In the last couple of days, Firefox has started unexpectedly exiting.

It doesn't show an error message on screen or create a Firefox crash report - it just vanishes - but it does create a WER log and entry in the Windows Application error log. It doesn't necessarily exit when it has the focus in response to user interaction - some times I'll be doing something else, and try to tab back to Firefox, and it's just gone. Mean time between crashes is about 30 minutes - not "instantly" or "on startup" but enough to be unlivable with.

I have reinstalled Firefox, checked that it is up to date (73.0.1 (64-bit)), and disabled all my plugins except 1Password (I can't really use a browser without the 1Password plugin so if it doesn't work with it on, it's the same as it not working at all)

Some WER log files for example:

and here's a windows application log entry:

After refreshing Firefox because of a different (and now solved) problem, I restored my Old Firefox Data to recover my customization settings. The problem from before remained solved as well, so don't worry about that. The only problem is that now, for whatever reason, I can't delete any bookmarks. I can still add and edit bookmarks, but I can't outright delete them. My version is 73.0.1 (64-bit).

I've gone to about:support and checked Places Database. This is what it gave me:

> Task: checkIntegrity - Unable to check favicons.sqlite integrity: Error: Error(s) encountered during statement execution: database disk image is malformed > Task: invalidateCaches - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: checkCoherence - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: expire - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: originFrecencyStats - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: vacuum - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: stats - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: _refreshUI - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task.

A solution that I've seen elsewhere is to delete the "places.sqlite" file after closing Firefox and letting it reset, but that hasn't worked. Again, I can add and edit bookmarks, just not delete them. It doesn't matter where I try to delete them from (within the browser), and they all still link to the right places. It's not an emergency, but I'd appreciate help with this.

HI..

I'm running Xubuntu 18.04.4 LTS & recently switched from waterfox to Firefox 73.0.1. I have been bugged by two problems that I haven't been able to fix myself & was hoping that someone here could possibly help.

[ Problem_1. Sync has stopped working.... ] Whenever I open the synced tabs sidebar all I see is "Connect Another Device". On android I'm running Firefox Nightly version 75.0a1 & I've signed out & then re-signed in, but still nothing. The sidebar stays the same as the screenshot above. Both devices show under devices & apps & I can send tabs between both browsers. I just cannot use the synced tabs sidebar. I use sync daily & hope to find a fix soon. Here is the most recent sync log from about:sync-log. >> https://paste.mozilla.org/cXGtysBQ <<

[ Problem_2. Cannot fully use Instagram.... ] I can access instagram.com & browse through the site without any problems. However if I try to like, comment, share or follow I constantly get "Action Blocked" popping up & whatever I've just tried to do has been unsucessful. I can confirm that instagram works perfectly on both chromium & brave desktop browsers & also the official android app.

I have attached two screenshots relating to both my problems & can confirm that uninstalling & reinstalling firefox did nothing. Many thanks in advanced for replying & helping me :)

I "upgraded" to Catalina from High Sierra and Firefox now crashes and won't reopen because it says I already have another copy open when there is not other copy

Catalina (10.15.3) and Firefox (73.0.1) aren't working together. As soon as I stop actively using Firefox it crashes. If I try to reopen it, I get a message that I can't reopen it because there is a copy in use already. If I try to force quit Firefox it is not in the force quit menu. If I look in Activity Monitor Firefox is not present there either. Thank you.

It used to be when I pressed Command-J (or selected Downloads from the Tools menu) a separate window would open showing the downloads history. But now it opens a new tab in the current window instead. How can I get it back to opening in its own window?
