I own a small business. We do have online accounts from suppliers, vendors to customers. I need to put employees in front of customer support for these online accounts. However, if an employee sits down to work on our accounts, he can clearly see the passwords for the log in information of our accounts.

Is there a way to lock the Firefox or any other browser (or any software or ANYTHING) out there that doesn't expose saved passwords? I don't know how to pass this security issue. The reason it's important is because if employee saves these passwords, he can obviously do bad things when he is not in the office.

Any help is greatly appreciated

I am unable to connect to the Nord VPN website or the Express VPN website because of a security issue with the Firefox Browser and I am unable to bypass the security and go to the site anyway. Here is what the message said: Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue

Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to www.nordvpn.com because this website requires a secure connection.

What can you do about it?

www.nordvpn.com has a security policy called HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), which means that Firefox can only connect to it securely. You can’t add an exception to visit this site.

The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it.

If you are on a corporate network or using anti-virus software, you can reach out to the support teams for assistance. You can also notify the website’s administrator about the problem.

When i click on the lock icon in the address bar, nothing happens (I would expect to see the encryption and certificate, but no widget opens). When I right-click into the page and select "View Page Info", "Security", "View Certificate", no certificate exists. Only generic info is shown (Servers+Authorities). Also an error is reported in the system log, confirming that no certificate exists: JavaScript error: chrome://browser/content/browser-siteIdentity.js, line 642: TypeError: issuerCert is undefined

Questions:

  • Why does Firefox show the lock icon while no certificate exists?
  • How does Firefox establish a secure connection without having a certificate? (From my understanding a certificate is needed for TLS to work.)

Version used: Firefox 78.12.0esr ('Mozilla/5.0 (X11; FreeBSD amd64; rv:78.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/78.0'), no add-ons or plugins.

I am writing here from Chrome browser because in accounts.firefox.com I get "Cookies and local storage are required. Please enable... Try again". Cookies are already enabled, Manage Cookies shows a lot of them -some minutes old (I had deleted them in one of the attempts to fix the issue, also recent history and other privacy stuff). Some pages I access regularly remain blank. One of them displays its content for 1/2 second. Other shows me the login page but I cannot login. Other sites I can access to the main page but its links. About required "local storage" there's nothing about that under Settings search. FF 92.0 Ubuntu 20.04 I've been using Ubuntu/Firefox for 14 years. Thank you

Hello I have used Firefox since 2016 and back then I had stored some passwords on the browser (without a Firefox account). After some time my PC hard drive stopped working, and I still had passwords saved on the browser. Afterwards I managed to get a new PC set up, which after a few years started to break down. This time, before the device had fully stopped working, I decided to uninstall Firefox. I realized afterwards that a folder had been created on my desktop named 'old Firefox data'. I managed to see my saved passwords in a folder. But bringing back the talk about passwords on my old hard drive, are they saved on some kind of database? I would like to remove all my past data as it helps with my obsessive compulsive disorder. Also, about the 'old Firefox data' folder, did my saved passwords also save on any database after uninstalling Firefox? Thanks
