Hi,

My computer shut down when it was in the process of re-opening my previous last session. I looked in the profile folder... It has the recovery, previous, and upgrade json files available. Every time I try to restore these files via Library > History... it just keeps on talking about the bookmarks. I need those specific sites open up as it was for my studies. Yes, some of them date back a couple months and was going to go through them. I just was wishing someone could help me restore this data.

I did check this website:

https://www.jeffersonscher.com/ffu/scrounger.html

It seems like the files seems to be working? I'm not entirely 100% sure, but I see information there on websites and such that I had opened up. Not direct links.

Further, I do know that the previous was the last one that was closed properly. It's just the one that have "recovery" are the smaller files that don't retain any information.

I tried looking at available topics and pages on windows, but none seem to solve my problem. I would appreciate it if someone can help me as I feel like I am missing one last step or doing it incorrectly on how to open these files, again.

Thank you for all the help in advance. I do really appreciate it as I need these tabs restored. >.<

Bookmark this page process has changed (Firefox v83.0 Mac). I cannot choose where to save the bookmark because no screen appears where I can navigate to or select a destination. Then when I try to edit this bookmark, the edit screen only flashes briefly and disappears, giving me no means of editing the name or destination.

This has been occurring for 2 days as of 12/03/20.

Hi all, my daughter has found out that with Pinned Tabs she can work around the site-specific time limits I have set inside a parental control product (on windows10).

Normally the parental control just closes tabs that display a forbidden or over-used web URL. But as Pinned Tabs have no close button it seems to fail. It only reports "time is over".

Is there a way to disable Pinned Tabs ? In about:config maybe?

Thanks and best regards Daniel

Ever since evolving past the 70's version, "Print to PDF" from Firefox has had sporadic problems. I have now three times "upgraded" to various 80's series releases and though sometimes Print to PDF works, it more often fails. Once again i have "downgraded" to a 70's release, and i do not experience flaws.

I have posted at least twice of the issue, yet no one is able, or has done anything, about it. Fine. But to keep getting that annoying "New version available" notification is as irritating as malware, especially since "upgrading" will cause the system to malfunction, and the choice to spend time by your programmers to eliminate a safe internal method to disable this is very confusing; why was the decision made to eliminate the option to turn that annoyance off, creating an annoyance when the only time one would turn upgrades off would be when there was a malfunction with a release?

I did find the external registry fix, which, compared to pre early 60's releases having the setting, was a waste of my time to find, but more importantly, added an outside element of a breach of security. I do not understand the reasoning in the development team's thought process.

Does anyone have any bright ideas on how to get it to stop - I have search the net and changed and tweaked a few settings but nothing has made any difference at all.

Firefox keeps displaying '400 Bad Request Request Header Or Cookie Too Large' when trying to read articles on www.bloomberg.com.

It only happens when using this site and only on Firefox and not on Safari or Chrome.

How to fix this and be able to use Firefox as default browser for this site?

The first time I noticed the Megabar (I believe it was FF75) I absolutely hated everything about it and ruins the experience using Firefox. I am also not alone in this matter because as soon as the change was established, communities popped within hours to fix the problem. The old way of fixing this eyesore of an issue was the old about:config and changing around the settings then VIOLA! back to normal. Now after the update to 77, the Megabar is back and forced down everyone's throat and the old about:config is no longer the fix to this terrible experience. Literally after an hour of this trashbar being up, videos and guides popped up to try to fix it. Whole communities have been formed to hate this feature and ask Firefox to change it, or at least make it optional to go back. My question is, looking through google has only come up with the chrome.css(?) fix to this mess. Is there any way to change it back to the old url bar without having to go through the chrome.css fix or just uninstalling and reinstalling a previous Firefox or do I have to just migrate to another browser like Opera or Chromium?

In recent weeks, calls with audio have become buggy in Firefox. Whenever I engage in a call that accesses the microphone while I have a bluetooth headset connected, the headset starts continuously toggling call mode on and off for an extended duration. This can be anywhere from 10 seconds/3ish toggles to never-ending (meaning I got tired of waiting after about 3 minutes/55ish toggles).

Today I finally decided to debug further. Here are my findings:

  • Problem only exists in Firefox. I tested with Safari, Chromium, Slack and Discord, with no trouble presenting itself in any of them
  • Problem relates to all bluetooth headsets. I have tested with Sennheiser Momentum 2 Wireless and Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless, with both exhibiting the problem in Bluetooth mode. If I have no bluetooth headsets connected, the problem does not present itself. There is also no problem if I connect the Arctis using the wireless base station (which in turn is connected to the laptop by USB) instead of bluetooth. Using the base station, call and non-call are exposed to my mac as different/simultaneous channels — this may have something to do with it.
  • Problem persists with hardware acceleration toggled off
  • Problem persists in safe mode
  • Problem persists in private mode
  • Problem persists both on Whereby.com and Discord.com. On Whereby, it also interferes with the camera. This leads me to believe it might have something to do with WebRTC, as I think both websites use it.
  • Problem persists after reinstalling Firefox
  • On a possibly related note: if I end the voice chat session after it has stabilised, call mode toggles off slowly and always sends a "start playing media" signal to my Mac, even if it didn't pause anything when toggling call mode on.

In sum, this leads me to believe there is some sort of bug in Firefox causing this, but the lack of other topics on here with the same problem makes me skeptical. I am open to any suggestions with regards to further testing I can do. This is obviously very annoying, and I would like to have bluetooth calls working again.

I discovered that my metamask extension disappeared on its own from Firefox. It was not a lost pinned extension. The extension was not listed in the extensions any longer.

I looked in the history and browser had not updated. Does anyone have an explanation? Did Firefox remove metamask for some reason?

Is there a way that I can view changes to the extensions somehow?

Thank you.

My firefox tabs has been crashing, and it has been getting far far worse. Practically none of the tab will open longer than 5 milliseconds. Other browsers works perfectly fine. I tried starting it on safe mode, no good. Tried clean reinstalling firefox, no good.

Can anyone help me why firefox is specifically crashing? About a month ago it worked perfectly fine.

Hello,

since months I have problem with automatic launch of Firefox on my computer, It's really insupportable. I'm ready to abandon firefox. I'm on windows 10 and I use Firefox 83. There is 3 different sessions on my computer and only one has the problem.... my session. Firefox launch a new windows always and regularely, when the computer start, and all the time during the use of my sessions. If i'm already on Firefox, a new windows open's.... If I close this one, few second after an other open's..... If I put this one on background, about 1 min after again an other open's. Like this always and indefinitevely. Whatever my use of the computer or the site to visit. Even when I don't use internet and use other software to work, Firefox starts up and goes in front of my software. If I let my session opened and I do nothings, after a certain time a lot of firefox windows are open. You can easily understand why I say that It's really insupportable... and this only with Firefox on my session.

My computer is protected with antivirus, and I did a full scan several time, I also tried with an other antivirus software. I used 2 softwares for detect malware... Nothing. I try to uninstall and reinstall Firefox, but the problem still the same after reinstall. I already set the "toolkit.winRegisterApplicationRestart" on "false" but firefox start alone again, again, again...

Does anyone has an idea of what is the problem and what I can do ?

Thanks.
