All I'd like to know is how to completely disable the ability of tabs crashing for any reason at all, permanently. I'd very seriously would rather the computer freeze or risk hardware damage, whatever pref(s) listed and unlisted I need to enable or disable I can put in lock file or anything. -Thanks!

I apologize in advance for my low level in English, I am a French internet user who has encountered a problem since this morning. I have Mozilla Firefox on Windows 10. So far, it has worked perfectly. However, I could see today, by turning on my computer that I could no longer access Mozilla Firefox. Indeed, when I click on it, I encounter this error message:

Windows did not find c: \ program files \ mozilla firefox \ firefox.exe. verify that you entered the correct name and try again

I do not understand why I have this message. When I go to C: \ Program files \ mozilla firefox I do have a "firefox" icon (exe application). but I clicked on it and it doesn't work. I would like to inform that by using avast, avast updated me mozilla firefox ... I repeatedly uninstall and reinstall mozilla firefox; I even turned off, turn on, and turn on the computer several times but nothing to do, it does not work.

Can you help me see more clearly please?

I would like to download .exe files to the TEMP folder and run them so they do not clutter up my downloads folder. Many of the programs that I use they require me to go to the website and download the new version, therefore I need to manually go in and delete the file. I have done a ton of research and have not found any solutions that will work yet. I know Firefox does not officially support this for security reasons, but I know that Edge supports this. An extension will work, but I have yet to find one.

Does anyone have a solution that will work on the latest version of Firefox?

What might be the reason for Firefox crashing (becomes nonresponsive) when on Facebook? I am using 77.0.1 (64-bit). Same issues on Ubuntu and Win10. Happens pretty much every time. Only restarting the browser helps. Seems similar [[to this|https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1153630?page=2]].

Any suggestions?

Hello there. We are developing website to configure our device. Webserver apache2 is configured to use Basic Authetication. One directory, that requiers authentication, doesn't have index.html and is browsed as "Index of /...". If i open a file on this webpage in the same tab, tab title is <ip>/<directiory>/<file>. But if I open file in new tab, tab title is <login>:<password>@<ip>/<directory>/<file>.

I have tried to Clear Cookies and Site Data repeatedly in Standard, Strict and Custom modes with no success and repeated that test when trying to uncheck Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed. Incidentally this problem began occurring when Firefox offered me the opportunity to use DNS Over HTTPS. I Like using DNS over HTTPS although it may very well be that hackers and info miners (Phishing) do Not like this new firefox setting and have adjusted their cookies into Permanent SOLs. Google hires hackers for many things. How can you help me you ask? Please repair the problem.

This has happened several times over the last few weeks. I'll be using Firefox with 8-12 tabs open, or even far less, and then suddenly I cannot select any of the tabs. I click on them, and nothing happens. Video and audio will keep playing, but I cannot select anything.

So at this point I quit it, it closes fine, and when I launch it again it prompts me to either start in safe mode or to refresh. I have to restart the PC to get it to launch Firefox normally again.

The only extension I use is uBlock origin.

I just starting using Firefox, and I've installed it on a Mac Laptop, a Windows Desktop, an iPhone, and an iPad.

Each install is logged into the same Firefox account, and each install began with the same set of bookmarks.

Now, when I add or remove a bookmark on one device, it's not syncing to any other device. I've tried this on several devices. I've tried manually clicking the "sync" icon on each device to try to kick it into working.

How can I fix this?

My Firefox Browser deleted itself somehow and microsoft edge took over as the default browser. I clicked on the browser in my task bar and a grey error box came up and said the short cut needed to be removed because foxfire.exe was not found. Then on my desktop I had a new folder called "Old Firefox Data".

I had a issue yesterday where I downloaded 2 Viruses (in a zipped folder) off the firefox secure transfer app because I thought it was a contract for work. My virus scan software removed the 2 trojan viruses and corrected the unauthorized changes to my computer.

How did the entire Firefox.exe disappear? Do I still have a problem? Thanks in advance!

Every time I download a new release of Firefox (win64 german), I check the downloaded file at virustotal and check the hashes published under http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/<Version>, e.g. http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/78.0.1/SHA256SUMS Up until release 77.0 the hashes matched but for 77.0.1 and also the current release 78.0.1 the hashes do not match, neither SHA256 nor SHA512. For "win64/de/Firefox Setup 78.0.1.exe" the SHA256 hash should be 56cff68e3f0cb76a6404d675f7e1bacc40ebaba7bbb5cadcb4950378656ab0a6 but the calculated hash is 8e69755f257aba44b6bbe5079e17f3bff8b62ddc27de9e1c479686e9ad871dfb When checking at virustotal, the file is recognized as scanned before and the displayed hash is the one I calculated, so at least my downloaded file is equal to the file other persons downloaded. Could it be that since v77.0.1 the published hashes are incorrect?

