I have just installed 91.1 ESR. On opening the first time I am offered to "Choose a theme" or "Not now". I chose Not now.

I expected that I would then be able to go into the settings menu somewhere and find the options:

  • Streamlined Toolbar and menus
  • Modern tabs
  • Fresh icons and clearer messages

I do not find these under Settings nor under the installed Themes. I'm not even sure these are a Theme as much of a Style??

Any help on this is appreciated. Searching the title was of no help.

According to the release info for the latest update (Version 92.0):

"The bookmark toolbar menus on macOS now follow Firefox visual styles."

I have no idea what that means or how to fix it! All I know is that the lists of bookmarks I have saved under toolbar tabs are now all double-spaced. I don't want them double-spaced — that makes all the lists twice as long! I just want them the way they were before the update . . . HELP!!!

I installed two versions of Firefox: Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Firefox Developer Edition. Typically, in Window 10, you can open a browser by pressing Win+R and typing "firefox", but with two versions installed, this always opens the version I don't want.

Since the latter version is always opened, I think it's related to the installation order, but I don't want to reinstall my browser. So is there any configuration available?

I know about the UserChrome.ccs, but what you mean by "application from your profile?" Do you mean web or do you mean on your own Personal Comptuer?

I'm on MacOS. Firefox v92.0. I use Firefox only with three sites I use regularly. I want to maximise screen real estate by getting rid of the address bar. Getting rid of tabs too would be great, because I can use option-cmd-arrow to tab through them. And I can close the window from the menu. I tried to follow this post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1288181 I did everything in that post, but the custom userChrome.css is having no effect. It's mentioned there that you have to use "window.open(...)" but I don't know what that means. The full screen function on MacOS is no good. It messes with my ability to swiftly switch between apps. So I cannot use it.

This is what I have in my userChrome.css file:

  1. main-window[chromehidden*="toolbar"] #nav-bar {
 visibility: collapse;

}

/*** Tighten up drop-down/context/popup menu spacing (8 Sep 2021) ***/

menupopup:not(.in-menulist) > menuitem, menupopup:not(.in-menulist) > menu {

 padding-block: 4px !important; /* reduce to 3px, 2px, 1px or 0px as needed */
 min-height: unset !important; /* v92.0 - for padding below 4px */

}

root {
 --arrowpanel-menuitem-padding: 4px 8px !important;

}

In Ubuntu 18.04, I bring up a new page, click in the search bar in the middle of the page. Then when I start typing it jumps to the address bar although I have already placed and preferred the search bar to the right. No! NO! NO!

I use Duck Duck Go but Google does the same.

It is bad enough that the upgrade was automatically loaded but on top of that, changing preferences including dumping my home page. Change privacy settings without asking ( to a lower level on top of that ).

Really POOR form.

My setup:

  • FireFox: Version 89 for Mac
  • macOS Big Sur - Version 11.5.2
  • Only other Browser is "Safari"
  • Mac is only a few months old and fully setup by for me by Apple Support before purchase.

It does NOT matter what I have done to set Firefox as default, it is being required to be set up as though it is the first time every time I start up my Mac.

  • I have tried the following:

- System Preferences General, Set Default web browser as "Firefox" - this does show 'Firefox' as the default browser - Within Firefox, Preferences,General, Set FireFox as the Default Browser - this does show Firefox as the Default Browser - When the above did NOT seem to make any difference, 'Refreshed Firefox' - I also setup Firefox Options to "start up at Login" all the time.

NO luck. Currently living with the issue by opening Firefox every time I log in. Not sure what else I can do.
