How can I transfer my bookmarks to Chrome IN THE SAME order as I have them in my Firefox? I know how to transfer them, but I need them in the same order as I have them in Firefox

I'm coming from Chrome to Firefox, one feature where getting distracted is open multiple bookmarks using CTRL/CMD + clicks

I thought I had two different accounts. Home, with my personal email and work, with my work email. My work computer crashed a few months ago, and out IT department was able to recover all my bookmarks, but it wasn't easy, so I was told. I decided to do what I do at home and that was to create an account for work, which I did. I now have an account for home with it's own bookmarks, and email, and a work account with it's own bookmarks and totally different email. I recently got a work phone. In the process of setting it up I synced it up with my work account. when I came home tonight I got online and all my work bookmarks were on my home computer. How did this happen? Now I don't have my home bookmarks. I tried signing out and signing back in with my home account, but no luck. This is very frustrating especially since they are two totally different accounts. SO, how do I get my home bookmarks back on my home computer? Thanks

I've used Firefox forever, have a lot of bookmarks, when searching bookmarks max 9 results display. Usually can finally find by adding search criteria, but getting hard to find. Is there a way to return more results in a search keywords than 9? Cannot find an option to to that. Thanks.

I was using Firefox on windows 10 laptop, everything was synced with my account. Now after switching to Ubuntu I can't see my bookmarks, Just an empty toolbar. Now I don't have access to my old laptop, I sold it.

Any help?

Hi! I did a "refresh" on firefox. How do I recover my bookmarks and passwords? There is a folder on my desktop named "OLD FIREFOX DATA" but I have no clue how to use the information contained in said folder.

I wanted to move the Firefox's automatically created bookmark folder "Other Bookmarks" into another folder (called To Sort folder). The folder was moved to the new location but it also remained in the "root" bookmarks folder. I tried to get it to be the other way round so that the "to-Sort" folder will be in the Bookmarks folder but- Trying to move it back it created a loop. Now when I go into the Other Bookmarks folder I can see the "To Sort" and it has a folder in it called "Other Bookmarks", which has the repeated same links and again the "To Sort" which has the "Other Bookmarks" which has the "To Sort" --> etc. ad infinitum

My bookmarks are in the list, but URLs which are not bookmarked are also in the list. (I say some of the entries are not bookmarks because there is no blue star if I double click on them.)

Recently I accidentially deleted some bookmarks. I tried a recovery from my latest automatic bookmark recovery session and also from the day before. This worked only partially. All bookmarks and the bookmark folder structure has been restored, but seperately. I now have about seventy empty folders and about 2000 bookmarks not in their folders but all in the "root" folder. The information about which bookmark was in which folder, is lost.

Any idea how this could be fixed? I'm using an up to date version of firefox 115.8.0esr.

hello! hope you are doing well, I recently got this problem where the bookmark bar does not appear on my browser even though it is on the "always show" option, it appears when I first open the browser, but once I enter any site, it disappears again, even on new tabs, and when I try different options for the BM, it makes it appear for one use only. I tried looking for solutions on the internet but to no avail. can you help me fix it? thank you in advance!

Hi there, Trouble is never far away from windows 10, as I had (yet again) to reset my whole notebook and Firefox and cannot recover previous bookmarks, nor the side bar. I am absolutely throttled on this as all seems unresponsive. I have found a copy of old firefox but it won´t swallow it. How can I get out of this situation which catches me out everytime. keep it simple

Duplicating of bookmarks now sorted by clearing all, thanks. Now, in the drop faves the bookmark menu is missing but appears in left pane when manage tab pressed? what is going on!

For years, I have had the Bookmark Toolbar always show on my initial page and all tabs at the top of page. Something happened and now it does not. I have tried resetting per instructions and it will show on my current page but then not show up my new tab and will disappear from the initial page. I tried a refresh to correct and that did not work either. I was able to get them to show on the left side of the screen but I much prefer them at the top and want to get back to that layout.

I had to totally rebuild my system from the bottom up. I had a copy of my old profile stored in the cloud, so I figured I was OK. When, I copied the files from the saved profile to my new profile, everything came over except my bookmarks. I copied the places.squlite and favicons.squlite files (which I understood to contain my bookmarks) separately and pasted them separately into the new profile, but to no avail. I used to keep a separate backup of my bookmarks, but when I learned that the bookmarks were kept in the profile, I stopped. How far up the creek have I gotten myself stuck, and is there a way to restore my bookmarks?

Drag-drop bookmarking broken, Firefox 102.0 (64 bit)

I do not know which update began exhibiting this apparent reversion bug, as i have just returned home from several weeks in the hospital due to a heart attack, and do not know how many updates i missed.

When doing a drag-drop of a URL from either a link on a page OR the address line at the top of the browser, I will receive a "sanity failure" error, ranging from an empty NON-URL file, to an OS error complaining about being unable to access an attempted directory destination.

If the link I am dragging is bereft of illegal characters (i.e., ":" -- a colon), the action will succeed.

If there IS a colon, the text to the LEFT of the colon will become the filename. The colon and everything to its right will be truncated. And, the file will be a zero-byte file of unknown (to me) type.

Other illegal characters in the page's Title field will produce more dramatic misbehavior.

PLEASE revert to the previous behavior (i.e., filtering the Title before creating the filename for the bookmark file)!

Earlier versions of Firefox (again, I do not know when this began) NEVER exhibited this behavior.

Using the menu line, if I click Bookmark>bookmark current tab, it used to bring up a box where I could edit the tab name and location of where to save that tab. Now, in Dec 2023, it bookmarks it but does not bring up this box. In order to see where the bookmark is, I have to again select Bookmark, EDIT this bookmark. Is there a setting I need to now adjust to bring up that box when bookmarking for the first time? I have W10 and updated Firefox.