Hi! I've switched to Firefox quite recently and I love pretty much everything about the browser. The only problem I've been experiencing is that whenever I try to print a page the whole browser crashes. I've tried removing all the settings for printing in prefs.js but that didn't seem to help in any way and the crashes don't turn up in the about:crashes tab. Has anyone else been experiencing this and perhaps knows how to fix it?

When I open Firefox, I receive the following: Firefox can’t find the file at jar:file:///C:/Program Files/Mozilla Firefox/browser/omni.ja!/chrome/en-US/locale/branding/browserconfig.properties. I have seen the help that suggest I go to "about:config" and the browser.startup.homepage, which I have done. But the suggestion doesn't state what I should do once there. What do I do to the browser.startup.homepage?

We provide a free adblocker to our customers. In previous versions of FireFox we could install the extension with our provided MSI installation file. But with the recent updates to FF, it no longer works. What do we need to add or do in order for the MSI to continue to work?

I am unable to login to firefox accounts .

I have the correct Email and Password, but it keeps asking me for the conformation code sent to the email for login, but i dont have access to the Email as the password is saved in sync server.

I mean the Lockwise Sync server. No i don't have any device currently logged in to Sync. I recently Formatted my PC, So all files for password manager were lost(I synced the logins to the server before formatting my pc hoping that the Login id and Password for the Accounts would be enough to retrieve them ) and am trying to retrieve the logins.

No luck with the login links i can login but cannot change anything in the settings, it says :

" NOTE: Before you can view or make changes to this section, you will need to verify your email address. "

So any way i try it is asking for the conformation code sent to my Email address Whose password is stuck in my sync server.

After a successful 2-way TLS handshake, I was able to browse my website for 1-2 times, subsequent requests failed with the "Secure Connection Failed" message and there is no error code to understand what the error is. In Network tab, it showed that Firefox didn't send the request to the web server (request_not_make_to_webserver.png). In Console tab, there was a message of "This error page has no error code in its security info" (console_show_no_error_code_msg.png). There is no issue to connect to my website using Chrome.

Did anyone face this issue before? What could be the cause for such problem?

After updating this morning (I'm not sure if firefox was upgraded at this point) and restarting my computer firefox now exhibits a strange behavior. Every page I open it automatically scrolls through every scroll bar on the page. Thankfully most pages have only the one, down. However, if I get on a page with lots of iframes it will automatically scroll through each one of them in turn as well as scroll to the bottom of the page. I can't seem to interrupt this process until it's completed. Once it's done I can scroll back to the top, or correct any horizontal/vertical iframes and continue on as normal.

I've followed the instructions at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems to no avail. I've opened firefox in windows as well and it doesn't seem to have this behavior. I've started in safe mode and it still does it. I manually turned off each plugin as well one by one and still, this problem persists.

I just received my new MacBook Air and am trying to use the synch to synch the above-referenced items from my old MacBook Pro. I am NOT synching to a phone. Each time I choose to not continue w/a QR code or SMS message, I'm taken to a screen about FF Monitor and am never able to enter "another device", which is where I began, "Connect another device" - any assistance or work around will be gladly appreciated. I extremely triggered of this extremely incomfort Mozilla support. Recently I log in in f****n@ya.ru account and wrote a 2 massages to one of users. Now I want to log in and see are my massages answered and see THAT: "The email used with this Firefox Account is already linked in another profile.", "This account is not active. Please contact an administrator if you believe this is an error". contact the administrator - WHERE is administrator email or ANYTHING that give me a possibility to contact him?! In any non-extremely uncomfort site there's will be a link in "contact an administrator" for I'm not be forced to turn the world upside down in search of this administrator. But there's no link. Ok, I find "contact" button, see standart "contact" page for big companies with large text instead of 1-3 emails, Ctrl+F "administrator" - no matches. WHO should I contact if I have this problem, why this site so intricate?!! Why it's saying "CONTACT administrator" without GIVING CONTACTS of administrator?!! Why can't I log in my account?!!
