Received notification this morning that I received the latest and greatest update from Firefox. Ever since receiving that notification, every time I do a Google Search, it comes back with response from Yahoo. My default Search engine is Google yet I can't receive anything back from Google. It won't even allow me to get in to Google Maps. What gives?

Hello Everyone,

Last Friday (10/16/20) I opened a pdf file from a link that expired at the end of the day. I believe I clicked "open" instead of "save" and was able to view the pdf from the browser with a URL destination leading to a directory in my computer. No sweat, its on the computer... I figured I can access it later on. Today I look in my temp folder (URL destination) and my downloads, and can't find the file. I go to my firefox Library and see that the file is in the "downloads" section. However, it says that the file is moved or missing, and I don't remember moving or deleting this file...

Any idea what firefox did with this file? Is there any way i can restore it or restore firefox history containing the file data? Appreciate any help. Thank You.

With a simple comparison between the fake plugins on your site and the original plugin, you can find out if the plugins in the plugins section of your site are fake or stolen. The name of the main plugin is Ledger live , and on your site, they are stealing with the same names and with a little change All plugins in this section of your site plugins are fake and thieves except SpeedLedger Which has a different topic and you can check https://addons.mozilla.org/fa/firefox/search/?platform=windows&q=ledger%20live I look forward to hearing from you to prevent further theft Thankful

I do web design. And my problem is that I used to click the refresh button in firefox and it would instantly load an updated version of the pages I was working on. But now it does the exact same thing I hate about chrome. It loads pages using cached css and javascript files. And the only way to view the updated websites is to go private mode which is very annoying. Is there an option to get around this? Or it's a software problem?

Hi, I created a new profile because of crashes. I have Firefox version 81.0.1 (64-bit). I have Ramdisk but I cannot edit anymore the cache location in browser.cache.disk.parent_directory. I can only toggle true-false but can't add the ramdisk location. Aren't we allowed anymore to use a ramdisk for cache?

The quick version of my question: Why does my Yahoo email readily open on most devices without prompting for the Primary Password? I'm not particularly tech savvy but I've looked and I haven't created any exceptions that would allow opening my email to be bypassed from the PP. Longer version: I use MF as my preferred browser and I have many websites bookmarked to which my passwords are autofilled. I work from home but I am my replacement at her office location. I was alarmed to find that when I brought up an MF browser on desktops at the office location, there were my bookmarks along with the ability for anyone to effortlessly login to a given website since the passwords were saved. to remedy, I tuned off Sync, but that didn't seem to solve the problem as my bookmarks were still exactly and easily accessible. Then I created a Primary Password on the two desktops at the remote office location, as well as several devices in my home. The puzzle is that Yahoo opens with no problem when I select that bookmark. I don't get prompted for the PP until I open another browser page. Also of concern: when I select a password protected bookmark, I can manually enter my login and see my sensitive account information if I just keep clicking on Cancel when the PP prompt appears. Is that because knowing the password "overwrites" the security of the PP?

I never use Top Sites, but now Amazon is suddenly pinned as a Top Site and clicking the "unpin" option doesn't do anything! As a result, each time I use the address bar, the first option it gives me is Amazon. Is there ANY way to unpin it?

I refuse to give that awful human of a Jeff Bezos and his Amazon any more exposure than it already has, and have it normally blocked. If Firefox FORCES me to give attention to them, then I have no other choice to move away from Firefox after years and years of using it.

Lately, I keep finding more and more websites that are able to prevent me from downloading their images. It seems this is becoming a huge problem now, and it's changing the entire experience of using the web.

And it seems to me that Mozilla are enabling developers to do this, trying to take away people's rights.

In the past, I could work around the problem (not that I should have to) by going to Tools > Page Info > Media. But even that method no longer works (eg go to www.bbc.co.uk - the large image in the top left is nowhere to be found in Media!) There are also sites which show PDFs that cannot be downloaded. That is just SO wrong!

