The latest update of Firefox, Ver. 71.0 is PITIFUL AND A POS! Firefox forced an update even though I have had it set to allow ME to decide when to update for years. Firefox will no longer be my default browser until you fix ALL these problems: 1. Forced updates 2. Slowness 3. PureVPN MUST work!

I've been using the FF 65 because FF didn't allowed the Simple Tab Groups add on for a while. Once FF allowed this add on again, I updated from 65 to 70. I completed the update and everything seems to work normal, but, when I restart the app: There is no master password, and all the saved logins are also gone. I know that FF has problems with the updates, so I copied my 65 version of FF an d also a copy of the profile. So I deleted the 70 and tried to update again, and the result is the same. It update's perfectly, but when I quit the app and open it again, master pass and logins are gone.
Does anyone knows what to do? Should I have to delete some file from the Profile?
Thanks in advance

Hello. I have been using Firefox off-and-on since the version 2.0, and there has been one bug that is plaguing me since 10+ years, and that is this error message that occurs when I close down Firefox and try to immediately reopen it (sometimes I wait 2-3 seconds just to avoid this error to no avail).
I am using version 65.0.2 (x64) now on latest Windows 10 version (on an MSI laptop with a spec of Intel i7 8750H cpu, Kingston SSD, 16 gb dual channel RAM and Nvidia RTX 2070 graphics card) and have been encountering this bug daily, and it really became so annoying that I'm considering reverting back to Chrome (which NEVER had this bug). This problem usually occurs when my previous Firefox session had more than 4 or so tabs, etc. but it also occurs when I just try to close and reopen the Firefox to test if the bug persists and 1 out of 5 times I get this bug and have to wait around 10 seconds for Firefox to realize there is a leftover session and offer me to close it before being able to open a new tab/window.
I have tried removing the .lock file from the profile folder (which DOES NOT remove itself when I end my session and gets recreated each time I restart a session), checking off the read-only mark from the profile folder, creating another profile and disabling hardware accelerating; but none of these made the slightest impact on the frequency I experience this problem. This thread from official Mozilla support also didn't help (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-already-running-not-responding ).
Should I just accept that this is the way Firefox works and that I need to wait 5-6 sec or so before attempting to reopen Firefox (as suggested here https://www.howtogeek.com/131004/how-to-fix-the-firefox-is-already-running-error/ (which dates back to 2012 and saddens me deeply that 7 more years of development changed nothing on this front)), or shut the Firefox down each time by killing it from the Task Manager; or could there maybe a fix to this? I had recently ditched Chrome since it froze my computer (a very rare bug related to the newer Windows 10 versions which occured only once to me, but felt serious enough that I uninstalled it), but if I can't find a reliable fix to this problem, I will probably just go back to Chrome where the bugs won't affect my daily usage.
Thank you for your help.

I noticed that on some web site forums where I participate using Firefox as my browser that extra carriage returns are inserted without any action from me other than pressing Enter at the end of a paragraph resulting in double spacing between paras. Investigation with the site admins revealed that other Firefox users are experience the same problem and describe it as "Irritating." I visited the relevant thread with Chrome as my browser and did not get the extra carriage returns. Chrome inserted only one carriage return on pressing Enter - no line spacing resulted - whereas Firefox inserted 2 carriage returns with a single press on the Enter key resulting in double lines inserted.
Can anyone help?

But Chrome does print all of it.
We use Firefox here at work so I enter the data on Firefox and use Chrome to print it. I'm so confused as to why Firefox is only printing half of the data but Chrome prints all of it.
I have tried everything from the "printing issues" troubleshooting page including resetting the printer settings and also removing all lines in the prefs.js file that start with print_.

It takes 2, 3, sometimes 4 times to click in an input text box to type. Restarted to safe mode didn't work. I tried in normal mode with all extensions and add-ons disabled or off. Changed theme to normal. Disabled hardware acceleration. Uninstalled/reinstalled FF. None were successful. It works in Chrome and IE. I look at my keyboard to type cos I'm retarded. So when I click once and the page animates like it wants to select but it doesn't, I usually have typed an invisible paragraph before I realize I have been duped. It is not a huge thing, just annoying.

