I want to change the default fonts in Firefox. The problem is that the "Default font" setting doesn't really do this. Going to the "Advanced" dialog shows the truth: for every single writing system, the entries are
Serif: (Default) Times New Roman Sans-Serif: (Default) Arial Monospace: (Default) Andale Mono
I want to change which fonts Firefox uses for these "(Defaults)," and I want those defaults to apply to every writing system. Going through every writing system and individually changing them - for every user on the system, mind you - is not an acceptable solution. I didn't see anything in about:config. There is a default, and it needs to be changeable somehow. How?

I am having trouble running Firefox 68.2.0 on a fresh install of CentOS 7.7.1908. This happens whether or not a .mozilla/ directory exists. The problem happens when I invoke Firefox from the command line with or without the "-safe-mode" switch. No Firefox window come up.
Here's what the process listing looks like:

I must use the -KILL switch to kill the program.
Any ideas on how to fix this problem>?

I was browsing as normal when I navigated to a site I have been to many times and that I consider reputable (Etsy) and the browser immediately went to a screen that said something about how Firefox had done updates in the background and I needed to click a button to "Restart Firefox." Obviously this looked fishy to me and I didn't click; instead I killed Firefox via the command line and then restarted it. When I did, one of my windows didn't look right (I had two windows open, each with several tabs)-- the tab bar at the top just cut off halfway through one of the tabs instead of me being able to scroll over. In addition, right after I was playing a game on my computer and part of the game board froze. Now everything seems normal. Is it possible I managed to end up with some malware even though I didn't click on the link? Has anyone seen this particular scam before?
Thank you!

I tried running with --safe-mode [all extensions disabled], but it kept happening. Does the following match any known problem?
I don't have any crash information recorded by firefox. So I've tried running it in a terminal instead and capturing the console output.
- No firefox crash recordings
The crash report dialogue does *not* appear when Firefox crashes.
Firefox support articles also suggested I look in "about:crashes". However when I visit "about:crashes", Firefox just says "Hmm. That address doesn’t look right. Please check that the URL is correct and try again."
In "~/.mozilla/firefox/Crash Reports/submitted/", there are several files but they are all older than the current month (November 2019).

A couple versions back, I started getting this pop-up message each morning, "Firefox can't update to the latest version". I downloaded a newer version and upgraded manually a couple times, now up to 70.0, and the pop-up keeps happening. I see a couple other people have reported a similar problem, one here was blown off because they were, supposedly, running a beta version. I'm not running beta. The other one I found was fixed by doing something to the registry, but I'm on Linux, not MS Windows so there's no registry (at least none that I know about).
The one other symptom I've noticed is that when I bring up the "About Firefox" window, it takes a really long time to figure out that "Firefox is up to date". And it always says it's up to date (if I wait long enough) even when there's a newer version available.
It would be greatly helpful if that pop-up would say *why* it couldn't update itself but it does not give any useful information.
Thanks for any help on this.

I'm running Manjaro linux XFCE 64bit. I have the latest version of Firefox installed from the Manjaro repositories (69.0.3-1). The flashplugin is also installed from the Manjaro repositories and is the latest version (32.0.0.270-1). In my plugin settings, Flash is set to ask to activate, and I've even tried turning off the "Block dangerous and intrusive Flash content" setting. Most websites that need Flash don't recognize that it is installed at all.
When I use Adobe's tools to check if Flash is installed, (https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html) this page doesn't show the ask to activate plugin in the URL bar until after I click on "Check Now" so their tool shows that I do not have Flash installed or enabled. If I click allow Flash on this page and then refresh the page, it seems like Flash gets disabled for that website again, and clicking "Check Now" once again shows that Flash is not installed or enabled.
Another page to check if it is installed is (https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/about/) which I found from downloading the flash plugin directly from Adobe in a readme.txt file. This page shows the Ask to activate directly on the Flash content, and when I click Allow, it recognizes that I have version 32.0.0.270 installed.
Most websites with Flash content that I want to use just don't show the Ask to activate prompt and show that I need to install Flash with the link to download from Adobe. I've tried uninstalling Flash and reinstalling, then rebooting my computer but that didn't help. This seems to be a reoccuring problem for me on linux, not just with Manjaro, but also Ubuntu, and even with other web browsers based on Chromium, like Brave browser. Does anyone know what causes this or how I can get Flash working on some pages?

Hi, I would like to point out that the drag n drop feature of Firefox is not really good.
I have used many linux distribution and faced this problem from the day I started using Linux. I thought Firefox team would notice this, and work on this, so I didn't report any bug. But the problem stayed the same.
The Problem: When you try to drag a file from any file manager (I used Nautilus, Nemo, Thunar, Pcmanfm, and Dolphin file managers) on Linux, it will not instantly pop the "Drag files here" on supported websites. For example, when you try to upload files to mega, you have to drag and drop multiple times before getting it working. That doesn't happen with Chromium.
Even worse, if you try to drag and drop hundreds of files, Firefox will crash. I have also tried Firefox Nightly and Firefox Beta. Same. No improvement on them. Here I would like to attach a screenshot of the crash.

which uses indexedDB(PouchDB). I installed that extension from addons.mozilla.org, disabled, installed temporarily version for developing and Firefox removes data of both extensions(cuz they have the same id) every time I remove only temporarily version.
This does not happen when I don't set id in manifest(temporarily version has random id in this case), but it's not a solution cuz some API's and Android version of Firefox requires id to be set manually
How to prevent Firefox from removing data of normal extension when I remove temporarily one?
Just in case someone wants to reproduce the issue:
1. Install this extension https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tagit/?src=search 2. Go to extension's page (button with eyes on browser's panel) 3. Go to "Tags" page and create any tag(write something and press Enter) 4. Disable this extension on about:addons page 5. Clone its repository and checkout to commit where id is in manifest `git clone https://github.com/DevAlone/tagit.git; git checkout 8e0d04201865fd7b7543b167279a045c89408d5c` 6. Install dependencies and build `npm install; npm run build` 7. Install that temporarily extension(`build` dir) on about:debugging page 8. Remove that temporarily extension on about:debugging page 9. Enable normal extension on about:addons page 10. Go to the Tags page again to see that database is gone

I found out last night that Firefox leaks internal data to the internet. I always thought Firefox is about security, but somehow Firefox ships default with the WebRTC leak vulnerability. I have 69.0 installed. Visit this site. Do you see your INTERNAL IP ADDRESS listed. "https://www.whatismyip.com/" If so then Firefox is compromising your safety by means of WebRTC leak.
Here is the possible hacks that can use Firefox and WebRTC and the solutions how to fix it. "https://restoreprivacy.com/webrtc-leaks/"
I installed 69.0 on 15 September 2019 long after it was reportedly fixed according to (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/security/advisories/mfsa2019-25/). It STILL has the vulnerability on my 69.0 installed straight from mozilla.
Better to check if you have the vulnerability. Firefox really should take security much more serious if the advertise constantly that they are all about security.
Confirm by reply if your internal IP shows up.

Firefox immediately goes to the crash report dialog about half the time I start it. When this happens it takes up to 15 times restarting it for it to actually start. I've tried a clean install and starting in safe mode but the same thing happens. The most recent crash report ID is bp-a433666b-c733-415f-940a-e29210190805. Can anyone help with this?