The ability to save any image in a web page is a basic liberty of using the web, always has been. No website should be allowed to display images that can't be downloaded, it's just wrong. It's like someone making a magazine out of special paper to stop readers tearing pages out!

I've sent feedback about this through the Help menu, but no one ever listens.

Does anyone here have the ability to raise this issue with Mozilla? This needs to be FOUGHT against. They are helping large corporations to slowly strip away the basic rights of the public. Saving pictures may seem like only a small detail, but it ultimately leads to a 100% premium internet where no one can keep or save anything. Mozilla is taking the internet out of the hands of the public and putting it the hands of big businesses.

The issue of 'protecting copyright' is completely irrelevant. Any criminal operation determined to leech images would obviously have the ability to do this regardless. Plus, if companies don't want people to be able to download the high-res version of an image, they shouldn't put it online.

the problem with firefox going to a previous page and deleting all your typed work when you hit the backspace key is a known issue, for over eight years, and firefox has no intention of fixing the problem despite countless user complaints. the resulting loss in thousands of man-hours of work is not acceptable under any circumstances

but what is unacceptable aside from all the lost man-hours is that instead of mozilla immediately fixing the problem, it has allowed it to linger. i can no longer afford to use mozilla software. it's easier for me to delete all mozilla software from each and every one of my computers than have to keep track of the browser.backspace_action key for all of them. i'm going through all my drives and deleting everything to do with firefox

here's how to do it: download vivaldi browser and import all of your firefox settings: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11v63-MFUkOGVRm4Oia5EuW_ZTqVZosXl/view?usp=sharing

use this walkthrough to import all of your firefox tabs into vivaldi: https://browserengine.net/how-to-import-tabs-from-chrome-to-firefox-and-vice-versa/

search through all your drives for "mozilla" and "firefox", and delete everything, esp. having to do with "installer" or "setup" https://drive.google.com/file/d/1S5iAcWjC_wh0vNiWJujR-xk7lfhgihPJ/view?usp=sharing

there. you will never destroy your work by using the backspace key, and you can edit your typed work without fear of mozilla hijacking your browser and destroying all of your work

you can go the extra mile by putting every correspondence from mozilla that concerns donations into the spam folder

At first I was getting the something not wrong but don't fret we'll give it another shot message so I looked online and added Twitter to a block list and cleared all my cookies. This got rid of that message and I was able to get to the login page but when I go to login it still won't let me. I know the password is right (it also doesn't say anything like incorrect username/password). Someone in another forum had mentioned going into configs and flicking something from true to false or vice versa and that also didn't work. Most places I look just say the same old thing about cookies. It works perfectly fine on the mobile app and Chrome still but I prefer Firefox. I'm out of ideas.

In Firefox 81 removing the checkmark under Tools/Options/General/Tabs in the checkbox for "open links in tabs instead of new windows" disables the downloading on certain sites (i.e. ASUS). The browser just blinks and that is it.. This started with rel 79.

For those that want to reproduce the problem: 1. Go to Asus.com 2. Select "English" as language 3. On the drop-down menu click on "Consumer" 4. Under the line "Select a Product" chose "Networking" 5. Under "Select your Product" click on "Product Series" 6. On the drop-down menu select "Wireless Routers" 7. Then click on "Product Model" 8. On the drop-down menu select i.e. "RT-AC66U" 9. Then next to the router picture click on "Driver & Tools" 10. Under "Driver & Tools" select "BIOS & FIRMWARE" 11. Then click on "DOWNLOAD" button in the "Firmware" box 12. The browser will then do a short and quick "blink" and not download anything 13. You will also see a little line above the "DOWNLOAD" button saying "2020/10/08 Downloaded" with a little downward arrow in a circle right next to it 14. Check everything and you will that nothing was downloaded. 15. Try it with and without a check mark in the Firefox options as described above.

This started with firefox rel/ver 79.

I wonder how long it is going to take, till a developer reacts and confirms this "serious" problem. ASUS says it is a Firefox problem. I would really appreciate a reaction, since I am not using firefox anymore because of this.
