I CAN install and run and out of date Firefox browser, but I've been having PC issues thought maybe running the old browser was the cause of my issues, but it isn't because I'm now using Firefox Quantum 64.0.2 (64-bit), and my PC issues still persist. This problem is unrelated to the problem I am talking about today, which starts below:

The new problem I am having is that a couple of days ago, it just started, no Youtube comments load when I click on a video to watch. If I click on the notification bell, I can read the comments in there, and if I click to watch a video I commented on, if that video has 525 comments, I might be able to see 30 or 40 of those comments.

If I go to www.youtube.com and left click on a video to watch, no comments load. The video loads fine, and I can watch videos. When I scroll down, there is no loading circle, and no comments.

I went to Internet Explorer, and in Youtube, all comments are showing up. On my phone, all comments are showing up. Today I had notifications that some of my previous comments were liked.

I'm running Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1, 32GB RAM, AMD FX-8300, Nvidia GTX 970 4GB GDDR5, on board sound, on board lan. Firefox addons are Adblock Plus and Quick Dial. I was running this version of Firefox just fine, and a couple of days ago, I noticed that the comments aren't showing up. I had both of these addons installed, and comments did show up, now they aren't.

Firefox used to save screenshots of the web pages in PNG. It was totally fine but after recent update to 64.0.2 screenshots are saved locally in JPG. I didn't find any settings for the screenshots in the preferences or about:config and I would like to change this behavior back to the way it was previously.

Is it possible?

My Firefox browser on my Windows 10 Surface Book is being extremely slow at loading web pages compared to my other browsers like Chrome. I have tried running exclusions on Firefox for both the Windows Defender antivirus & firewall. Moreover, I've tried reinstalling Firefox, disabling add-ons, configuring the performance settings, and restarting it in Safe Mode. Now that I think about it, this issue has been plaguing me for months, but Firefox will go back to running perfectly for weeks at a time, and then goes right back to being horrendously slow at loading web pages again. Heck, even a simple Google search seems to take ages to load! I really don't want to switch to Chrome or any other browser so I really hope the community can help me out since I'm not sure what else I can do. Thank you for any help on this!

Hi all,

I'm troubleshooting why Firefox/Windows renders both graphics in the left column without anti-aliasing. All the other browsers I have tried, including Firefox/Mac, Safari/Mac, Chrome/Mac, Chrome/Windows render these graphics with smooth edges.

In the attached image, the leftmost is Firefox/Windows and the right is Chrome/Windows.

If the window isn't snapped or is maximized, this doesn't happen.

I am trying to use amcrestview.com to check my surveillance cameras. Firefox is not recognizing the plugin that they require for viewing. I have tried to allow exceptions and nothing is working. Is there an alternative to Activex that I can use for Firefox that will allow me to utilize this website?

I download the P2P Surveillance package, install it, restart the browser. When I go to long in it asks me to install the plugin again. It won't recognize that the plugin was installed.

My correspondent made corrections to a file they had posted. I keep getting the 1st (uncorrected) file. Are my settings corrupted?

I made another attempt in Chrome after the correspondent assured me that the file had been corrected. The file I downloaded from Chrome is the new corrected file. I tried again in Firefox and it still downloads the 1st file even though that file no longer exists on the server.

I've chosen DuckDuckGo as my default engine in FF. If I begin a new search in FF, my search correctly uses DDG. But, if I use macOS's Spotlight to initiate a search, it correctly opens my default browser, FF, then searches with Google. Here are some background details.

1. Open Spotlight and type a search term (e.g. 'KITTENS') 2. Force *web* (rather than local search) in Spotlight field: command+B 3. Default browser (Firefox) correctly opens. 4. Firefox correctly places search expression in Firefox's search field; e.g. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=kittens&t=ffnt&atb=v113-2&ia=web 5. About a second later, the DDG search term is replaced by a Google search; e.g. https://www.google.com/search?rls=en_GB&q=kittens&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

Notes: 1. This happens on the three macs that I use. 2. It does not happen if I have Safari as my default browser (Spotlight correctly opens a DDG search on Safari). 3. I don't have Google even listed as a possible browser in Firefox. 4. I looked in some Firefox forums and couldn't find any similar comments. 5. I've spent time browsing for others with the same problem but haven't seen anything coming up. Maybe just me or maybe I'm unusual in browsing from Spotlight. 6. I do not have Google as a non-default browser in FF (i.e., it's nothing obviously like it's tripping up on DDG and picking Google as my next choice - Google's not on the list). 7. The Troubleshooting Information field below mentions ' "keyGoogleFound": true,' Does this mean that Google is somehow 'baked in' to FF and this is the source of the problem?

