official site and that it was released only yesterday https://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current/amd64/iso-dvd/debian-10.5.0-amd64-DVD-1.iso and I am getting worried after I got this message. Thank you in advance. Regards, Stephane

Hello! I am running firefox-esr version 68.5.0esr-1+b1 (from Debian testing) with a bunch of extensions (ublock origin, multi containers, suspend tab, open in browser, all in one sidebar, etc). Yesterday, I was suddenly unable to start firefox. I can see the profile manager and start another older profile, but not the one I really need to open. When I start from a terminal, I see this error message most of the time:

 ###!!! [Child][RunMessage] Error: Channel closing: too late to send/recv, messages will be lost

I have created a new profile and started it with success; after copying all files from the faulty profile, the new one does not start.

I have tried to run with safe mode: still does not start.

I have found https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/426502/firefox-keeps-crashing-upon-launch/466522 which doesn't help.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recovering-important-data-from-an-old-profile shows me how to copy bookmarks and cookies over. (I am not using any synchronization service.) I would very much like not losing my session (open tabs), but I don't know which file or database is holding it.

I would prefer not to have to spend a lot of time reinstalling and reconfiguring all extensions, but maybe it will be necessary. Thanks for any help troubleshooting this.

Can I change whether all text in the address bar is selected on focus / single click?

This question was asked before, but the answer no longer works because the about:config preference does not exist and when creating it, it doesn't change anything: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1128139

Firefox ESR tabs crashing on startup

I'm using a Docker container to install Firefox ESR via apt-get and then start a Firefox process using a Node.js script that is also started from the Dockerfile. Unfortunately, I'm unable to view any content on Firefox as I get a string of errors. Furthermore, I've tried Googling these errors to no avail. Here are the commands used to install Firefox ESR:

RUN apt-get update && apt-get -y install firefox-esr RUN mkdir -p /var/run/dbus

I am then using the spawn module from Node.js' child_process module with the following command:

firefox-esr -browser -foreground -width ${width} -height ${height} -safe-mode

Here is the full method used to run firefox-esr

export const firefox = (env: NodeJS.ProcessEnv, width: number, height: number) => spawn('sudo', [
       'firefox-esr',
           '-browser', '-foreground',
       '-width', `${width}`,
       '-height', `${height}`,
       '-safe-mode'
   ], {
       env,
       stdio: [
           'ignore',
           'inherit',
           'inherit'
       ]
   })

The errors I receive in the console are:

   [Parent 46, Gecko_IOThread] WARNING: pipe error (69): Connection reset by peer: file /build/firefox-esr-GalmjP/firefox-esr-60.8.0esr/ipc/chromium/src/chrome/common/ipc_channel_posix.cc, line 342

Tried everything, including the proposed solutions from https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1229034

I even completely removed ~/.mozilla and started in safe-mode. Still, the red error message comes up.

The problem persists since my update to FF62 on Debian. Up until 61 everything work seamlessly.
