I am using an offline web page as my default firefox home page and all was going well until I enabled sync. Now when I boot up firefox two things happen. It changes the address for my home page file to a folder NOT on this computer (the desk top) and won't retain the address I need for that folder.

I have just tried editing the bookmark for page. At the moment it seems to be working but I think sync is causing this issue and wonder if there is a fix for it?

Thank you.

This is only a Firefox problem, and I am able to use my back button normally in other browsers.

When I click back on my mouse after I am done reading a page, rather than going back a page it just assumes that I want to autoscroll, and allows to me scroll up and down the page rather than go back. How can I fix this? Most current version of Firefox on macOS.

This also is affecting the forward button on the mouse as well, it also goes to autoscroll. Scroll wheel click functions as normal (autoscrolling).

What can I do?

I can find no recent documentation on command line options for the Firefox Browser. All of the information on this appears to be out of date or just does not work any more (in the latest version June 2021). Is there any documentation on this anywhere that is correct for the current version of the browser? I am specifically trying to run firefox with command line options on Windows 10 but I do not see that that should make any difference. The only option I can get to work is starting firefox with a specific URL; even then I have to change the browser settings to get that to open a new window; because the browser settings override the command line option -new-window

Fedora 33 shipped with firefox-81. Just recently the first firefox update to fedora 33 landed. That update is firefox-89.

It is dead, no, excuse me, it's DEAD and DEAD slow. Youtube and streaming video sites stutter so badly that I'm lucky to get 2-3 frames per minute even if the audio holds up. firefox-89 is also slow on other fronts, no, excuse me, it's DEAD slow on all fronts.

I have a large number of windows and tabs and cutting that number by 25 to 30% has no noticable effect.

After searching for solutions, the top suggestion was to disable "proton", but no that had only a tiny effect.

What are the mozilla people thinking? My guess is that they are not thinking.

Another worthy question is, how did this awful piece of software get distributed by the fedora project.

Look, I've been using mostly firefox since it's beginning, but come on, this is ridiculous.

I downgraded to firefox-81 but now some of my streaming services have stopped working because of an unsupported browser. Additionally, gmail does not work after the downgrade.

I know I'm not a loner in this and I know that firefox-89 is not the most recent version to disappoint in a major way. I predict that firefox will be history within a year unless Mozilla pulls it's act together.

Good day! We connected two-factor authentication to the account and ran into a problem. I'm getting a green screen when I try to play certain videos. I watched a tutorial on how to fix but the instructions don't match the options I see on my computer. If this is such a common problem I don't see why Mozilla doesn't fix it. Does anyone have a fix with menu options that are current?

I think that such a project would have multiple purposes: First off, you would take fewer things from Gecko, making for a more compact code base (I mean, does everyone want Video-in-Video and Pocket? Couldn't you integrate the most popular add-ons and remove add-on support? I like 'em, but don't they add bloat?). That could make the entry into development easier. Second off, it'd show people that Blink isn't the only engine you can base a browser off of. And if the code base is truly the same (includes Quantum), and more of a subset, it's probably easier to maintain and get security updates to than, for instance, Pale Moon. As fork developers are only able to backport security patches when Mozilla releases them, that problem would be greatly reduced if the project was made within Mozilla. Third off, having a lightweight browser might enable more people to use Mozilla products, as they could run the browser on weaker hardware. If the developers are able to focus on making that browser lightweight, it wouldn't be crucial for Firefox Standard to run on everything, and you'd still be able to reach more people.

I have had PCs for years and have used Firefox. My PC died and will not boot. I have an image of my C:\ drive on a Passport disk. But the Mac will not read it. I installed Firefox on my new Mac and signed in had all of my bookmarks and passwords. Then there was a Firefox icon on the bottom strip and one on my screen. In the interim, I opened some new accounts and used a bunch of passwords. At the end of the day, I dragged the icon on the screen down to the row of icons at the lower screen. That wiped out my Firefox. I downloaded Firefox again and put in what I thought was the password and it said I had multiple accounts and if I changed the password it would erase all of my data. I need to find out how to get the right password so I preserve my data. The email account I used as the ID is coolsgirl@msn.com. I am 72 and I don't want to make a mistake that is irreversible. My sister said Macs were easier but I should have gotten a new PC. Live and learn. I don't know my Firefox email. Thank you, Phyllis

Hi, I'm using Firefox and Nightly both updated to latest versions on Feren OS (Linux). The drop downs, option menus, bookmarks etc. all have transparent background on Nightly. Stable version has black background and white text as it should be.

I've tried userChrome.css but it doesn't work. Changing font-sizes do work which proves that Nightly looks for this file at startup. I've tried changing background on these CSS elements:

  1. main-menubar menupopup
  2. PlacesToolbarItems menupopup > hbox

My OS details are: Operating System: Feren OS 2021.04 KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.82.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.8.0-55-generic OS Type: 64-bit

Image is attacked for reference.