Thanks very much :-)

Since the beginning of January I have been unable to use - google maps:

-when searching a place, it doesn't show it with an arrow and warp to it, like it is supposed to -planning routes doesn't show a blue line towards the destination, like it is supposed to - using the menu button doesnt respond, it simply does nothing, no error, no refresh, nothing.

-Gmail:

-When i was logged in (not anymore) the buttons on the site wouldn't show, just empty spaces with the backgrounds lighting up when hovering above the supposed location. I had to use the outdated html-only version, which worked. -The account buttons in the top-right corner didn't respond (like with maps)

Youtube:

-Some ads do not display correctly (the ads on the side of the page, above the recommended videos and the ads that are banners under videos, image included), merely showing the name and title of the ad with no background. (This made me suspect either the CSS doesnt work (maybe some ads use css?) or there is an error with the server, since firefox merely shows the title/head of the picture.

Google in general:

-I cannot log in to google, the button that says "Next" does not respond, like with maps and gmail.

Other sites: -Some show the "Please disable adblocker" message, which is weird since i have no adblocker active.

In general:

This problem occurs on all browsers (at least Edge and Chrome), but firefox is my primary browser therefore I am asking it here. Except for these abnormalities all other functions and animations work as intended. Personally I think it might have something to do with either the Javascript or being a server error, virus might also be an option.

Things I have tried so far: -Booting windows in Safe mode -Booting Firefox in safe mode -Checking Pc for malware(using antivirus and checking task manager for abnormalities) -Checking Firewall for abnormalities -Refreshing and deleting Cache -Reinstalling Firefox -Trying other browsers (even steam ingame launcer) -making sure extensions are disabled

Pc specs (drivers are updated as far as i know)

-Windows 10 -Intel core i7 7700k -Nvidia geforce gtx 980 -2X8Gb DDR4 3000mhz corsair vengeace RAM -Asus Z270-a Prime

I havent had these issues before and windows was completely reinstalled in November 2018 (too clogged up with useless, onetime software and too many unnecessary games),

Please help, my pc has become almost useless without gmail and maps and I would hate it to have to reinstall windows again

Thank you

When any PDF contains bookmarks, the built-in PDF viewer defaults the navigation pane open to the bookmarks tab. It also flows the navigation pane OVER the PDF content when launched. If I maximize the window, the nav pane will dock to the side and allow the full document to be viewed, but not when it is first launched. Is there a way for me to change the behavior and only expose the nav pane if I choose to open it?

Thanks!

Been using Firefox for decades, and there is a recent change which has me flummuxed. I've gone to a dual boot Windows system and want to export my bookmarks from one Firefox to the other. I go to All Bookmarks/Import and Backup/ and see a button that says "save in html", just as in former versions. I click on "Save to HTML" and tell it to go to my usual Firefox backup place in which I have backups going back to 2014 in html, the last dating to August or September 2018. Click "save".

I then click on "Import from HTML". My newest backup shows in .json but NOT in HTML.

What am I doing wrong?

I recently updated Firefox to 64.0.2 (64 bit), and since then, I no longer have the option to change the expiration of a screenshot taken with Firefox Screenshots. Before I updated, I could click on the text on the top left that says "expires in 14 days" and there was a dropdown menu with options to extend the expiration of the shot. Now, the "expires in 14 days" is just text, and clicking on it does nothing.

I know that I can save screenshots to my device, but I would also like the option of keeping them longer than 14 days in the cloud.

Expected outcome: Clicking on "expires in 14 days" opens a dropdown menu with multiple options to extend the expiration date.

Actual outcome: Clicking on "expires in 14 days" does nothing. There is no dropdown menu.

After latest update 64.0.2 (64-bit), all attempts to download any file of any type fail. I have tried different sites, and different file types. As soon as I click a file link on the browser page to download, the download starts (as indicated by the download arrow at top of firefox windows) but then immediately fails. When I look in the download folder the file size is zero. There is no additional information in the download window other than the text Failed and the name of the file.