I frequently leave Firefox open with a video stream from twitch.tv full-screened on a second monitor while doing other things (playing games, text editing, etc). If I leave Firefox untouched for long enough (more than a couple minutes, less than an hour) playback will start to stutter or lag (usually video first, eventually audio as well). Clicking Firefox or alt-tabbing very frequently fixes the issue, playback immediately becomes smooth. This is not a recent change, I've observed this behavior for months and finally decided to ask about it.
I have no proof that this is a browser issue. It could be a site-specific issue, (I see it most often on twitch but I have also seen it on other video sites like youtube), an OS issue, or something else.
That said, I could easily imagine it being an intentional browser feature - if Firefox is not focused, throttle JS execution and other resources to save power. In many cases this could be phrased as a feature for the user. Does such a feature, and is it configurable? I've looked through about:config and done some googling and find no mention, but I'm asking here to make sure.

Im just trying to have firefox have a dark theme, for everything. I want about:blank and about:newtab to be black background. why is this so complicated? I had to search for hours on this crap and write a custom css in chrome folder under default profile. I have it dark now but now it still flashes BRIGHT WHITE for a second before loading black. This shouldnt be so convoluted to fix. By the way, dark/black should be the default theme for every browser on planet earth. It would save millions from eyestrain/damage from harmful blue LED light from computer monitors and phone screens. Ive already selected default Dark Theme under themes. I tried the extension, Dark Background with Light Text. It now has interference from my custom css file I created, and wont work properly. Furthermore I cant change the new tab background on torbrowser either which is based off of firefox. Come on FF fix this nonsense, make customizing a theme EASY. its the simplest part of a website, the styling. And the fact that I click Dark Theme and everything should be dark, ITS NOT. about : blank and new tab are still GLARING WHITE! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Hello,
I love FF and have used it for many years. However, every time I open it, I have to adjust the initial window size and then at least 1 more new window. I am using 65.0.2 64 bit on a Windows 7 machine. I was reading and saw a suggestion to use the command line switches to set the window width and height. So I made a shortcut with the target line as "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -height 850 -width 1800. This doesn't work. So what am I doing wrong or is there an easier way to accomplish this? I am very surprised that there is nothing in the about:config that would allow this type of customization. I also am baffled at what window size is presumed by FF.
Thanks for your help in advance!

I'm on Win10 up-to-date. Firefox 65.0.1. Watching Task Mgr, I see FF load and consume 320MB+ (235MB+ in Safe Mode!). When I launch Chrome or IE (with similar add-ons), Chrome uses 195MB and IE is 65MB. This is ridiculous; I have always used FF; I even started back when Mozilla was known as Netscape!! But, I'm about to abandon FF and move to one of those other browsers. FF grows in its consumption of memory while I work until it's way over a gigabyte and it cripples my PC and I have to reboot. Sometimes, I close FF and try to restart it and I get a dialog box telling me it is still running. Again, this is ridiculous! This got substantially worse when this Quantum revision level began. It was never quite this bad before Quantum. I hate to see the day when I won't be able to use Firefox anymore but that day is coming soon!

Every time I print from Firefox, the page prints out in Landscape even though all the settings show it's set to print in Portrait. When I click "Print Preview" it shows a preview of the page in Portrait, the "Portrait" box is checked, scale is "Shrink to Fit". When I click on "Page Setup", the bubble next to "Portrait" is selected in the orientation section. Everything I can see seems to show that the page will print in Portrait, yet when it comes off the printer it's in Landscape. Every single time. This has been going on for at least six months, so it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the version of Firefox as Firefox has updated many times since this began (current version is 65.0.2).
The problem is limited to Firefox. Downloaded PDF's print in Portrait and if I copy/paste a page into Internet Explorer and print from IE, the page will print in Portrait. Which leads me to believe it's not an issue with my printer drivers.
I've tried all of the suggestions I found in the "Fixing printing problems in Firefox" article. Checked Firefox printer settings, reset Firefox print settings and reset all Firefox printer settings. After restarting Firefox, and my laptop, I'm still having the same problem. Firefox will only print in Landscape. Other than uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox, or going to another browser every time I need to print something, I don't know what else to do.
If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate the help! Thanks!
