Since FF 69 the starting (not the loading!) of websites frequently lasts more than 10 seconds under Xubuntu. The tab remains empty during this waiting time, while no sign of the loading process can be seen: The tab header shows no title, only the URL. The animated loading icon of the tab header is not shown. The status bar shows no activity. For about 5 to 20 seconds it looks like the tab is frozen. (See hardcopy.) This phenomenon occurs irregularly, but repeatedly, approximately with 10-20 percent of all calls, regardless of the requested URLs. It typically occurs piled within a random period, that lasts between a some seconds and several minutes. It also happens in safe mode, regardless of the used profile (even an unmodified new profile) and both in private an non-private windows. As far as I can judge, the troubleshooting Information shows no abnormalities. There are no issues with the internet connection. I've been using Firefox trouble-free for more than 10 years, but this phenomenon only occurred since Firefox 69.0.

Every time I try to make or receive a call it asks for permission to use microphone in Gmail Hangouts https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox . I have it set to "Allow". https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox When a call comes in or I try to make one it does not have the check mark box "Always Allow" on the little pop up window as I have seen before. I can set it to always allow by right clicking the chat window and page info, yet it keeps on asking for permission to use. -- It DOES show as being allowed both in the list in Options and when you check the page Info.
I thought maybe it has something to do with Flash ending, but when I use Hangouts on the Hangouts page: https://hangouts.google.com/ it works fine. And yes, I have removed all cookies and cache several times. Another thing I noticed is that you can't add any pages manually in the options. Not sure if that is related. Note that I use Firefox and Windows 7 .
Been searching for an answer since this started over a month ago. Thank you in advance for your help.

Whenever I log into my financial institution's or my ISP's website, Firefox often freezes. My version is 69.0.3 on Windows 7 64-Bit. Would the Windows 7 be the problem? Is this version of Firefox more for benefit of Windows 10 users? My next computer will not be Windows as I did not get my money's worth out of seven. Too much maintenance required; and I don't need this problem. Thank you.

Print Size changed in Firefox and the printed page comes out very small. I have to set it to fill the page every time and it still does not fill the page. I do not want to have to save a file first before printing. If I use Control Print from a selected email I get an Error message. It still shows my printer window. It also comes out small when I click the Print icon in an email window. I'm leaving Firefox if this can't be fixed. I shouldn't have to work this hard or have difficulties with print settings in a browser.

About once a week, my default browser search changes itself to Yahoo and I have to go into Preferences and manually change it back to Duck Duck Go. I have tried all the suggestions in the other answers to this question. I do not have any Yahoo extensions or anything suspicious. I have searched my entire computer for "Yahoo" and find nothing. I do not have a folder for Firefox, or any preferences file, only the application itself. I am on a Mac so Windows answers don't help me.

Ok, I get it. Flash will be abandoned in 15 months time. Who can actually do something about this? The developers of sites that use flash. So why am I being punished? Why do I need to click 3 times additionally for something I have exactly zero, zip, null, no influence over whatsoever? Speaking about user friendliness, this is NOT it. Apart from downgrading or reverting to another browser that has not implemented this ridiculous anti-user-friendiness measure, what can I do?

I need to disable Firefox from asking me to update. I had this turned off in the about:config Firefox never asked me to update after i clicked false. I do not want to update i tried the updated version of Firefox and it was horribly slow a lot of the features are removed. Si i uninstalled it the same day i tried the new version. I am currently using Firefox 69.0.2 It wants me to upgrade to 70.0.1 Firefox shows me this pop-up every 15 minutes.
After i reinstalled Firefox 69.0.2 i started getting the aggravating update pop-up I forgot how i disabled it the first time. i do know it was in about:config its well hidden
I need to get that opo-up shut off again. if i can't get it shut off then, I'll have no choice but to leave Firefox I have been using Firefox non-stop for around 17 years I would like to keep using Firefox but, without the annoying update pop-up in my face every 15 minutes.
Thank You.

For a while now, there have been two websites - budk.com and lcpdfr.com which stop and start working randomly. When they stop working, FireFox doesn't even attempt to open the site. I'll click on the icon, for a split second it looks like it's trying to load, then just stops. When this happens while I'm on a webpage, my page doesn't even change. It stays on the same page as if I've not done anything.
Later, it'll start working and I can use those sites - until it happens again and they stop working. This only happens in Firefox, no other browsers.

After the release and subsequent auto update of firefox 70.1 I had NO internet access. Anytime I attempted to open the browser I got an error page saying Can Not Connect. Finally after using a restore point dated Oct.25 I was able to acess the net and download sites again but I can no longer stream video from Netflix or Amazon Prime Video. Hulu and other sites are not affected. Netflix said refreshing firefox would work. It DID NOT. Amazon says the latest version of firefox is needed to restore functionality. That version kills my ability to access the web. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit on an older HP with AdBlocker Plus and HTTPS Everywhere. Any ideas ?

I have tried over a dozen times to change my (according to you) PRIMARY EMAIL ADDRESS. My primary (according to mozilla) is [REDACTED BY MODERATOR]. I would like to tell whoever answers this, THEY ARE WRONG. The previous email is just an "ADD-ON". To my mind, MY PRIMARY EMAIL ADDRESS IS:- [REDACTED BY MODERATOR]. I do not know where you got the gmail address from, it is very rare I use it, except in answering your non-existant, technicians. WHY? Do you only use volunteers to get people like me sorted out???? What is wrong with employing people that have been trained to sort out this type of problem. When ever I click on "CONTACT US", all there is, is a list similar to that which led to that page? There are NO LINKS that take me where I want to go, not where YOU want me to go. I am 71 next month, and I NEED SPECIFIC instructions as to what I have to do. I have had a computer eversince the AMIGA 500. So I do need help to sort out what I want, NOT, as you keep saying, I must have what YOU want. If you cannot sort this out, I will be going elsewhere. I have used firefox for bloody decades. This could be ending anytime soon. I am totally fed-up with your website, beloaw are three pictures to explain what I need.

Whenever I use something like Google news I would right click on a link and "Open in a new tab", working my way down the page of links. I've updated to Catalina and now right click might work for two or three but it may not. If I go to another program and back to firefox, right click won't work. If I multi-click on the right button occasionally a new tab will open with the link but I never again get the menu.
This started after I updated to Catalina. It's the same on an iMac, Mac Pro, two different mac minis and a mackbook air.
I have started in safe mode. I have deleted all add ons. It works for a time or two but then goes back to no right click available.

I need to embed video using the <embed> tag rather than the <video> tag. Other browsers support this, but Firefox doesn't.
For example, this code:
<figure> <embed src="myvid.mp4"> <figcaption> myvid </figcaption> </figure>
works in Chrome. Firefox however ignores the embed source and only prints the content of the <figcaption> tag.
What's going on here? Does Firefox not support video in <embed> tags?

Hello's I enabled DoH and Firefox documentation states that "to determine whether to use/bypass the enabled DoH option, Firefox checks amongst other things whether the preference security.enterprise_roots.enabled is set to true. This preference is set to true and locked in my browser, and my device is not corporate controlled. Further investigating I found a config file in the /defaults/pref folder that is added by Bitdefender my anti-virus product. Two questions: With this setting set to True, does that mean that Firefox will ignore the enabled DoH and use my configured resolvers? How can I prevent my anti-virus product from modifying this setting? I have a support question out to them but they are dragging their feet with their response. Thanks, sky.
